It's just not very good. I got through most of episode 4 and gave up.
It's very formulaic, I don't care about any of the characters. The acting ranges from passable to bad. Multiple instances of thinking "people don't talk like that" whenIt's just not very good. I got through most of episode 4 and gave up.

The last straw was the use of boring pointless flashbacks (characters should wear their history in their mannerisms, choices, body language. Flashbacks are a sign of lazy writing 80% of the time) and awful child-acting.

I would give a lower score, but it gets the benefit of the remaining episodes' doubt. Things that may improve in the future include the worldbuilding (uninterestingly executed but has potential) and plot (currently appears to be a standard murder mystery/conspiracy).… Expand

Take Snowpiercer and stack the cars vertically underground, borrow the Fallout video games aesthetic and tah-dah! You have a brand new idea, right? It’s fine if you don’t have anything else to watch.

Gave up mid-way through the season out of boredom. They obviously spent money on the production design, and the cast. Too bad the source material is about as bland as YA sci-fi gets these days, with bland checklist storytelling. Lots ofGave up mid-way through the season out of boredom. Production values are good and acting, for the most part, is great. I'll say it, I can't stand Rebecca Furgeson. She can't act. This show looks and feels like all the extras from Zion got their own show and just like Matrix, they lack any substance. Way too much talking and not enough plot movement.

Updating as I trudged though it. I've upped my score.for.thw last two episodes as they carried the whole first season. I liked the ending as it's a great cliffhanger and it surprised me.given where I thought it was going, though I have some nagging questions. Here's the issue - too slow. The first two episodes set a good tone, but the middle 6 are a moody slog. The payoff was just enough to keep me interested in a second season.… Expand

Common's acting is so believable it was never jarring every time he was on screen. He fit right in with the other silo dwellers so well. His fellow actors could really learn a thing or two about one-dimensional acting!

had never heard of it, watched 5 episodes thus far. Enjoyable, reason for a 6? I am sick and tired of all seeing these race swapped characters. I am sick and tired of all seeing these race swapped characters. I looked up the books and the graphic novel, it is very clear to me that they race swapped the sheriff, not saying he's a bad actor at all though but what's the point of just having a male and female both white and married? How is that whole concept fallen out off out current society standards? Why force this interracial stuff? I don't understand why they're so hung up on blackwashing characters. If it's written white, let it stay white. I read that "Some" people don't like Rebecca Fergusson. I personally think when it comes to this role she's playing, she always seems mad, the way she expresses herself during conversations, it comes off as over-acting, I understand certain situations gives you a level of stress or so but hearing F*** a few times within a minute, gets old real fast. Though still I wanna say, I've seen worse actors out there that are A-listers whether it be a series or a movie.

Plot wise: I think it is "OKAY". Although you can see 'things' happening from miles away, every plot every 'so-called' twist is cliché to the max. The throwback to Rebecca Fergusson's character's childhood is something I skim through, they're just unnessacery fillers to fill up time, its annoying.

Haven't reached the ending yet but i'm sure nothing will surprise me at this point.
