While action scenes from such military fare as “The Last Ship” come off as a bit hokey, that’s not the case with Six. The combat looks and feels real. That’s a credit to the Broyles. With TV veterans Goggins and Sloane, the acting’s on par with action. Read full review

The actors do their best to put life into these scenes, but they are so brief and expository, given how much territory there is to cover, that they feel mostly manufactured. Still, action is action--and this action is well staged--and it's reliably compelling to watch the good guys, with their night-vision goggles, special guns and ninja tread, going after the bad. The series is at its convincing best when it depicts the constant and oppressive danger of covert operations, and the Broyleses have created credible characters to hold our interest. There’s something very off about the visuals of the series, though. It just doesn’t really look like a war zone. It’s too clean, for one thing, but the lighting and use of video instead of film battle the convincing elements of the series. Read full review

The performances and the above-average directing team may lure some viewers who will then get irked by the rah-rah "America, hell yeah" bellicosity and those who come for the "America, hell yeah" bellicosity will probably get ticked off by all the pesky feelings, and by the suggestion that sometimes soldiers do bad things in war. Six is close to the military mindset. It focuses on the brotherhood of this very dangerous and perilous occupation, much like police and firemen. It shows the psychology, preparation, and skill needed to do this. The episodes shift between home/family issues and action in the field. The castSix is close to the military mindset. The portrayal of wives and women and family need to be carefully plotted out so the ethos of these men does not get bogged down in a soap with guns and bombs and death. I hope it develops richer story lines, especially about the "enemy"..… Expand

If you are looking for a Navy Seals point of view, plus with a pacing that goes with real life, you found your show. Walton Goggins and Juan Pablo Raba steals the show, but the other actors are finding a way into my heart as well. Even the wives and children of the team! I pretty much knew I would "get to the show" when I saw Walton Goggins was cast. But after Vikings one day, I saw Juan Pablo Raba was also cast. It was a no brainer to check it out. Don't look for a Taken type of show. but a real life slower paced, well thought out script, and human aspect. I love it.… Expand

I came for Vikings and stayed for Six. I'm an army brat so for me this totally resinated for me. This has that and most of all the family stories, reminds me of my childhood. Love movies like Black Hawk Down and Zero Dark Thirty. I'm hooked on this now.

The overall story of a hostage rescue and the interaction between the team members struggling to balance work and life is compelling. It's well told and does a decent job of covering the general hardships that military service brings. It's well told and does a decent job of covering the general hardships that military service brings. However, it's hard to actually serve in the military and watch this. There were many elements that were fabricated to make it more dramatic that doesn't happen. Special Operators have a lot of support available to them. This series made it seem like they had only the option to rely on themselves which is really untrue. The Department of Defense, SOCOM and NSWC all do a really good job of trying to handle situations involving PTSD and environmental stress that both RIP and Bare both exhibited. We leave no one behind on the battlefield and at home. I feel like the show really let me down on that part.… Expand

Keep racism out of your shows!! I was all about this show until I saw the token black guy wearing a disgusting Black Lives Matter patch on his uniform (which no real SEAL would be allowed to do).

All well and good up until the porn scene in the kitchen. I don't watch porn, don't wish to watch it in my TV shows. Sick and tired of these networks putting this garbage on TV. Its a shame.

SEAL committed a war crime (scalped a dead Tali), and murdered a prisoner who screamed he is an American. What a bunch of hokey. Sick, stupid, not accurate. Military porn. Not real history. C'mon history channel, you all can do better.… Expand
