One of the worst tv series based off a movie I've ever seen.

There are no redeeming qualities. Part of the beauty of the Scream movies was that it was funny and the characters knew they were in a horror movie. This series, on the other hand, feels like The Secret Life of the American Teenager with a killer thrown into the mix. It is not funny; it is not scary. It's a waste of time. It's

It's just basically a cheesy and dumb teen soap opera. Scream is one of my favorite horror movie franchises and this is not the way to respect it. This is just proof that MTV has gone down the drain (if Jersey Shore wasn't already proof of that).

And as for all these new TV series by MTV, turn on some lights in the studio! This and Teen Wolf are so dark that you can't see what's going on 75% of the time. I just wish we had gotten a whole new set of trilogies of Scream than this garbage. This show should've been called Stab (like the cheesy frame stories from the actual movie series).

This show makes you want to scream, I barely managed all of 5 minutes before turning it off. It is that bad, NO, it is really is that bad.

Amounting to a bunch of fake people, OMG OMG, they cannut act, acting in incredibly fakery in their fake cribs. Probably belonging on the Disney channel, the brady's get slashed, good riddance, these flat chested airbrushed fake-tans, nuances,

Spatter like this belongs in a toliet, not on some rehashed turdbowl entertainment show. There was a reason scream had a cult statis before franchising, because it combined all of the classic slasher elements with ordinary comical people. Not a bunch of **** wannabes fakesters who are probably about to audition for xfactor bursting into somkind of song and dance, I really don't know?

Awful. Watched the first episode and this series has NOTHING to do with with the original Scream movies. Coupled with bad acting, bad characters, poor storylines, and only small glimpses of actual horror. It makes me sad to see that this is the kind of thing that thing that passes for entertainment these days. So glad that I was born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s.

Giving this series a 2 based off of the fact it COULD get better. It has a glimpse of potential.

"Scream" was a transformational film when it was released in 1996. It started a new wave of horror and transformed the genre. "Scream" the TV series, produced by MTV, is none of those things. It's attempting to update the story to what life is like now, but the pilot fails to create compelling characters, is burdened by some horrific dialogue, and accomplishes nothing in its first hour. The opening scene -- meant to be a recreation of the iconic Drew Barrymore scene -- is terrible, as is the rest of the show. This feels like what happens when out of touch adults try to write catchy teenage characters and dialogue. Expand

Good characters, good setup but the silly girl with their pink phones and maddeningly poor string of decision making make this too hard to watch. Scream is a deferential adaptation well aware of its source material's strengths. It uses them to its advantage, fully embracing them for a result that, while never quite as salacious as the first film, is a more than worthy entry into Scream lore.

The writers try to copy the conceit of the original “Scream,” a horror movie built on droll horror-movie references. But the efforts are often clumsy, flagged with a wink-winking that deadens the gimmick.
