If you were hoping Strange New Worlds would be a course-correction for the unbelievably low quality and rampant stupidity of nuTrek, you’re gonna have a bad time. This new show is just as dumb, tedious and awful as STD or Picard. Maybe worse.

Trek fans, it’s time to let go. It’s over. I know it sucks, but you have all the evidence you need now that it is never, ever going to get better.

Buy the DVD/Blu-ray if all the classic Trek shows, and then never give the talentless hacks at Paramount+ another dollar for as long as you live. It’s the least they deserve for killing Star Trek forever.

So freaking boring. Is this what Star Trek has become? Just an absolute snore-fest. Boring characters, uninteresting plotlines, lazy writing. Just utter garbage.

Why is everyone on this show an idiot?
It makes it unwatchable when everyone keeps making dumb decisions and never learn once from their mistakes.

Hmmm, let's see. Each episode starts out by going to help someone in trouble. The crew trusts everybody, but the crew is also stupid. The crew gets in trouble, but we rotate the savior from one crewmember to the next on each episode. Then the designated savior brings us out of trouble and back to safety, but they're wiser for making those stupid mistakes. I need to become a writer on thisHmmm, let's see. It was a uniquely painful and boring experience. I foolishly watched two episodes. The whole experience was futile in hindsight. The most positive thing that could happen for Strange New Worlds is for it to be terminated. It was woke and empty. Void of personality and charm. Bland and meaningless. A perfect example of how to never make a space science fiction series. If I could score it inIt was a uniquely painful and boring experience. I foolishly watched two episodes. Just like discovery.
Little house on the prairie in space.
    Wokeness, moralistic, box ticking.
What happened to the true Star Trek?
    Unbearable to watch anymore.

The only thing they're discovering in deep space is a myriad of virtue signals and woke nonsense. If you want to watch a better space show, try "Orville". What started out as a parody, has become a much better show, with deeper character work, than this show could possibly muster.

This appears to be the more of the same as previous recent Star Treks - instead of focus on sci-fi, we get modern gender tropes (you know, men weak and stupid, women flawless) situated in incoherent, boring stories.

Couldn't finish watching it. Tried to get a connection with any character was a no go. Won't be watching episode 2. You are better off watching The Orville or better yet The Expanse.

Unwatchable, they ignore any obvious smart come back lines, the dialogue is childish at best, stories are obvious or for some reason religious in a SCIENCE fiction show. They have no idea who the show is aimed at except anyone that can recognise the most massive number of very clumsy call backs to TOS which itself is almost unwatchable due to Shatners overacting. This has the theme of Star Trek, and very little else. The misogyny and racism (aka diversity) on display, are counter-pointed by the lack of continuity and logic.

What started out somewhat good quickly devolved into predictable, boring, tired political woke ideology of leftist activists. Do you love watching a show that virtue-signals to only 1 sociopolitical belief? Do you love watching a show that tries to shove their boring and perverted view of humanity onto you? So this show has some hit and misses but the misses are starting to out weight it all. Cartoon into living beings, god have you destroyed what could have gone amazing.

Comfort blanket Trek with a great cast, snappy writing and plenty of strands to unwind in future episodes, Strange New Worlds achieves everything it intends. But there’s a lingering feeling that there’s perhaps not quite enough that’s strange or new.

The first six episodes are fun, light, and well-crafted, but much of what Strange New Worlds offers can’t help but come off as clever franchise strategizing.

“Strange New Worlds” is at its best in its fifth episode, which delivers more cheeky fun and short bursts of character development with economy that are more meaningful than the paragraphs of breathless character exposition found in the first four episodes.
