Daredevil is still strong in its sophomore outing, a muscular and visually mesmerizing series that continues to explore its gritty, intense corner of the MCU even as it tells its own stories and, crucially, builds characters complete and compelling enough to exist both within its boundaries and (if the Man Without Fear, the Punisher, or Elektra end up tapped for Infinity War) without them. Punisher and Elektra make it hard for Matt and Daredevil to operate and both Bernthal and Yung spend a lot of the first half of the season upstaging Cox, who has to capture a struggle that's internal, while his scene partners are playing things that are very external. And the two new additions are so vivid that there's a challenge to remain wholly invested in plotlines that don't involve them, which is tough for Foggy and, in particular, Karen.... But Daredevil still has its brooding, punchy pieces in place for a promising second season. Read full review

Daredevil” isn’t only mindlessly violent, but mindless, too. The cast is terrific, production values superlative and direction first-rate.... But is there a functioning brain, or at least a higher purpose, maybe a deeper one? Like Matt’s own search for meaning, good luck finding answers. Read full review

Every now and then, there will be a great moment, like the aforementioned Punisher monologue, or Henson's Foggy calming down a violent situation, but on the whole it's too unfocused to entirely work, and has to lean even more than before on the inherent charisma of its actors. Read full review

The second season of Daredevil compounds the failures of the first.... The Season 2 introduction of the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), a brutal vigilante inspired by Daredevil, could have had real charge if it didn't just feel like a trailer for Bernthal's own stand-alone series. Eventually, something's going to have to justify Daredevil's tonal excesses. Until then, we're left fumbling in the dark. Read full review

it is rare that i find a show i enjoy this much and like even more when it gets a second season, i just came from watching the last episode with its elegant taste still in my mouth, from the still perfectly fitting intro to the dark and gritty seemingly R rated fight scenes DareDevil takes ait is rare that i find a show i enjoy this much and like even more when it gets a second season, i just came from watching the last episode with its elegant taste still in my mouth, from the still perfectly fitting intro to the dark and gritty seemingly R rated fight scenes DareDevil takes a step up from its previous season to deliver even more story, and what a truly wonderful story that is. to add to its greatness and the importance of this review, this is actually my first review on this site and i don't plan to review anything else because i made an account and this review purely because of this show and in light of how critics are bashing Batman V Superman even though it is a perfectly fine film yes it has its falls but it is by no means bad, i felt i had to write a review because it seems as of late critics just are not doing comic book tv shows and movies any justice, which probably stems from the fact that the majority of critics simply can't understand them because every time they do something new the fans love it but the critics hate it. Don't bother listening to critics and if you do want to hear a critique about something love like comics and comic book movies listen to people who love them to not those that only dabble because they don't fully appreciate what you and so many others like you do.… Expand

Wow, just wow. If you thought the original season was good, wait till you get a load of this. I can't believe this surpassed my expectations. This is by far my favourite thing the MCU has produced thus far.

Outstanding, intense, action packed and emotionally impactful. Many story lines weave together well and only ocassionally misstep. You know there must be a lot of good stuff going on if you find yourself wishing for episodes that focus more on secondary characters and less on the main. The action is better, Punisher is great, Elektra is a very interesting take on the character, but the story feels a bit messy and even rushed at times.
