Mostly, "Run" is notable as a juicy vehicle for two topnotch performers, and to that extent, it's nice to see Wever (the "Nurse Jackie" alum who graduated to lead status in "Unbelievable") and Gleeson (a veteran of "Ex Machina" and the recent "Star Wars" trilogy) showcased in a different way. Yet at the risk of being totally honest, after watching five episodes, it's a show that appears fated to run out of gas before this train ever reaches its destination.

Run at least has an original premise behind it. But its execution feels half-measured on nearly every level: neither British or American, not quite satisfying character study or compelling mystery, not really relatable or escapist, not especially good or outright bad.

Though the series certainly isn’t blind to Ruby and Billy’s rather pronounced sense of entitlement, the chaos piling up in their wake becomes far less endearing than it’s seemingly meant to be. Ruby and Billy’s actions make them harder and harder to root for, and Run becomes unable to sustain itself beyond the initial thrill of their reunion.

I like them, they irritate me and I cheer for them. Additional characters are sparse, but they add something to the plot.
In the very first scene we get that Ruby is frustrated with her husband, and her life, a little bit why even; and the action begins in the same scene! And it is fast from there. The only caveat is that actions are driven by emotions here, not punches, bullets or even bullet points. If it seems to be Your thing give it a try.

Barely finished the first episode. What a snoozer. Nothing about the two leads interests me.
