I liked the introduction with Obi-Wan's new lifestyle( his jawa, his dead-end job and public transportation ), but the show becomes blurry afterwards. for some reason there's a copy of the dramatic matrix trinity rooftop chase scene but it doesnt lead anywhere to justify it's existence, a scene from one of the sw movies with stomach-stabbing, which maybe they hoped would be as impressive,I liked the introduction with Obi-Wan's new lifestyle( his jawa, his dead-end job and public transportation ), but the show becomes blurry afterwards. for some reason there's a copy of the dramatic matrix trinity rooftop chase scene but it doesnt lead anywhere to justify it's existence, a scene from one of the sw movies with stomach-stabbing, which maybe they hoped would be as impressive, but it lack's a comparible build-up. a black character is annoying and demanding without much reason, and at this point you can ask yourself...anyway they also copied some scenes from jon wick because maybe they thaugt it was cool...any dedictated fan could have written something better but i guess the movie industry is occupied by rich parents douchebag-kids nowadays. I guess a 5/10 suits it so far. This is standard Star Wars, the first two episodes did not blow me away. It's great to see Ewen McGregor again as ol' Obi-Wan, but yeah - if you're not a Star Wars fan then this show will do nothing to convert you. I like the fan service they provided (especially the recap in episode 1) but outside of that, I wouldn't recommend the show. I don't hate it butI guess a 5/10 suits it so far. I am not gonna lie, the show, feels very off, almost like a cartoon, there are a ton of punches which were pulled, some reveals are just plain stupid, villian is eh, still watchable , but very much an EH show

I only gave it a 3 because of the respect I have for the character. Well, the character of the previous movies, not this Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan leaves Luke? Leia is very obnoxious. The writers of this show could care less about that. They only care about making Reva look good and making Kathleen Kennedy happy. Expand

#StarWarsCanon broken in multiple areas besides poor storytelling. clearly we're seeing another #BaitnSwitch w #Kenobi portrayed as a broken down pathetic male who is humiliated before death. #Vader never encountered #Kenobi before #StarWarsIV so that's been tossed aside

It treats Obi Wan like how they treated Luke in the Last Jedi. Not to mention the show constantly breaks continuity. Apparently, the writer didn't watch Revenge of the Sith.

I'm just disappointed in Disney for ruining Obi-Wan as a character. He doesn't act like the Jedi that I've come to know either in the Prequels or the original movies. I've learned two things since then- avoid Obi-Wan Kenobi and buffalo wings; both are like the plague.

    Obi-Wan deserved better than this.

Much has already been written about the writing and directing, which can alternate between adequate and surprisingly poor. And, to be sure, a good amount of that criticism is warranted. This series may well leave you wondering how a limited run title with this much legacy, fan support and budget could come out feeling so undercooked. Yes, some of the plot points and dialog are weak. Yes, some of the action sequences and editing choices are puzzling bordering on laughable. Yes, some of the special effects look like they never received their finishing touches. All of that is on display, but the worst offense in the series "Obi-Wan Kenobi" is how it handles its namesake.

In this series, the venerable Jedi is now a deeply fearful man, consumed with regret, who has lost seemingly all of the calm dedication and martial prowess that was his hallmark for literally every other film and television series featuring him up to this point. The knight who unflinchingly stood against Sith Lords, bounty hunters, literal armies of opposition and Darth Vader himself, is now seemingly incapable of anything more than trading some blaster fire and running for his life in between panic attacks.

We are supposed to understand that in the 10 years since his last film appearance, Obi-Wan has cut of all connection to the Force, ceased any form of training and has simply been hiding out -- thus, we are to believe, his jarring ineffectiveness. He even tells a potential ally that all hope is lost; that they should lay low in perpetuity, effectively doing nothing to help anyone. But this character re-write doesn't actually work when we consider that A) Kenobi's mission - which he has been quietly awaiting - is to train a young Luke Skywalker as a Jedi B) he, Kenobi, has been given additional skills to hone from Master Yoda in preparation for the years ahead and C) such a meek surrender to tyranny and evil goes against everything we've known about the character for roughly 40 years now. It's an ill-conceived cop out from the writing room that just doesn't convince.

By the third episode, when the former Jedi is called upon to summon at least a glimpse of the skill and valor that he demonstrated so routinely years before, there is almost nothing there. It's not so much a decline as it is a complete re-fashioning of the character for the sake of villain fan service.

    What a waste. (Subscription cancelled).

With all the creative possibilities for an Obi-Wan series, this is what they came up with? This show is full of plot holes. The writing is terrible. The story focus should have been on Obi-Wan and Darth Vadar, not Leia and that inquisitor lady. It doesn't even make sense with the movies. It's forgettable after you watch it. At least for me anyway.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Kenobi Series in its first two episodes are not very good. The story from the beginning of the show does not center around Kenobi but a new character Reva and young Princess Leia. Reva is not a convincing villain and considering the opening will most like be a redeemed villain by the seasons end. The writing is not very good as the powers given to Reva is not consistent. At one point she reads the mind of a fake jedi to find Kenobi yet early on in the show she could have read the mind of Owen Lars and would have found Kenobi about 10 feet away. The chase scene with little Princess Leia is something you would get out of a Benny Hill episode in the 70's. In fact, speed it up a little put Benny Hill music to it and you will laugh. I know Kenobi is supposed to be broken but why does he want to train Luke if using his powers will only tip of Inquisitors. I watched this show to see Kenobi broken but committed to protecting Luke using his powers as needed. What I am getting is another broken down Luke Skywalker. We have seen this before. It doesn't add anything to the Star Wars Universe. I was bored. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Started off a bit exciting but quickly evolved into typical Disney garbage. The acting is flat, even for Ewin. Reva is an insufferable character, like an over the top teenager. Not to mention her as an actor claiming to be the first POC to be represented in the franchise is a complete insult to Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover. Leia’s actor wasn’t that great, but we can blame the director for that because they’re not giving her notes to improve with. The lightsaber duel was incredibly underwhelming, communing with quigon all these years, and the way Kenobi is portrayed in the final episode of rebels demonstrates how uneducated the directors and producers are towards the Star Wars franchise. Not good - had a lot of promise but there are way to many plot inconsitancies and holes along with bait and switch characterization. Kenobi's depression etc... was not convincing when he should have been training - this needed to be hashed out - And characters knowing who he is and finding him easily was not well explained. Too much show magic vs good writing - the force is weak in this one!

Even worse than the book of Boba Fett. Sometimes less is more, I don't think there was any reason to make these series about the characters, they are less interesting when they have some Disneyfied lame expanded story about them. The Leia character cant act (bless her) and the story is just boring and dull. I gave up after episode 3.

Ewan McGregor was last seen as Obi-Wan, he brings more depth, more of a world-weary wisdom to the role. ... As is the case with many a “Star Wars” title, the dialogue sometimes borders on the corny, but director Deborah Chow (“The Mandalorian”) has a keen sense of pacing and a distinct visual style that holds our interest even in the quieter moments. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is off to a roaring start.
