Dec 3, 2016Even though it is not a masterpiece, Shooter is entertaining. Phillippe may not be Mark Wahlberg but he doesn't suck either. The longevity of the show is a mystery but at least it isn't a complete mess.

Nov 16, 2016I loved watching this with the kids. I know most people wouldn't want their kids to see this but I found it was a great introduction for them and can't wait until season 2.

Jan 15, 2017Mark Wahlberg as Executive Producer speaks volumes about how the TV series faithfully harkens back to the Movie and the original creators and book author. I really like this series and think it is under rated! I think Rhea Durham should be a guest star.

In general, the further Shooter strays from Phillippe’s character, the weaker the show becomes.

The problem with building an action drama around a sniper is that the work by its nature requires people to be several yards away from each other. A climactic gunfight in the season finale goes as far as to show the math--the mental calculations the shooters have to do to make their shot--to juice up the action. It doesn’t work. Shooter excels in one area--grotesque head shots.

Although the pilot sets up a potentially provocative scenario in which a law-abiding gun owner becomes an object of government suspicion, Shooter ultimately feels diluted and toothless.
