    This show is amazing. Darker and more gritty than I normally like, but it's so good that it doesn't matter. If you like superheroes or action at all, please watch this show. It's so well done.

    The show is just amazing. The acting, the action, story, characters are all amazing. I don't think I've seen a better TV show in 10 years. Don't waste your time reading anymore reviews just watch it!

    Great show that functions as a love letter to the Frank Miller comic run, one of the all-time quality books you can read both in general and for Daredevil.

    The supporting cast is very good and characters get a lot of shared screen time, exploring street level hero stuff in ways we haven't seen and providing some real grit and action like never before in this genre.     Daredevil raises the bar of what a comic book based tv show should be. The acting and the stunts, in particular were awesome. They took Daredevil's fighting style, with all the flips and the actual boxing moves, straight from the comics.

    Just finished the fourth episode. Matt as a protagonist and Fisk as an antagonist are great. The fight scenes are better than I've seen in any Marvel movie (that hallway fight was incredible). So far daredevil is starting off on the right foot.

    Hands down the best thing marvel has put on my TV. Dark and Gritty, still has lighthearted moments. Kingpin might be the best villain in any comic book based live action program. My favorite 1st season of any show I've watched.

    This show is seriously one of the best shows I have ever seen in my whole entire life. I would compare it to Breaking Bad in such that is takes the time to tell a brilliantly written story first before delivering in on perfect quantities and qualities of action scenes. You feel an emotional attachment to every character due to how well each one is written and how much back story you get to see, it is all so brilliant. The action and violence couldn't be better, this show is gritty and dark but never seems like it goes a little too far and gets annoying about it, letting humor shine through often, its fantastic. I am already looking up daily for when this show gets renewed for season 2, don't keep us waiting passed 2015 please! Definitely check this show out! BINGE IT!… Expand

    It is an excellent and well done series. You get the gritty action that just isn't possible on any broadcast series, and Theaters seem risk averse to the Hard R stories encased in the series. It's nice that shows like this can now find a home outside of HBO.

    I only found myself a little bored in one episode of the 13 when key characters had a huge info dump, but the cognitive dissidence    It is an excellent and well done series.     I only found myself a little bored in one episode of the 13 when key characters had a huge info dump, but the cognitive dissidence the characters had during that episode was interesting for the drama. I was mostly bored due to already knowing the information the characters had to figure out. It also may have had something to do with the prior episode having one of the best fight scenes in the entire series that played out bit by bit though the entire episode.

    This show gets a 10 just for bringing darkness and maturity in comic transfers to screen. I mean up to this moment, every approach on this matter was directed to audiences 10-15, and with Arrow, up to 18, but Daredevil has the atmosphere and the moves for adults. Casting, acting, music and all other aspects (directing and photo included) are pretty great too.

    This is one of the best new shows I have watched in a while. I' try to support any comic based media venture, but this show truly has the look and feel of the comics. Good job Marvel. Nuff Said.

    After the first episode, tears were swelling up, I cried. I've seen most of the marvel adaptions and have always felt so empty from them. In fact my favorite Marvel production's seem to come from Sony (which is kinda sad considering the fact that they kinda butchered spider man). Marvel's Daredevil is probably one of the most faithful adaptions of a marvel character. Daredevil is very different from anything Marvel has ever done before. It Is Violent. It Is edgy and it is definitely not made for the simple minded Marvel fan boy. Daredevil is a dark, disturbing(with some fun, it is a comic book adaption), slow burn that really takes it's time to develop one of the marvel's most unique hero Daredevil. Daredevil is worth yur time and I very much recommend watching it.… Expand

    Daredevil easily is the best Marvel adaptation ever. Unlike other marvel movies, Daredevil is a very well written dark show with a lot of thrilling aspects. The portrayal of Matt Murdock character is very humane and grounded. We can see that he is just a person with gifted ability who is trying to save his city while struggling to live a normal life. Weirdly, this is also what happensDaredevil easily is the best Marvel adaptation ever. Unlike other marvel movies, Daredevil is a very well written dark show with a lot of thrilling aspects. The portrayal of Matt Murdock character is very humane and grounded. We can see that he is just a person with gifted ability who is trying to save his city while struggling to live a normal life. Weirdly, this is also what happens with the villain of this show (Wilson Fisk). It's very rare that we get to know a villain in such a deep personal level and that is what's great about this show. The other aspect about this show that i really like is that they don't go with a procedural show which can become predictable and boring really soon. Instead, throughout the season we'll get to know more about the characters in this show. Acting-wise, this show is very well acted. Charlie Cox gives a remarkable performance as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. His chemistry with Rosario Dawson and Elden Henson is so on point. Not to mention all the well choreographed action scene that he claimed he did it mostly by himself. Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk portrayed a human side of a villain like we've never seen before.… Expand

    Amazing action scenes, best so far in this series. Direction and writing + great cast made this prolly the best season on the Nextflix MCU. Kingpin made a great job as villain. I feel bad for Iron Fist and Luke Cage but they miss what Daredevil have: quality of writing and direction.

    Most exciting show in years.
    Not only action packed but awesome character development as well! The pace is great too as we learn how Mathew became the Devil of Hell's Kitchen and Fisk turns into Kingpin.

    We all (well, most of us) hated Daredevil with Affleck portraying the character who everyone knows but doesn't know about, if that makes sense, so it was everyone's right to be at least, concerned, when they announced a series. But, a lot of us were surprised when the series actually gave more than what we all bargained for.

    The show has a great atmosphere, and is extremely dark, but it    We all (well, most of us) hated Daredevil with Affleck portraying the character who everyone knows but doesn't know about, if that makes sense, so it was everyone's right to be at least, concerned, when they announced a series. But, a lot of us were surprised when the series actually gave more than what we all bargained for.

    The show has a great atmosphere, and is extremely dark, but it has a couple of jokes fitted around. The characters are greatly acted, and the story is one of the greatest stories that has been on TV recently.

    Daredevil is a must-watch for Superhero fans, DC, Marvel or both. And I'm sure, you'll enjoy it!    … Expand

There are things you probably don't need to hear: the show is visually excellent, with its tone personally accompanied by the scenes' color atmospheres. The score is epic and grand. Matt Murdock finds himself a brutal fighter, taking extreme measures to keep Hell's Kitchen in order. He is forced to ask just how far he must go to keep his city safe. Conversely, Wilson Fisk, powerful and omnipresent crime lord is sincere, emotional, and earnest in his demeanor. He really does aim to fix Hell's Kitchen in his own way. He and Matt find themselves working toward the same end, but with conflicting approaches. A show just as intelligent and engaging in its plot as it is exciting and thrilling in its action, it stands as the pinnacle achievement of the MCU. Daredevil is not to be missed.… Expand

    Wow... I am not a fan of the Daredevil comic-book character, but this series may have changed my mind. It is an excellent mix of a new darker grittier style with Marvel's typical cinematic style.

    A great tribute to the man without fear. With its noir style and decent cast , I simply can't wait for more. A great improvement from Agents of Shield and the slightly better Agent Carter.

    Everything we hoped Gotham would be and more. Finally a superhero TV show done right; A-level acting, production, direction, action sequences, and sound production. The best surprise in 'TV' since True Detective.

    Season by season,. episode by episode this show is simply doing great. I Loved the way they are slowly but steadily developing the character. It does keep suspense Alive and give us in-depth information about the character. Excited for next season since daredevil is going to be on Bullseye's hit list!

    Can't stop watching this show. I love the characters, the story, the actors and the way the director portrays Daredevil's senses. The action scenes are amazing, and we finally see some blood and gore in a Marvel's adaptation. I can't believe what Netflix has managed to do, and I consider this show one of the best this season.     It starts off so well and hardly ever fails to keep you interested. The fact that it's based on a Marvel character that isn't well known will attract many viewers. I personally think that Daredevil is an underrated comic hero and this is a well fitting tribute to him. The story is inspiring and could end up becoming one of the greatest TV series of recent times.

I am not a fan of strong violence but I am a fan of dark and gritty storytelling. This show does not disappoint at all. In fact, this is the best entry from MCU, movies and TV shows combined.

    There are a lot of strong points about this show so I will start with    When I hear that Daredevil is going to be the darkest entry for the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise so far, I am excited. I am not a fan of strong violence but I am a fan of dark and gritty storytelling. This show does not disappoint at all. In fact, this is the best entry from MCU, movies and TV shows combined.

    There are a lot of strong points about this show so I will start with the strongest one. The strongest point about this show is the consistent writing and storytelling. Every episode has almost a different writer and director, not to mention the changing of showrunners during the production and yet, there is no noticeable change at all in its storytelling at all. It’s consistent.

    The next one is the strong cast performances. I am very impressed that all of the main cast played their roles so excellently but the best ones are from Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Charlie Cox did a perfect job as The Man Without Fear. He is like the Robert Downey Jr. of the TV department of MCU, he is irreplaceable to me. I can’t see anyone else play Matt Murdock other than Charlie Cox. As for Vincent D’Onofrio, he played the main villain of this season Wilson Fisk perfectly as well. His performance made his character a much more sympathetic villain that I sometimes question myself if I should be on his team instead.

    The character development is another strong highlight and there are a lot that I wish I can tell in this review without spoiling. So here are the ones that I can tell without spoiling instead. I really felt satisfied about Matt Murdock’s past from his past as a kid to how he was able to fight to why he became a vigilante at night without getting too much as we need to save more for next season. I also loved how we see that Matt Murdock is still learning as a vigilante in a form of trial and error and not how he excelled his skills quite fast. One problem with MCU’s villains is that most of them are very one-dimensional and the only ones who are not are Loki and Ultron. I am glad we get to see a third-dimensional villain in this show and I really loved how Wilson Fisk was written and like I said before, D’Onofrio’s performance made Wilson Fisk a sympathetic villain.

    I am not usually a big fan of action scenes as I don’t usually care at all but the action scenes here in this show made me hug my pillow out of anticipation. The best part of those action scenes is that they’re very realistic as we see Daredevil being tired at certain times during a fight. The end of the second episode is one example in which we get to see TV’s best action scene ever, blockbuster style.

    The direction and the cinematography is excellent for this kind of show and it’s quite appealing to the eye. Also, despite being dark, this show still has the MCU humor that we know and love.

    Daredevil is the best TV show this year so far for me. We’ll have to see if the fifth season of Game of Thrones or the second season of True Detective can beat Daredevil but for now, this show takes the crown for me.    … Expand

    True to comic book lore our hero is Matt Murdock, a blind attorney and son of a boxer, Jack Murdock. For people interested in the show and not familiar with the character, I will spare you any spoilers. So far they seem to be running true to the comics on this. Adapting a comic book hero to television or movies can be difficult and typically some artistic license may need to occur to make good programming. I am OK with that.

    Charlie Cox is doing a fine job thus far as Matt Murdock, AKA the Daredevil. Our leading lady through the first 3 episodes is the lovely Deborah Ann Woll a native New Yorker from Brooklyn. Miss Woll is a graduate of the University of Southern California BFA acting program. So far she seems to have the chops for the role. The surprise has been Eldon Henson as Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock’s BFF and law partner. This guy is single-handedly bringing the comic relief that this dark and dramatic show needs. Let there be no mistake about it, through the first three episodes this is no Disney trip gang, the show is tackling some heavy human interest and nasty criminal activity. It is dark, it is gritty, and it is good.

    Without giving away spoilers, I will say I enjoy the flashbacks to Matt Murdock’s childhood with his boxer father. I like the build up to the big conspiracy that will likely result in a showdown at some point between Daredevil and Kingpin. They are masking the villains in a juicy veil of mystery and I like that a lot. Toby Leonard Moore is portraying the man named Wesley that always makes nebulous reference to “his employer”. This guy is selling the goods as the semi-creepy contact between the thugs and the boss. He has charisma, class and just enough sneaky villainesque to pull off the whole, “liaison man” in front of the big picture conspiracy.

    Marvel appears to have a lot of control with this Netflix Original series and they have quietly tied the whole revitalization of Hell’s Kitchen to the big destructive event at NYC from the end of the Avengers Movie with a few Easter Eggs.

    Load up Netflix and start watching this right now!

    This season alone justified my entire annual subscription to Netflix. What a pleasure to watch. The acting and writing was superb. And I fell in love with the dark and gritty environment of Hell's Kitchen. I eagerly look forward to season 2.

    I have watched the first 2 episodes and it's off to a great start. There's an action sequence at the end of episode 2 which pays homage to the Raid franchise. Think of a darker and more stylized Arrow. Netflix does it again.

    Absolutely terrific show- though incredibly brutal at times. Wasn't sure about Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock at first, but he really does a great job. Broody enough to make the torture scenes believable, yet charming enough to make you care when he gets beat up. Can't wait to see season 2.

    This show is so good my God. You just fall in love with the characters and has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The way the story keeps progressing is outstanding. You need to watch this show(If you have Netflix).

    For those of us who are long term comic book fans, and fans of great action sequences this show is a home run. It has great characters, it has great origin stories for not just the good guy but for the bad guys as well. You see the motivation of "Kingpin" and really his ideals and Daredevils ideals are not all that far apart.     I have watched the first three episodes and am hooked. Some of the action sequences are breathtaking and are shot in one shot or they have used some kinda trickery. I would Definately recommend u try this series out. And no I'm not a marvel fanboy and am not a big fan of the other super hero tv series but daredevil is something special

    I have watched every episode of season 1 now. Each episode was fantastic. This is the first time I have ever seen Daredevil portrayed so accurately outside of the comics.

    First episode was amazing, giving the insight of Daredevil, but at the same time gave a chance for other characters in the series not just making it about him. Throughout the show was breathtaking, and not for one minute making it boring. Ending episode was epic, showing a bit of the Daredevil actual suit. In one word the show would be, 'exhilarating'.

    This is probably the best super hero show that I have seen so far. It is incredibly dark and well done. The metascore is idiotic as it deserves a much higher score! Seriously what the f***? Critics are worthless.

    The user score here is a 9/10 and the Netflix score is also about a 9/10, so ignore the BS metascore.

Since this is for Netflix streaming, the entire show is one long 13 hour movie! Plenty of time to develop the characters, backstory, etc. Netflix has executed a masterstroke teaming with Marvel to create these new series (I am on Daredevil episode 10. OMG this is so @%%#%@% GOOD! Marvel has created a new genre.. a superhero show that is hearfelt, violent and feels very real. Since this is for Netflix streaming, the entire show is one long 13 hour movie! Plenty of time to develop the characters, backstory, etc. Netflix has executed a masterstroke teaming with Marvel to create these new series ( Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist) There has not been a Netflix series that was a worthy reason for me to join Netflix until now...     Not the simplistic "good versus evil" typical Marvel story here. Daredevil shows humans with different plans and different moral opinions. Also, the hero is an human being credible, vulnerable, and prone to make mistakes. In this order the show is reminiscent of the Nolan's Batman. I think that Daredevil is simply the best history of an hero ever told by Marvel.

    Marvel's Daredevil took away any memory i had from Ben Affleck's one. It got what i found being the best action scenes for a tv show, it got great actors on screen and a strong script. My only complaint it's the series could be more connected to the MCU. Surely worth to watch, specially if you're a Marvel fan

    Taking place within the same cinematic universe as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk, Daredevil follows its own unique storyline with nothing but a subtle reference here and there to remind you that you’re still in the world of the Avengers. Whether this connection intrigues you or just turns you off, be wary not to associate the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen with the humour and light-heartedness of his avenging counterparts.

    For those who complain Marvel is too kid-friendly for their liking, Daredevil is either a breath of fresh air or a slap in the face to let them know they’re wrong. Revealing the darker side of Marvel’s expansive roster, the show follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind man with all his other senses heightened to the point that he can “see” what he describes as a world on fire. In many ways, Murdock sees much more than any of us do. He can hear the footsteps of a man walking multiple floors beneath him, smell a woman’s perfume from a block away, and even feel the tiny textural differences between colours so that he doesn’t need a friend to pick his outfits for him.

    Of all his keen senses, it is his reflexes that serve him best in his questionable line of work as the so-called Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Lawyer by day, vigilante by night, Murdock works both inside and outside the law with the end goal of seeing his city restored to its former, not-crime-ridden glory. Regularly resorting to violent methods in efforts to reach this goal, Murdock has no problem with hospitalizing his victims for periods ranging from weeks to months on end.
    Murdock is not the only one with a desire to make his city a better place. The Kitchen’s kingpin of crime, a brutal and brilliant yet sensitive man, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) serves as both the series’ antagonist and a mirror image to the notorious vigilante himself. In a genre where the villain is often designed to be the polar opposite of the hero, the contrast between Fisk and Murdock stands out as being almost non-existent. From their similarly difficult childhoods to the indescribable connection each has with their dying city, one easily forgets which is the hero and which is the villain. That line is only faintly drawn at the extent to which each character will go to mold their vision into reality; as Fisk says, “Something first has to die before it can be reborn, and this city is no different.” The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen would be inclined to disagree.

    After only a single season, Daredevil has already cemented itself in TV history as the highest rated show on Netflix. Between the engaging character depth, convincing acting, and stunningly choreographed action sequences, many have already begun to consider this one of the best comic book adaptations ever to grace the big or small screens.     Daredevil was excellent. I liked everything about it. The pacing between light moments and violence. The variety of characters, all played so well. Matt as an attorney was spellbinding, as a friend endearing, and as Daredevil impressive and terrifying in turns. Wilson Fisk was perfect, balanced between insane brutality and complex sensitivity.

    Absolutely amazing TV shows, great characters, particularly the villain Wilson Fisk and his assistant, Wesley. In my opinion this is one of the best things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, containing a dark, gritty and realistic story, similar to the Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight series, and yet still contains some of the wit and humour that is becoming Marvel's trademark.

    For me, I knew this show was going to be special after finishing the first episode. The action sequences are well filmed, especially that hallway scene in episode two. The characters all have enough development to make you fear for their lives when watching them fight against the Hand, The Punisher, and Kingpin. Most of the characters stay true to the comic books, except for Daredevil 's suit, which looks way more awesome than it's comic book counterpart, and is virtually indestructible . I think that he could fit in with the MCU, unlike some of the other Marvel TV Shows. This is a must see for any Super Hero Fans, and even for anybody who needs a new show to watch.… Expand

    This is a great series. The choreography for the fight scenes is top-notch. There are some amazing hallway combat scenes. Solid performance from the actors across the board, especially Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays a fantastic villain.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Daredevil season 1 for me is the best season of the best Marvel Netflix show to date. Everything about this season works perfectly: the story, the dialogue, the action, the acting, the villain, etc. The backstory and origin for Daredevil are mixed in really well with Matt Murdock’s story as an adult and don’t disrupt the flow of the episodes or season at all. Murdock’s struggle to balance his work life with his vigilante life and how that struggle impacts his relationships with his friends is interesting and engaging to watch. The action and fight choreography are top notch; the hallway fight is probably the best action sequences in any of the Marvel Netflix shows, and other sequences raise the bar as well. Overall they show how much ass Matt Murdock can kick despite how vulnerable he really is and the fact that he doesn’t have any overly fancy superpowers. This show uses its supporting characters well and not only gives them moments to impact Murdock but also to effect the show itself and almost be more than supporting characters. The acting overall is fantastic; every substantial cast member makes the best out of the screen time they’re given and we see some actors who we haven’t seen much of before really shine in this show and show us what they’re capable of as actors. But, with all that said, the villain is where this season succeeds the most. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is an intimidating, effective and scary villain and is all of that without any special abilities other than his influence and power. There are people like Kingpin who exist in the world today, which makes him even scarier. D’Onofrio doesn’t just play this character, he defines this character and is likely the only actor who could ever truly play him on the big or small screen. This season does something that we haven’t really seen before, which is to give the villain a backstory. We learn about Fisk’s past in one of the episodes, and it adds a lot of depth to the season and Fisk’s character. His fate at the end of the season leaves room for future storytelling, something a lot of villains don’t get. At the end of the day, other than Murdock’s abilities and him being a one-man army, everything about this show is completely realistic of situations we can and do see in the real world, a luxury we don’t get with so many other superhero movies and TV shows. With a few law concepts thrown into the mix as well, Daredevil season 1 is a must-watch for fans of the character and Marvel fans in general.… Expand

    The content is less family-friendly than the movies and Marvel's other show (Agents of Shield). It's more adult oriented superhero entertainment. Those who have been following the MCU can relish in some good nods to the rest of the universe, even as the show is more of it's own contained thing.

    Most shows like this would have each week dedicated to Daredevil tackling a different villain, but in the case of this show the entire season is dedicated to one, large conflict. Everything from the shows beginning episodes come together over the course of the season into one central plot. Aside form some pacing issues, the show is very entertaining thanks to strong characters backed by excellent performances.

    Every now and then just when things start to really ramp up in intensity, the show will take what seemingly feels like breathers right afterwards. When the action starts to get going you don't really want it to stop. I get that it makes more sense from a build up standpoint, but often these moments where it puts the breaks on is jarring. It's a little something that needs to be worked on in the next season.

    With great writing, fantastic characters, and violent action this is a very successful and different side of the MCU. One that manages to do it's own things while being connected to the lighter side we see in theatres. It's a darker hero involved in darker conflicts in a darker part of the universe, but it still manages to capture what we love about the heroes on the big screen. If someone in this show (hero or villain) gets hit then it looks like it hurts.
    This medium fits the character of Daredevil perfectly. It wouldn't feel right thematically to see him going against aliens and robots like some of the more fantastical heroes but seeing him take on the street level villains (mainly the brilliantly portrayed Kingpin) is a joy to watch and the fight scenes are superbly made
    But getting away from the action, the drama in the show is equally if not more entertaining. Supporting characters like Karen and Foggy are certainly enjoyable but the most intrigue comes from watching Matt Murdock and the Wilson Fisk struggle against each other while juggling their own personal challenges. Each character has remarkable depth and are each likeable in different ways to the point that whenever enjoy seeing a victory for one of them you still lament the others' defeat.
    This is a well written and fantastically performed action/crime drama that can be enjoyed regardless of whether you are familiar with the MCU or the comics. There are a few nods to the films and easter eggs for long time fans to spot but for the most part this stands independently from the franchise it could have very easily leaned on to make easy money (I'm looking at you, Agents of SHIELD).     That acting is fantastic - best villain since the Dark Knight's Joker- and the writing is above par. Stylistically the show doesn't disappoint by offering a nice array of mostly colorful nighttime scenes and realistic day-time scenes. There is no annoying plastic aesthetic that is the ruination of so many similar attempts (Agents of SHIELD). Environments are dirty and real-looking.

    For the creators: I have suggestion to improve the show drastically. The fight scenes need less kung-fu/WWF and more bare-knuckle-boxing.
    Real fights NEVER involve people getting tired and then coming back with surprise second winds a la WWF. Several of the ridiculously long fight scenes had me either laughing or getting angry at their stupidity. The style simply clashes with the rest of the show. I bet the low bar there actually excludes more viewers than it entices. Editing every fight scene down to two or three punches would wildly improve the entire show and probably broaden the target market of the show to include a much wider fan base. Spoiler: how much better would it have been for DD to just light that ninja on fire in the first six seconds of their engagement? (A - WAY better) The latest generation of superhero movies seem to have figured this out long ago (see Batman, Avengers (Hulk v Loki), etc. as have all unrelated top-flight productions since about the early 2000s. Superhero genre fans don't need the low -IQ fight scenes and no matter how long you make them WWF fans won't be into the otherwise dramatic style.
    Put another way: DD is a crazy great fighter. Taken for granted. He displays, relative to other good-guys, little mercy because that's the property's brand (Devil). Okay. If he fights a gangbanger he'll drop them in a strike or two, maybe breaking some bones in the process. We already know he'll win. So why is he STILL fighting this guy? It's just bad. so.... stop it for season two. Please? Just fire the fight choreographer and don't hire another one. I'll love it more, the action junkies will still love it (because the action will probably get more visceral) and my girlfriend will stop having to pretend to like it.

    I do hope my message to the creators doesn't dissuade you from watching and loving this show. Just get popcorn or a beer when the fight choreographer takes the camera and you'll be fine. Unless you're a WWF fan. I suppose you guys can fast forward to the violent parts. Weirdos.    … Expand

She is a very unappreciated actress and I am glad to see she snagged a significant supporting role in this series.

    There are only 3 small problems with Daredevil. (1) It is a little TOO grim. I'm all for dark noirish stories, but sometimes this goes a little too far even for me; (2) the explanation of exactly how Matt Murdock's blindness and heightened other senses works, isn't quite clear. I hope they round out that information and apply it consistently. One thing they are on the verge of doing is making him not blind, but only faking. He is blind. He does lack certain abilities most of us have thanks to our eyes, but as the pc people say these days, he is truly "differently abled." It would be great to see Matt get into trouble due to his blindness, and then kick ass his way out of it by using his heightened other senses, just to make clear that he truly is blind. If they get all fuzzy and vague about his disability versus his heightened abilities, then they are messing up something that is at the very essence of this super hero. It's important to articulate it and be very clear and consistent about it.

    Finally, the suit. It appears in the last episode of the first season and, unlike everything else about this show, it's terrible. In the comics Daredevil's costume is little more than body paint. It is thin and flexible, which makes sense because Daredevil is like an acrobat. But in the show the suit is like body armor. It's thick and black and red rather than just red. It's just no good at all. It MUST be changed in season 2. The actor needs to be sure that he's toned up and he needs to wear a skin tight thin suit that is all deep burgundy red. He should NOT look like Robocop!

The movie definitely plays on the premise that the audiences knows a tad bit about Daredevil already. While his abilities and skills are spelled out eventually, the process isn't bored or mundane. The fight sequences are great. No blurred camera so that moves look better. In fact, there's one scene where the entire fight is one continuous take. The story itself could use some better narrative but overall, the character development is great and the pacing is good.… Expand

In fact, it takes more than a single viewing to catch them all. Another gigantic improvement in the genre is that its story has a solid continuity that pays off instead of the lazy "case of the week" formula that doesn't reward you as a viewer.
    The creators of the show obviously love the source material and have an incredible attention to detail in every scene. Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock is full of understated nuances that elevate the character, which is itself, excellent in paper. Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk gives Tom Hiddleston's Loki a run for his money as the best villain in the MCU. Similar to Loki, Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul and Michael Shannon's General Zod, Fisk is portrayed as a misunderstood loner rather than as a straightforward villain. Some viewers might find themselves rooting more for Fisk than for Murdock himself, that's how good of a character he is. Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson succeeds in being more than a comic relief sidekick. In contrast to Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan and Kat Dennings in the Thor movies, he actually serves a purpose to the story, and you know, he is actually funny. Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page is in a way, the heart of the show. She's the character with the most notorious development, and an everywoman trapped in an extraordinary situation. You could argue the same regarding Claire Temple (played well by Rosario Dawson), but other than healing Matt's wounds, she is not as active as Karen.
    The action scenes are inspired and aren't there just to move the plot forward. They also tell you a lot about Daredevil himself. That he is skilled, but not to the point of being an unstoppable tour de force like the other Marvel heroes, not yet anyways. Every punch, stab and fall hurts and has consequences.
    Another important aspect that distinguishes Daredevil from other heroes is that he is constantly questioning himself which moral direction should he take. In a gray world that demands desperate measures to be taken, the answer is never obvious. Even as a lawyer and a catholic, Murdock acknowledges that morality is too complex to be determined only by law and religion.
    My only two issues with the show are that it still includes some cliches (the nurse as a romantic interest, stereotypical Russian and Asian bad guys, the villain comparing himself to the hero) and that they portrayed Stick as the king of jerks, when in the comics he was a noble and inspirational mentor.
    The success in Daredevil's overall direction gets me excited for its future, and I hope it encourages Marvel and Netflix to adapt more characters with similar tones like Punisher, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider.    … Expand

    That was amazing. It's darker, edgier, and more intense than anything Marvel has made yet. The writing is great, the characters are phenomenal, the fights are superb, and it was just amazing.

    Took until the first season finale to see Matt Murdock in the famous red suit. Daredevil on Netflix does not **** around. It takes itself very seriously and it's the darkest the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever been. It's damn good though, I recommend it.

    Great! It's the best live action superhero TV show we've been treated to thus far. I'm super excited for the second season. I love the fight scenes, they are all choreographed very well and glue your eyes to the screen.

    Not perfect but very good. Great story telling with a cast of characters that you can relate to because they're not perfect. There are just as many defeats for the heroes as wins which makes the show more plausible. I say heroes because all of the main characters are working together to fight against the overwhelming crime problem. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this amazing show.

    Daredevil is engrossing, gritty with a sombre tone. It’s wonderfully paced and drags you along for the ride into the devilish underworld of Hell’s Kitchen. It’s dark and devoid of pretension and flatly refuses to sugar-coat the abject violence laying bare the tenets of the delusion of power and control over the proletariat.

    The action is good and shot very well. The casting is also good. Netflix have produced a very good series and network TV should be worried, very worried. The only negative was the suit in the final episode. It wasn't exactly badass. His vigilante attire was better. Apparently it will be improved on as the series progresses, so starting low and ending high is something to look forward to...

This alone would be enough to recommend Daredevil, but this merely scratches the surface.

    Being a solid mix of superhero action, court-room drama, and film-noir there are many facets to Daredevil that make it an enjoyable show in it's own right; regardless of the MCU. I many ways this show takes what has been done in many films before it; Christopher Nolan's, "The Dark Knight" immediately springing to mind, and surpasses it just by virtue of having far more time to go into the various themes of the show in detail. This makes the show delightfully multi-faceted while also giving it the depth of a film with a strict focus. The effects of becoming a vigilante weighing on your psyche are merely alluded to in 'The Dark Knight' while here they're thoroughly explored. At the same time in other scenes, the focus will shift and single shot, visceral fight scenes on par with the very best of cinema; constantly reminding me of classic fight scenes from the likes of 'Oldboy' with the very realistic crunch of bones and weight of impacts being felt. Watching combat in Daredevil feels like you're watching the gritty realism of grown men trying to kill each other with their bare hands. While all this is going on, the cinematography is unparalleled. With most shots sticking to the noir aesthetic and almost every shot being done with practical camera effects, the immersion is high and the lack of CGI leaves me speechless just by virtue of the restraint shown.

    All of this gives Daredevil a pedigree that is amongst some of the best in all of film, let alone just TV. My lone critique is that the show spends almost it's entire 13 episode first season building up Matt Murdock with him only really becoming the titular Daredevil at the end of the series, which would have felt like the worst case of blue-balls where it not for the fact that this show has a second season to explore the now established Daredevil, rendering this whole point moot.

    A whole hearted recommendation to everyone. Even if you're not normally a fan of the superhero genre, this is more the rebirth of film-noir as a mainstream genre anyway, and it pulls it off with aplomb. Watch it, you will love it.    … Expand

It is primarily a crime drama with moments of great action scattered throughout the series. This story feels real and the characters feel real. Hell's Kitchen is such a great setting for the show that it is almost a character and the dark and grittiness really suits this series. There are so many great characters and it never feels like there are too many. The development is far more significant in a 13 episode season than it would have been during a 2 hour film.

    Charlie Cox is a guy who came out of no where to become one of biggest comic book heroes to near perfection. Cox showed lots of dedication to the role and really brought us the best version of Daredevil we have ever seen. Cox also handles Daredevil's alter ego Matt Murdock beautifully. Cox is surrounded by other key pieces of the cast like Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Eldon Henson as Foggy Nelson. Both these characters have great interactions with Murdock and their relationship is tested at several points during the season. One episode is dedicated to Nelson and Murdock's relationship which allows the viewer to see their friendship as a deep and strong union.

    Wilson Fisk, known in the comic books as Kingpin is likely the most well known Daredevil villain. Vincent D'Onofrio would not exactly be my first choice to play the character. It takes the full season for you to fully see how exceptional D'Onofrio is in this role. Like the other characters Fisk is developed throughout the show and also gets a episode dedicated to his upbringing and gives us a broader perspective of why he does what he does.

    I found that Daredevil really only got better as it went on, but that should really be what a series like this should do but there are certainly points that are going to hold you over until the huge climax at the end. I found the ending to this season (no spoilers) so outstanding and it was one of the best finale episodes I have seen on any show. I know I have been late in checking out Daredevil but now I get to check out Season 2 immediately.    … Expand

I am not a Daredevil fan, in the sense that I’ve never read the comic or care much about the character.     The new feel is brought in by a lot of things, some more subtle than others but they all help to distance the show from the movie. The costume is one of them, obviously different but they did one better, they grounded the vigilante's story and abilities. Daredevil isn't hopping from building to building jumping so high that you wonder how is he still human? This incarnation runs, jumps, basically does parcours, and gets the **** beaten out of him. His fight scenes and stunts look plausible, realistic, but boy! Does his cracked ribs and black eyes heal quick. It is subtly explained how he seemingly gets back on his feet after a serious beat down but it sometimes - once actually - feels unrealistic or supernatural like.

    The familiarity of the show I first mentioned stems from Matthew Murdoch's back story and the people he interacts with but also the sets. They have, in my opinion, very successfully distance themselves from the Daredevil movie but not completely. Some of the sets can easily remind us of the movie. They seem to be inspired by the same thing(s), probably the comics since I never read them I wouldn’t know, but the familiarity of stepping into a world we know is there.

    I also loved that they showed more than just Murdoch's back story but Wilson Fisk’s as well. It gave more depth to Fisk's character and also blurred the lines between him and Daredevil without really depicting Fisk as an antihero. He's straight up evil, manipulative, and dark but the smart thing is Fisk really believes that he is doing a good thing for the city. He's the villain of the show for sure but he's the kind you could maybe root for or at least understand, even if the guy does has the emotional stability of a child. What's the saying again? "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." It looks like it is what they applied to the show by not making Wilson Fisk a one note character. They've first built him up Harry Potter style as the He-who-must-not-be-named to give him some street cred, a menacing persona. Then layered his persona with emotions to make him relatable to finally show us how dark he can be, how far he will go.

    Daredevil was so smartly tied to the MCU by subtly mentioning the heroes (The Avengers) and the destruction of New York City in the very first episode and more bluntly in others but the show somehow stand on its own. Tying such a dark show into the MCU feels weird because it means this is happening in Tony Stark's or Spiderman's backyard but I guess they can't be everywhere. It almost seems like Iron man, Spidey and the other are in the big leagues and Daredevil is in the minor league, on the come up, for now.

    The Daredevil show is dark, bloody, and addictive, I watched the whole season in two days, that’s how captivating it is. The show is definitely an origin story, not just Murdoch’s and as origin stories goes this is the best Marvel has produced.     I won't lie here when I first heard that Marvel studios was making a TV show out of Daredevil I just thought to myself "Oh no not another one of those superhero TV shows". But then I heard all the positive and amazing feedback it was getting and got quickly got interested in it and checked it out straight and I got to say that Daredevil is the best thing Marvel as ever done.

    What really hooked me to keep on watching the show is how dark, violent and real it was, this isn't your average superhero, no in this are hero is human and can take pain and injured. This is what makes Daredevil a different show and is it just me or I had a Batman Begins feel to it.

    Charlie Cox as Daredevil was absolutely spot on great casting. He added a lot to his character if it's pain, injured, being a hero or just being Matt Murdock. He was Daredevil, he was Matt Murdock these no doubt about it he nailed the role and I can't wait to see what else he brings to season 2.

    Vincent D'Onofrio plays Wilson Fisk the villain of the show and may god this has to be the best and the most understandable villain I've seen in a while and Vincent D'Onodrio did outstanding in this role. Wilson Fisk in this show wasn't just a big evil guy who dose horrible things because well his the villain and his there to do bad things, well that's not the case here as I was so surprise how social awkward and so down to earth human he was and I loved that, I'm sick of these big cold perfect villains that has nothing interesting about them but this is totally different and new, it's a bit like some people in reality. These one episode showing his past and why he is the way he is and I think it has to be the most shocking and uncomfortable episodes I every watched. These like other episodes where he's on data and starting a relationship and it wasn't boring or didn't drag at all and that's because of the excellent performance and the writing that made a scene like that interesting.

    Vincent D'Onofrio did a excellent and outstanding job playing the villain as he gave so much to his character that it came off brilliant.

    The action scenes in this show are... freaking mind-blowing and awesome. These an amazing fight scene in the episode Cut Man with the long take fight scene with great fighting and realistic stunts, oh and the sound in that scene made it work even more because every punch and every kick sounded rough and painful.

    For problems with the show I don't really have many to be honest but if I have to say which episode was my least favorite has to be Sick, it's not the worse episode but compare it to the other episodes Stick was my least favorite.

    Overall Daredevil the TV show was freaking amazing and set's a new bar for superhero TV shows.    … Expand

    Well acted, with every character being a gift. The tone is gritty, without being too dark, and has just the right amount of realism. The fight choreography is great to a television series and makes the violence feel more realistic than you normally see in the genre.

    One thing that really stood out above the rest was the exceptional fight scenes which I personally felt were done better than any of the other Marvel superhero adaptations. They were definitely well thought out and captured the raw essence of Daredevil's martial arts skills that was aided by his superpowers. Best of all, every single one of these fight scenes left me literally at the edge of my seat while I constantly found myself cheering on the protagonist to "finish him!".

    For the most part, this series has made it more than gratifying in every sense of the way to sit through all 13 hours in one binge-watching sitting. I was apprehensive at first that Daredevil would only be donning the Man Without Fear story arc's generic all-black costume throughout the show but once he finally puts on his famous red suit, there is this triumphant and satisfying feeling that would overwhelm the audience as it did for me.
    Then there's the way that the Kingpin story arc builds up its momentum until the grand finale. Everything screams polished.

    What the show has done was make the characters feel relatable even though they may belong to an entirely different universe from us per se. Like for example when the antagonist's dark background was revealed, it showed how much it contrasted with the one that the protagonist was shown to have and how it resulted them to have chosen the paths they are now in and how they would eventually cross.

    Other than that, the acting was decent but would not exactly garner the recognition from awards shows and the likes though Deborah Ann Woll was particularly a standout for me if I were to pick as she brought a level of emotional depth to her supporting character in certain dramatic scenes.

    Marvel has definitely made the right decision to house Daredevil in today's most popular streaming giant, Netflix as the lack of constraints that network tv would have brought has been the single greatest benefit to both the show and the audience. Although sometimes the violence may be overly gratuitous, the ideals of what Daredevil should be has finally been achieved.    … Expand

    It's rich with character development, don't get me wrong--honestly, there's a point where you almost feel that you understand the supervillain better than the superhero--and offers up a lot of entertainment along the way. It's just not "The Wire."

    Some of the show’s episode-by-episode plot threads do come across as perfunctory filler. And Daredevil has a tendency to stretch out its conversational scenes to the point of enervation, especially with regard to Fisk’s attempts to romance an art gallery owner (played by Man of Steel’s Ayelet Zurer). However, the show makes up for those missteps with its clear and compelling voice.
