User score is almost bang on for this series (pilot). I'm giving it a lower 5/10 because this pilot plot dives immediately into earth/humanoid politics, so much for 'strange new worlds'. Also, It feels as if the creators try way to hard and the dialogue comes across very silly almost child like. Maybe next couple of episodes will turn the corner, but I really have my doubts.

Weak stories. Woke production. Plastic caricatures of Start Trek characters. Weak relationships. Some good acting but mostly weak. This is another example of how to wreck a timeless series that Disney has gotten very good at. We rate it a "don't waste your time."

Probably the best thing since the 2009 Star Trek trilogy, which isn't saying much. The movies I enjoyed but I wouldn't call them masterpieces like OG star trek, Next Generation, and even Voyager. That's the problem with the newer Star Trek, it sacrifices intelligence for action. I will say that the action is more sidelined and this series looks like it could be a promising possible revival for the TV run of Star Trek, but only time will tell. Expand

Preaching about vaccines, preaching about our current administrations and even putting up video on the show of our countries recent riots.
..YES...IN STAR TREK!!! Even my GF thought this was cheesy. This is a left wing atheist religious piece. It reminds me of when Christians made lots of films and movies back in the day. SNW has tpo layers of morals and preaching here. It's sad and

Too many characters and invincible women telling Spock what to do and rebelling against the captain.

My GF , lol, my GF! Pointed out how terrible the music was ..

While it is an improvement over the awful shows they've been tossing out like Picard, Discovery, and the abomination that was Lower Decks. I'm not yet convinced that this can be an improvement over said shows, however, it does show promise. As another viewer has said: "so much for 'strange new worlds'" it does seem to be a very political first episode, but I see this as a possible good thing or a possible bad thing, the Star Trek we all know and love did dabble in space politics, but it was not directly tied to real-world events, and that's just the thing isn't it? Many movies have been forcing politics down our throats and calling it entertainment, but if they stray away from this they might have something good on their hands. Expand

Comfort blanket Trek with a great cast, snappy writing and plenty of strands to unwind in future episodes, Strange New Worlds achieves everything it intends. But there’s a lingering feeling that there’s perhaps not quite enough that’s strange or new.

The first six episodes are fun, light, and well-crafted, but much of what Strange New Worlds offers can’t help but come off as clever franchise strategizing.

“Strange New Worlds” is at its best in its fifth episode, which delivers more cheeky fun and short bursts of character development with economy that are more meaningful than the paragraphs of breathless character exposition found in the first four episodes.
