Of course the black guy is from no less than Harvard Law and Dad is a civil rights nut. Gratuitous PC at best. It cheapens an otherwise entertaining, though somewhat estrogen laden show, that depicts Seals as relatively dysfunctional outside their missions.

All well and good up until the porn scene in the kitchen. I don't watch porn, don't wish to watch it in my TV shows. Sick and tired of these networks putting this garbage on TV. Its a shame.

Looked forward to the show. But only a few minutes in GD was used.
    I'm out !!
This could have been an awesome show. Not sure why they felt this laungage was needed.
People need to start speaking up on this !

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Watched the first few minutes of the first episode. SEAL committed a war crime (scalped a dead Tali), and murdered a prisoner who screamed he is an American. What a bunch of hokey. Sick, stupid, not accurate. Military porn. Not real history. C'mon history channel, you all can do better. Expand

This show may play well in the heartland of the United States but anywhere else people are scratching their heads. I agree the action scenes when they are focused on the enemy are good. When they are at home or creating drama in their tents, it's lame. The writing is too yeehaw and simplistic. They should get rid of all the family drama and focus on the enemy and action. Too bad. It sucks.

Pretty sure it says "Black Rifels Matter". We paused the DVR. I had high hopes for the show. The writers are not good. They don't deserve anymore attention than that. The back home scenes are shallow and the interpersonal relationships of the teams is all wrong.

The action is well-captured, including a couple of beautiful shots (courtesy of Lesli Linka Glatter, who directed the first two episodes) better than the sequences themselves. But Six’s disinterest in anything fresh, from an outsider’s perspective to a stronger opinion about anything in this world, dooms the series to mediocrity.

The show tries very hard to give us believable female characters in this context, but I’m afraid the best Six can do is achieve a kind of high-class soap opera. ... When the show travels outside of America, it’s still full of macho dialogue that can be wearisome--“We’re gonna fix this because that’s what we do; we’re gonna bring Rip home!”--but it has a blend of action and moral inquisitiveness that makes the show intriguing.

The show’s directors are adept at shooting action, and when the men of SEAL Team Six are on missions and in other high-risk situations, their motivations and actions are usually rendered with taut energy and fluid economy. It’s when the narrative returns to the home front, or laboriously stitches together its overarching terrorism plot, that the show feels most predictable.
