Feb 29, 2016Scream fans will or won't take this series as the best exact copy of the movies. Scream was just getting bad enough with their movie installments, but this series manages to be better than the Scream sequels.
-
Sep 29, 2015Unfortunately it doesn't have the wit or talent of the first two Scream films, or even Harper's Island, which feels more its spiritual predecessor and major influence than the titular movies. The acting and script is middling, the middle episodes descend into filler and the identity of the killer is fairly obvious from early in the season.
-
Feb 7, 2017The killer appears 4 or 5 times maybe during the season, and he supposed to be the thrill & events maker of the series. I hate the show because of that

Jan 12, 2018"Scream" tries so hard to create a new classic, with its own mask and its own characters, providing a lot of twists and of blood. Too many twists, in my opinion, especially in season two, where everything felt too messed up. No characters, no realism, just blood. But maybe THIS is the meaning of "slasher". A simple story full of plot holes that people watch just to know who the killer is.

Aug 29, 2015This is like a super extended version of a movie, if you're not a fan of Scream nor even watched any of the movies you won't take this series 'till the end.

Mar 16, 2023A "quiet" series that whether you watch it or not, you lose absolutely nothing and doesn't add much. More than a spin-off of the films, it is a completely anthological series with respect to the original product.

Scream is a deferential adaptation well aware of its source material's strengths. It uses them to its advantage, fully embracing them for a result that, while never quite as salacious as the first film, is a more than worthy entry into Scream lore.
-
With MTV's Scream, anyone who has enjoyed the original is bound to be disappointed here.
-
The writers try to copy the conceit of the original “Scream,” a horror movie built on droll horror-movie references. But the efforts are often clumsy, flagged with a wink-winking that deadens the gimmick.
