Very disappointed by the first two episodes. The Leia story feels odd and really didn't want to see Obi-Wan looking for her, but going on a more philosophical quest. CGI has a kind of prequel vibe, and some scenes were as clunky as pointless. Ewan McGregor is awesome, though, and I hope Vader's involvement saves the rest of the episodes.

2 things ruined this show in an instant.

    1. The god awful Leia chase scene in the woods.

    2. Killing off the only Villain character I was enjoying in Episode 2.

I was skeptical at first but the 3rd episode really won me over. Loving this peek at this part of the Skywalker saga timeline. Young Leia delivers many of her lines like a sassy young Carrie Fisher might. And I need to know more about the Third Sister!

Disney+ Stat Wars shows are killing it. This show already kicks so much ass. Famdon Menace is terrible.

Three episodes in and I'm absolutely blown away. The returning and new cast members do a stunning job, with a sharp script, wonderful music and locations. I thoroughly enjoyed The Mandolorian, and The Book of Boba, but Kenobi has been my favourite series yet.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had so much hope for this show since obi Wan has been my favorite character since I was a child. Unfortunately it proved to be just another attempt by Disney to break down a well loved character. The man took down two sith apprentices plus grievous but somehow is a shambling mess when faced with a new strong female villain. The villain herself wasn't the greatest actress but atleast she had more of the empire/sith mindset. Somehow the other inquisitors have a moral code when it comes to kidnapping children, when we all know the empire is evil and will stop at nothing to finish off the jedi even if it means destroying entire planets. The chase scene in the second episode felt like I was watching a power rangers episode.it was plain to see her tiny legs couldn't run so how do the writers make up for it? "Oh just have them wave their arms around and run into objects they could clearly see in advance". I know it was a chase involving a six year old Leia but this is where good writing can save you. It just feels like Disney doesn't understand star wars or its characters mentalities or even cares to. It shows with the sequels and is now showing again with Kenobi. The Mandolorian was such a breathe of fresh air. Unfortunately this show is like getting sucked back under the waves Expand

The recent Disney+ shows have been pretty good - most notably The Mandalorian Season 2 - and this is right up there with the second season if not better. The sets, acting, and everything else is fantastic so far, and I hope it all continues for the next several episodes. The surprise casting/character of the season is great (again, don’t listen to the trolls who will find a reason to complain about everything), and brings heart to the series. I’m a big fan of Rogue One and when Star Wars take a little more realistic, grown up approach, and if you’re like this. And if you are a fan of the prequels, or just have nostalgia for them, then you’ll love this, because it appears this series will do those characters right.

It's a moving exploration of Obi-Wan's trauma anchored by an amazing performance from Ewan McGregor. This is why Star Wars fans wanted an Obi-Wan show so much. We knew it was a recipe for something meaningful.

Best piece of Star Wars content to have been released in the past 15 years, maybe on par with Rogue One. Don’t be racist. Reva’s character is totally fine.

This is the worst Star Wars series to date. It's even worse than Book of Boba Fett. It has terrible acting, writing, characters and directing. Episodes 1 and 2 were bad already but episode 3 managed to make this series even worse. There is no room for redemption for this garbage and anyone who rates this positively has no credibility.

Do yourself a favour and skip it or atleast do not

Hyden and Ewan's performances will undoubtedly be good but Moses Ingram’s Inquisitor Reva, Rupert Friend’s Grand Inquisitor, Kumail Nanjiani’s Haja Estree, Benny Safdie’s Nari was really bad. It's a shame Disney has to look for diversity over talent. Let the best actors get the roles period.

Ewan was great. I am hopeful for where it might go, but also fearful that it might add in spykids stylized speeder gangs.

Brett at Decider is part of the rebel alliance & a traitor and needs to be taken away.
It's the only explanation for the ease of his glowing review. He watched an HBO series by accident and thought it was 'kinda spacey lookin' and mistook it for Star Wars. Either that or he was paid in 'the force is female' t-shirts and pyjamas.

It works when Ewan or Joel Edgerton are onscreen. They have gravitas despite the script and direction. But this is another series that people would be far more critical of if not set in the Star Wars universe.
The supporting actors are mostly terrible and so 2 dimensional I imagine they couldn't do profile shots for fear they'd just disappear offscreen.
The extras are clearly people who were instantly hired when asked the question 'have you ever acted before, and do you know how a normal person reacts when afraid or in danger' and they answered 'no'.
To avoid spoilers, there's a scene where a small, what appears to be bow legged character is confronted by some 'bad guys' and those 'bad guys' should've been able to apprehend the small character in 3 easy steps... but instead, we have to watch them do the 'run really slow... but PRETEND you're trying to run fast' maneuver.
    It's laughable.
    Except it's cryable, if that's a thing.
The trailers have fooled us again, and our nostalgic hearts and love for the original trilogy will try to make us convince ourselves this isn't awful. But it is. Search your feelings... you know it to be true.
I just don't get why a company with so much money can't make a tv series that feels and looks as filmic or expensive as other, much better and cheaper series feel and look.
Mickey and Kathleen need an intervention, ASAP.

Obi-Wan had a larger problem: It was dumb as a rock. Simple rules of spatial logic went out the window. Main characters kept almost killing each other, and then walking away long enough for their wounded opponent could recover.

McGregor is wholly up to the challenge of shouldering the emotional weight of this series, which feels less like a cynical cash grab (despite being that) than a natural continuation of the saga that Lucas crafted more than two decades ago.

Ewan McGregor was last seen as Obi-Wan, he brings more depth, more of a world-weary wisdom to the role. ... As is the case with many a “Star Wars” title, the dialogue sometimes borders on the corny, but director Deborah Chow (“The Mandalorian”) has a keen sense of pacing and a distinct visual style that holds our interest even in the quieter moments. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is off to a roaring start.
