Penhall and Fincher diligently avoided romanticizing or mythologizing [the serial killers], instead exposing the mundane grotesqueries of their pathetic, broken natures—the petty resentments, the self-deception, the delusional narcissism, the sexual and social impotence. Season 2 carries on in the same vein, but with a breathtaking urgency largely missing from the more ambling first season. Read full review

The soul-crushing dread that comes from looking into an abyss and realizing that you may never comprehend its nature is vividly felt in the performances of Groff, Torv and especially McCallany, who is phenomenal as a morally upright man struggling to maintain his composure, and sanity, in the face of unspeakable inequity. The show’s narrative is more cohesive this season, too. The team is driven to collect more data from the killers because the so-called Atlanta Child Murders are unfolding and they want to help out with their newfangled profiling. The series continues to look amazing and feel unnerving throughout. But if we keep following this story deeper into the techniques that Ford, Tench, and Carr are developing, Mindhunter is eventually going to land in the same narrative territory already covered extensively by all the movies and TV shows inspired by the real version of this work. While it mostly hangs together for now, there are already more signs of strain than there were back in 2017. Read full review

Even better than the first season and continually proves why this is the show on Netflix to beat. A bit of a slow start but as soon as you move past that the subject material becomes so engrossing (I grew up in Kansas City so the BTK especially hits home for me.) The interviews with the subjects aren't nearly as prevalent as the first season, but the investigation that the crew gets swept up into helps pick up the pieces quite well. Mindhunter continues to be the best crime show currently on television.

A solid, if inferior season to the spectacular 1st season. The 2nd season's stories about Tench's son and Dr. Carr's relationship is either too convenient or too frivolous. Is Dr. Carr even necessary for the plot of this season? The acting and production values are still top notch.

Season 1 has more tension. Both start off slow, but you never get the same tension you get in first season. The acting, production, and directing are sill fantastic. The Atlanta Child Murders just drag on.

This show is pretty good, but what has made it worse than the first season is the obnoxious lesbian character who was not as big a characters in the first series. She is completely shoehorned into the show and is portrayed as morally superior to the, surprise, surprise white men.This show is pretty good, but what has made it worse than the first season is the obnoxious lesbian character who was not as big a characters in the first series. Unfortunately what we have her is the retarded liberal politics spoiling what is otherwise a very good show. Still worth a watch, just do what I do, fast forward when this characters is on screen. Don't worry, you won't miss anything, her character is completely irrelevant and adds nothing to the show or advances the plot in any way.… Expand

I'm Dutch. Love the season 1, have seen this 4 times. Wat mij raakt waren de interviews met de seriemoordenaars (serialkillers). En de perfecte rollen van al deze acteurs, die deze seriemoordenaars uitbeelden, stuk voor stuk.. Uiteraard Edmund Kemper, maar allen waren daarin voortreffelijk.I'm Dutch. Love the season 1, have seen this 4 times. Wat mij raakt waren de interviews met de seriemoordenaars (serialkillers). En de perfecte rollen van al deze acteurs, die deze seriemoordenaars uitbeelden, stuk voor stuk.. Uiteraard Edmund Kemper, maar allen waren daarin voortreffelijk. De samenspel tussen Holden en Tench en Wendy Carr. Season 2, pakte mij iets minder. Waarom moet Torv een lesbienne uitbeelden? We leven niet allemaal in Amerika. In Nederland is dit volledig geaccepteerd, dus ik hoef geen Hollywood achtige les te leren. Het irriteert mij alleen maar. Hoewel toentertijd een complete mannenwereld. Toch zie ik nu de meerwaarde er niet van in mbt serie Mindhunter. Waarom, leg dat dan uit in de serie. Daarnaast Anna Burgess is getrouwd en heeft kinderen. Eerste homohuwelijk vond sowieso plaats in Nederland. Is hier gewoon geaccepteerd.. Ga svp verder met de insteek van seizoen 1. Interviewing de serialkillers en het groeien van de FBI hierin. Anders kom je denk ik niet veel verder dan een seizoen 3. Snap zoon van Tench, van eventueel ontstaan van een seriemoordenaar: overreagerende, bijna verstikkende moeder en een afwezige vader en toch.. De jongen kan ook autistisch zijn. Is mij helemaal niet duidelijk. vond Holden in seizoen 2 weak. Do please better next season.… Expand
