É um show incrível e tem uma crítica sociopolítica bastante interessante e é INCRÍVEL a forma como estão evoluindo e desenvolvendo Sam como sucessor natural do escudo de Steven.

It seems to me one of the best series that Marvel Studios has to date.
It makes me quite annoying that many classify it as bad and boring, I will never understand people and their tastes.

Not subtle. At all. But it's good to see Disney trying something that's a mix of old and new. I'm certainly interested in the show, and I hope it'll tackle its themes and villains well moving forward.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Has some of the best action ever for a Marvel show. The New captain america guy was very entertaining to watch, as he basically goes through a cycle of becoming America's #1 player, betraying everyone's trust, and then coming back to redeem himself. The racism themes near the end felt a little forced in my opinion, as it's not really set up in the beginning. I understand that racism is bad, but this message is just like any other show pushing a racism theme. It's nothing new. Other than that, it's a really entertaining show. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TFaWS takes us back to the action-packed explosive fight sequences that fans of the MCU movies have come to expect. These sequences live up to the standards set by the movies, are enjoyable and force our heroes into difficult situations where we get to see what they’re capable of. For me, this makes the show a bit more entertaining than WandaVision, since while WandaVision was a new structure and a breath of fresh air, it didn’t focus on the action as much as TFaWS does. The pacing of this show is also very different from WandaVision; it gets straight into the action and moves much quicker since at the end of every episode there is some big reveal that takes the show in a new direction, so we don’t end up waiting 3 or 4 episodes for the show to get truly exciting. This not only makes the show easier to watch but also keeps us engaged with each new episode with teasers and cliffhangers. TFaWS introduces some cool new characters into the franchise and also gives us some familiar faces. Wyatt Russell’s John Walker is almost certain to appear again the MCU and possibly have a big role in the franchise, and we’ve already seen Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Valentina appear again in another MCU installment. It’s great to see Daniel Bruhl back as Zemo and the arc that this show takes him on is really nice and leaves the possibility of him showing up again in the future in some capacity. The end of the show is a bit of a mess and kind of all over the place, but manages to get done what it needed to get done and do it well enough. My biggest criticism of the show is that at some level it’s unnecessary to watch. Sam Wilson (as well as other characters) ends up at the same place at the end of this show that he did at the end of Avengers: Endgame, so if you’re into the movies more than the show, you won’t miss too much by not watching the show. Overall, though, while TFaWS has its flaws, it’s entertaining, a solid entry to the Disney+ shows and improves in some areas where WandaVision faltered. Expand

It did not end up being a really great series, and frankly didn't took better advantage of the secondary characters, especially Zemo, but Marvel continues to show that they still have an entertaining story to tell.

Naturally at this point, it is very necessary to have a knowledge of the characters and their previous participations, and that can limit the narrative to gain new watchers, but it really must be admitted that if you're within what the MCU is, this is already essential.

The most redeemable thing about this show besides the good action, is the relationship between the two lead characters since like Wanda and Vision, Sam and Bucky had received a very poor development in the movies.

Here they were given the opportunity to dig deeper and to include details like the Isaiah Bradley's story, that would never have gotten exposure otherwise.
They still have the villain problem, but at least this has never been something that ends up tearing down the entire job.

At this point I'm not quite sure where these characters fit in, considering that Marvel is pointing to a more cosmic side, but obviously they have a plan, and the fact that at the end of this show, Sam Wilson rises as Captain America has to be more important than just a twist for this story. It's the MCU, you either love it or hate it.

Not perfect but good entertainment with a slower / weaker beginning to be fair. It is character driven and deals with the aftermath of Avengers Endgame and Infinity War in a global (=political) and personal scale. This is also surprising as in the comics nearly no event has a lasting effect on the world (Status quo from before is re-archived at the next issue no matter the impact or damages). It is set approx 6 months after endgame. All themes for the story and characters are relatable. I can understand all characters motivations, struggles, doubts and reasoning. The character interactions and development are strong and genuine. For this alone the season is worth watching. I am hesitant to give a set up for the overall story as the worldbuilding was truly good. Lets say Infinity War had some unexpected (but logical) positive effects for mankind. Then the world has changed again with the conclusion of Endgame and the fallout is harsh and cruel especially for the small (voiceless) people. The worldbuilding and pacing of the story is well done (The start is a bit slow for my taste). The characters are magnificent. Lets start with Anthony Mackie as the Falcon who struggles after being handed over the mantle or better said shield of Captain America and with financial problems of his family (Being a superhero is not that well paid). Bucky Barnes played by Sebastian Stan is still haunted by his past as Winter Soldier and is searching for forgiveness / redemption. Both work quite well and have a good chemistry together. Sometimes even like an old couple mad at each other;-). Awesome performance supported by a strong script. It continues with the rest of the equally strong cast. Wyatt Russel as John Walker is an excellent character (cant go into details because of spoilers) with Cle Bennett as Lemar Hoskins as his support (Yin to his yang). Erin Kellyman as Karli Morgenthau became one of my favorite characters and delivers a flawless performance. Daniel Brühl is back as Helmut Zemo. A remarkable performance and one of the most interesting characters as he is unpredictable. I want to also praise Adepero Oduye as Sarah Wilson, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradlex and Julia Louis-Dreyfous as Valetina Allegra de Fontaine. I think I stop here and say the whole cast from main to side to one time characters is excellent. One of the best cast I have seen in a while especially for a first season (A lot of shows suck at season one or improve a lot with later seasons). So many good characters, genuine development and relatable interactions. Also some new facets will be explored. It ends not there as the fight scenes are well choreographed. You can feel the impact and those were always intense and immersive. The effects look nice especially the scenes were Falcon can use his wings for full capacity. I should praise the writers for their ideas and creating such good character moments / development. There are some negatives however. Like I already mentioned it starts a bit slow. Bucky as Winter Soldier feels under-powered compared to before or lets say his prowess is downgraded. Finally there is that argument that some characters are different from before or feel different. In hindsight I agree but had thought that time and the changed world had its effect on them. In total I say these are not that serious. Overall this is definitely something I want to see more of. It earned its 8/10 with the interesting story, well done characters and moral ambiguity despite some minor weaknesses. An easy recommendation and I am hyped for season 2. Expand

I was worried that it would be a pandering mess considering the delicacy of the subject matter. However, the show did not come across as overly-partisan on either side, it didn't demonize black people or white people, and it did a great job of providing a well-written and balanced story that accurately portrays how messy race relations are in the U.S. It doesn't point fingers or blame any one particular group of people. Falcon and the Winter Soldier shows the audience that systematic racism is an exceedingly complicated issue, and it leaves the audience with a positive and hopeful message. I think that this is very important. In the current political climate, you constantly see the two majority parties pointing fingers at each other and claiming that "you're the problem, we have the solution." Genuinely, the thing that both parties (meaning most of the normal people within those parties) have in common is that they want to see people's lives get better, albeit through different means. Disney made the exceedingly wise choice of not furthering either side's more extreme views, meaning they didn't entirely vilify liberal or conservative ideology. Doing so would just further divide everyone (and, let's be honest, it would affect their bottom line.) Rather, it paints a picture of a messy society filled with hurt people, and a messy government that doesn't really care to help in the many ways that it could be helping. Spot on. Next, they should make a movie about the fact that the media makes more money when we all hate each other. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didn't really feel the first three episodes, it was kind of a slow start and I took some fairly large breaks between them. But starting with episode 4, things became very interesting and I binge-watched the rest of the series.

I've always liked Bucky / The Winter Soldier because he had an interesting past, he was cool, and I liked the dynamic between Steve and him. And he gets more fleshed out here.

And to be honest, before this series, I didn't really care about Sam / the Falcon. He was boring and didn't have very interesting abilities. But he also gets massively fleshed out and he really gets to shine in this series. He has some really cool fight moves in some of the scenes. This series actually made me like him as a character. He feels like a real character now.

I liked Zemo in Civil War and he also gets a bit more fleshed out here.

The Flag Smashers suffer of something I call the "Zaheer effect". Basically the villains make too much sense and you can't have the audience rooting for them, so the writers have to make them do something stupid and evil, like killing unarmed civilians. This kind of happens to all villains inspired by leftist ideology, I've noticed.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also touches upon subjects such as racism, system oppression, immigration and others. and I actually think they did a good job, all things considered.

Also, at the end, it was really nice to see the title Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

It's also funny seeing all these angry racists spamming 0/10 reviews. Pathetic.

Throughout the show we see him explore what it means for a black person to take up the mantle and what Captain AmericaSam is the main focus in the show and his struggle with the legacy and the responsibility of the shield is a great story. Throughout the show we see him explore what it means for a black person to take up the mantle and what Captain America means to the people. By the final episode, seeing Sam fully come into terms with his role is very fulfilling. Bucky is the secondary protagonist and he is struggling with his past as the Winter Soldier and a world without his best friend Steve. There is an exploration of his trauma and him trying to do right to all the victims of his past which is a nice story for his character. By the final episode, he finally knows what he needs to do and it's quite sad yet satisfying. The best part of the show is the banter between these 2 and their buddy cop antics are absolute highlights in the series.

Another highlight in this series is John Walker played magnificently by Wyatt Russell. He is the new Captain America that is chosen by the government. Wyatt manages to perfectly make him hateable and that is quite the testament to Wyatt's performance. He isn't an outright villain though and they do give him a fair amount of sympathetic qualities with a character arc of sort for him as well. Another great support character is Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) who has some great moments that add some weight to Sam's story. Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) returns from Captain America Civil War as a sort of wildcard for Sam and Bucky. His return is great as we get to see a more fun side to him while still being quite the manipulator. His interactions with both Sam and Bucky add another level of tension to the dynamic. Additionally, he wears his iconic costume from the comics which is nice even though it doesn't make much sense for him to do so. Daniel Bruhl single-handedly stole every scene he was in thanks to his amazing performance.

The cinematography by P.J. Dillon feels very "movie like" and I didn't get the TV show feeling when watching the series. There are some parts in the series where the visuals are quite gorgeous with an example being episode 3 where they are in Madripoor. Henry Jackman who scored Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War returns to score and while none of the soundtracks is memorable, it does a good job in representing the scene without being overly distracting. There are great action scenes that utilize the power of the super soldiers and the flying suit of Falcon. Some fights are quite brutal and very memorable. Nevertheless, I have some issues with this series and the biggest one being the slow pacing. There are a lot of moments where it feels like not much story progression is occurring. This is most noticeable in episode 5 where the majority of the episode is just a lot of sitting around. For a series that is only 6 episodes, it is quite weird that it can still drag like this. There is also a lot of moments during the series where it seems to be more focused on building future stories which are mildly distracting from the main story. The final episode also handles John's final story arc in a really weird way that just feels completely sudden and it also contains a very cringe resolution that doesn't fit the series.

I also have an issue with the main villain Karli Morgenthau (Erin Kellyman) who is the leader of an anti-patriotism group the Flag Smashers who contains some members with super-soldier serum. The motive of the group is fine and understandable as they want to have open national borders. The problem is the leader of the group Karli is just not believable. She is extremely bratty and murder crazed that I do not understand how people look up to her. The actress Erin is okay but her performance is constantly outweighed by the better antagonist of John Walker and everyone else. It also baffles me how they are somehow able to fight on par with Bucky when he has literal assassin, military training and a vibranium arm but okay. Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) returns but I have mixed feelings about her. She is a lot darker as a character and doesn't resemble who she was in the Captain America movies which are mildly jarring. Her still being on the run from the government despite all the other Cap supporters being pardon makes no logical sense. Despite being blipped, she is also somehow able to build a massive fortune and completely change her personality doesn't feel believable. However, she is a lot more interesting than just being Peggy 2.0 so there is that.

Overall, the series doesn't land all its shots but it certainly delivers on the epic scope you expect from Marvel. It has mature social commentary, hilarious moments, thrilling action sequences and great chemistry between Anthony and Sebastian that just meshes together like a charm. I'm interested in what this series leads to whether it's another Marvel movie or a second season and I want to see more of Sam and Bucky in the future.

Una solita serie marvel. Come un film da 6 ore. Dopo un po' stufa. Personaggi però integrati bene tra loro, trama semplice ma efficace.

Thus wrapping up the Disney+ aspect of the MCU Phase 4 slate for 2021. And so far, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the best and most meaningful offering from Phase 4 of the MCU at the time of this writing.

The show puts in the work and does a lot very well. It is profound and emotional on many levels as it tries to tackle both real problems, as well as MCU problems resulting from many years of storytelling which culminated the infinity saga in Endgame. Although it does not tackle all these problems perfectly, it does more than enough to tell a well-rounded story. A story where events occur within a coherent plot that carries forward both the MCU and the characters in the show in a genuine and meaningful way. This all allowed for real character growth as well as a richer universe which made an unexpected fourth Captain America movie with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as 'Cap' a reality. Not to mention Sam and Bucky are great frenemies.

Overall, it's superb and a must watch for phase 4. Binge-watch it.

In the movies, I never felt any kind of empathic with the protagonists of this TV show, nevertheless, this is so necessary to get a relationship with this characters.
