Boasting an extraordinarily thoughtful narrative, Sense8 showcases exquisite acting and authentic chemistry, which unfortunately does not always extend to the supporting cast. Simply put, Sense8 is one of the best TV Shows I ever saw. One of the few where I got to deeply care about the characters. The pilot may be a bit slow for a setup episode, but the rewards you get by watching it through are more than worth your patience.

I liked this first season in general. My view: very good original idea (not wisely exploited), but quite simple / cliched storylines of the individual characters, especially the Mexican soap opera actor (by the way, I am Spanish and it was somehow curious hearing Miguel Ángel Silvestre speak in English, I certainly wondered why they would choose a Spaniard to play a Mexican, when MexicoI liked this first season in general. As I am a language freak myself, it was a bit disappointing not hearing more Swahili, Korean, German, Hindi, Spanish... it's not necessary to fill the series with subtitles, but a little more local flavor would have been great, given that this is such an original plot (OK, too fantastic and forced sometimes, but that's what I expect in a series). Anyway there are a few remarkable and funny moments; my favorite characters are Nomi and Amanita, the former has some moving performances (and a beautiful voice), the latter is truly an angel. Naveen gives viewers a connection to Lost, a good wink since I think Lost and Fringe fans can enjoy this series. I can recommend it in spite of the shortcomings... the mix of world locations is a plus. In addition, I can figure out that further episodes will be more interesting because of the natural evolution of the plot that can lead to more interesting situations among the characters. Expand

Original, interesting, diverse and thrilling; all qualities that are much needed in a modern television series and ones that Sense8 has managed to incorporate into this extraordinarily produced and well performed piece of art.

It's pretty decent, but there's way too many "main" characters. 5 would be about the absolute maximum.

Also, it blatantly panders to specific demographics with the characters. It feels like a straight person wrote all the gay stuff and got it way, way wrong.

90% whining 10% story. The story part is entertaining though. I have only seen season one. Could do with a lot less banter. Characters over developed. Way too much filler crap. Would have made a great three part movie or something along those lines if it could be condensed.

My only problem with the series is that the eight protagonists should have the same relevance and time in camera and episodes. For example, Kala and Lito are the least coexisting with the rest, only to the end.
And too much is given to others, when the eights should be of equal importance. Especially Christmas and in only two hours they managed to solve this problem very well, everyone

I hope that the second season will be as good as the Christmas special.

This is schlock. If you want to see LGBT issues handled with subtlety, complexity, and finesse, watch Max Riemelt in ‘Free Fall’. Or observe how gay issues are dealt with in the Israeli production ‘Out in the Dark’. That’s another good film that approaches LGBT issues with intellect and respect for the viewer. Sense 8, however, is one of the clumsiest propaganda films that I have ever seen. Rather than generating sympathy for the LGBT community, I am convinced that the gay-bashing Westboro Baptist Church must have corroborated on this film. The clichés and heavy-handed condescension are utterly alienating. It will generate nothing but contempt for the LGBT community. It has the subtlety of Hitler’s blitzkrieg into Poland. And the ‘multi-cultural diversity’ is equally contrived and phony. I watched with the constant fear that the oh-so-perfectly-multi-cultural-multi-racial cast might suddenly come together and start singing “We Are the World”. There are a lot of good films and TV series that handle gay issues with grace, sophistication, and intelligence. This propaganda epic is more like a sledgehammer beating you over the head until your migraine makes you suicidal. I’ll take Leni Riefenstahl any day of the week over this inept polemic. Oh, and is there a science fiction plot in there somewhere? Really? I keep missing it. I can’t wait for ‘Free Fall 2’ to come out. Max Riemelt is too good for this maladroit indoctrination banality. I didn’t enjoy Sense Hate. That's all it will promote. Expand

Would love to have rated it a 10, but since they pulled a Fox Firefly bonehead move and cancelled it, I have to say no.

At the true end of season 2, Episode 11, there are a ton subplots going on. It ends in a big cliffhanger, and then they cancelled the show. They did a good job throwing us a bone with a 2 1/2 hour "wrapup" episode (the newly released episode 12), but it's still

They did a good job throwing us a bone with a 2 1/2 hour "wrapup" episode (the newly released episode 12), but it's still rushed and only half satisfying. They basically had to cut all the subplots and just shoot for finishing up and making us feel nice.

It did feel nice to have closure, but since this would have been one of the best shows ever made (most expensive as well, the reason they cancelled it), and it's now downgraded to an amazing show with half an ending, I can't really recommend it anymore.

Too bad, Netflix would have had a powerhouse with this, now they just have a reason to point at Executives and tell them they are idiots.

    Firefly 2.0.

Thank you all, who have taken part in making this project. It made me laugh and cry so many times. I will not talk about science accuracy but human life. I am ready to tell, no, scream about it to the whole world. The series every person must watch to understand the purity of life, aims, and judgements. There are to words in any language to describe my admiration. Thank you to the moon and back!

Sense8 is a show forever trapped between two things--its core artistic impulses and its need to over-explain everything that happens within its confines. That makes it at once beautiful and maddening, either a complete travesty or a whacked-out masterpiece--and sometimes both in the same scene.

The ultimate paradox of Sense8 is that it can give away so little about its ultimate destination in three hours of screen time, and still be seductive enough to make hour four an attractive proposition.
