The best thing about this show are the production values. The plot is simple, plays safe and at times corny.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm baffled as to who the target audience is for this reboot. My nieces and nephews (ages 4-10) are way more critical thinkers than the majority of the adults and young adults portrayed. Parker Posey appears constantly in shock as to how dumb all of those "specially selected" crew members are. No wonder her character is P-Ohhed. I realize that entertainment media is scrambling to match expectations of the latest round of identity politics on screen but it is absolutely ridiculous how every single male in the show is a wimpy, emasculated, inept, sad sack with the notable exception of the chicken guy. The robot even has had his male identity computer voice, vocabulary and comic relief role stripped out. The chicken guy is the only unapologetic alpha male and it appears that his character has been given the solitary role of comic relief as a punishment for that crime. I guess that what we are to take from that is that unapologetically masculine men are to be relegated to being clowns... oh and single. Some have deduced Black Panther to one phrase,"I hate white people" this show would be,"I hate men"
I have to agree with all previous comments about the bad writing, gaping plot holes, breathtaking absence of logical thinking and absence of basic laws of physics. Really?? Freezing cold temperatures that instantly freeze a deep well of water and yet they have no helmets or "space hats" on? At some point way into the first season they explain how come there is a strange disparity in technology by divulging that the spaceships are constructed on alien tech but that doesn't explain why they are communicating with C.B. Radios when satellite phones exist today. Lost in space or B.J. and the bear? It seems that the annoying and constant flashbacks are a device to mop up the illogical mess that is constantly created. There is no doubt that this show has been written from the female perspective because of the constant and never ending private one on one meaningful conversations where they wax on at infinitum about ,"their feelings". I should make a count of how many times there are only two actors on screen at a time engaged in deep and meaningless babbling while they are supposed to be in a survival situation.
Then there is the blatant theft of iconic sci-fi moments such as when they are in the bat cave gathering space poop from blind but somehow not adapted to sonar pterodactyls. You know the scene from Aliens when the beast comes within licking distance of Sigourney weaver but then is drawn away? The most egregious theft from that series is when Maureen is beating up the robot with a heavy equipment robotic arm towards, you guessed it, an open airlock! I was waiting for her to scream at it,"Get away from her you B$%^%*&CH!!" But stopped short of outright plagiarism. My suggestion to whoever is in charge of that show is to fire every single writer on staff and sketch some testes onto the male cast.
Propaganda Rating 8/10 for the ridiculous amount of anti male identity messages.

No spoiler here. Nothing to spoil. Within 5 minutes you can already tell that this is one of the worst series or remakes that you have ever seen. Horrible on all fronts but worst of all was the writing which was laughable. Don't waste your time as I did. Geez.

In short - great for kids around 8-12 years old. Technical quality is great, proper mix of CGI and real props, interesting questions asked. Just keep in mind that it's meant for kids and don't expect deep dark story, blood or X-rated content.

For the exception of the soundtrack and cgi effects, this is close to being the dumbest and least imaginative adaptation of a television series yet rebooted to the binge screen. The Robinson clan should have gone into therapy, not space. The dialogue is terrible, and the show is too freaking liberal. The Marine ops dad continues to kowtow to his feminist ex making LIS unintentionallly funny. This John Robinson, my friends, is no Guy Williams!!!

I Cannot believe the crew of the Jupiter 2, as survivors, are on their way to a hostile environment without an arsenal of weapons to defend themselves all because Ms. Robinson did not want any onboard the ship. It’s a foregone conclusion where next season is going. Now the robot will have to do all the fighting and create (xerox) weapons convenient to the plot when needed. Ugh! Deus ex machina!!! About the only thing that's presented with any purposeful consequence is the pandering set-up for the second season.

A few bright sides to this reboot is that the cgi is great, and hearing the John Williams theme after the Jupiter 2 busts free of its icy grave is a plus for the series. I also enjoyed the change of pace at the start of an episode where a collage of photos commercialize the space program: Past, present, and future. Good stuff.

But watching Lost In Script for a whole hour is not worth the few minutes that I enjoyed. Yes, the robot is amazing for the exception that no one mentions why it speaks AND understands English.

The crew is bad, really bad and the children cause half the problems. I think mission control forgot to load the Tang. These Robinson's couldn't colonize my backyard. If LIS continues down its backward, non-cerebral, juvenile path (which appears to be its direction), at least feature more action, less wordplay, and less female chest beating. Too much estrogen and not enough testosterone in this Robinson clan. As for Dr. Smith? I have to say it. "The pain. Oh, the pain..." Get rid of her, please! What a disaster! Also, forego the tired "boy and his robot" relationship, a facsimile and trope which is all too familiar. We've all been down that rabbit hole! The whole 10 episodes were like trying to run a marathon under the water. The writers take the whimsy and surrealism of the old tv show and transform it into this muddy, grimy, and droning diversity riddled space opera that completely over thinks the premise. Embarrassing!

Anyway, if the writers cannot submit intellectual scripts with a persuasive execution for story & words, then may I suggest sticking to an arty production with imaginative eye candy? Above all, THINK. I'm not suggesting LIS resemble 2001: A Space Odyssey, even though the writers ripped off the movie by using an evil AI for taking over the Jupiter (remember HAL the computer?). But the audience doesn't need to be told everything that is already captured on camera.

Limit the excessive babble and red faced humor lines, such as, Penny's bad acting when she says through her nasal like voice, "Anybody have a mop? I may have barfed a little bit back here.” (Albeit, a little ironic for how I felt about this binge of episodes). The point is the crew just escaped death. A long scan from the camera onto the crew's silent expressions as they look at one another, the sweat of fear on their faces from the nerve wracking, death defying experience, and the unmentionable sigh of relief that they're still alive from the Jupiter's rough landing should be enough.

Netflix needs to give me 13 reason why I should watch season 2. If I do watch, the writers can beware of my fickle finger of fate on the fast forward button. Unfortunately, this is one expedition that should have been scrubbed long before the final countdown. Hmm... maybe season 2 will be the season where John Robinson finds his balls. As for Mrs. Robinson, she’d be better off doing Benjamin! LOL. ...

    To Be Continued.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Lost in space is so overrated it almost blows me away. This show is boring garbage. The family dinamic is terrible, some of the characters are useless and serve nothing but make the lenght of the episodes longer. But my biggest complaints with this show are the lazy script and the flashbacks. They're absolutely terrible!!! The sloppy dialogue makes every character interaction awkward and the flashbacks are even worse.
Spoiler: Doctor Smith ( the villain of this show which is a terrible and cliched proffile of a psychopath ) and another guy are trapped on this plannet and a dangerous storm is getting closer to them and they have a flaregun. At the same time the main characters are driving a rover back to their ship. Then they see a flare. They go into that flare's direction and then only doctor smith comes. It's clear that she tricked that other guy and stole his flaregun but no we are shown a flashback to see how she stole his gun..................Why? Who thought this was a good idea? Anyway I was bored to death by lost in space and I am givinh it a 2/10 for decent CGI and a few decent characters. Oh and did I mention that the acting is terrible?

All effects are very well done, and the series is beautiful to see. But the plot is much more a drama than scientific fiction. There were a lot of opportunities to explore in 1st season (e.g. the discovery of a new world, new fauna and flora) and yet they focused too much in personal and familiar drama.

It's not perfect, but definitely has been worth the time spent watching it. I laughed at one of the top user reviews that complained about them always being in danger. Yes, that is the whole premise of crash landing a family on a hostile planet after their transport to a new world got attacked.

Yes, that is the whole premise of crash landing a family on a hostile planet after their transport to a new world got attacked. They should be in danger all the time - and that's is something they get right. I think some of the family dramatics gets a little overdone - but not to the point where I cringe at it. There are a lot of complaints about Parker Posey's villainous character Dr. Smith. I personally think it's the best written character on the show - she's unpredictable, cunning, conniving, an yet there is a little glimmer of good you want to root for but can't. She's the character metaphor for the planet they are on. Danger! That's what it's all about when your Lost in Space.

The story is utter rubbish. Nearly zero substance to anyone's motives, and with enough plot-holes that is looks more like a hole than a plot. The acting is substandard but production is commendable otherwise. The CGI is patchy in places but mostly well-done. This Sci-Fi is more fiction than science. Hoping they would get their **** together for the 2nd season. I'll give it one more chance.

An additional thought: With the sudden expulsion of the Robinson's little Jupiter into an entirely new realm, please find a way to make Dr. Smith more interesting and less a pain to watch, or please kill her off as soon as possible! This series has great potential with much more skilled writing and significantly better creative thinking. If Season 2 is merely a continuation of the Season 1 disaster, the show will be gone in a couple more episodes.

Absolutely no effort has been spent to make the "alien planet" not look like Vancouver in the Summer. A little creativity by the set designers (if there are any) and the show runners to make the show minimally interesting would be deeply appreciated.

Because of my fondness for the original, I will struggle through the entire season with minimal hopes that much better writing, significantly better directing, and passable acting will make the effort minimally entertaining.

Again, please either make this mess a clear comedic effort, or fire the writers and directors before the series is cancelled.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having watched the original series as a kid, the movie as an adult, I was still open to the idea of revisiting this show, for the the movie didn't really have time to flesh out the characters or story line. What I also was willing to look past was a reliance on CGI for flash for that is just how it is today, and the very young ages of the children (and their related skills), because the actors really made the children be a strong component to the story line without dropping it into a kids show.

All that given, I still had to rank this as a moderate to poor series of shows. The first few episodes were decent. The interaction of the family, dealing with crisis, and even Will's first encounter with Robot was enough to keep me engaged. While there were some "ya gotta be kidding me" moments (water does not freeze that way, how can it be raining and the water freezing at the same time, why the Robot understands people, but can only say 'Danger' and someones name). Where it started to go south was the introduction of Dr. Smith.

Yes, the original show had a Dr Smith so I guess if you are going to re-boot you need to have that character in play, but where the original Dr. Smith was superficially conniving character with undertones of guilt for his actions and moments of doing good, this current reincarnation of Dr. Smith was confusing and as the shows continued, such a drag on the plot line that I started to skip scenes she was in and tried to just figure out her impact. It was not that she was a bad person, she was an evil person and that character made no sense for that level of evil cannot exist for very long. Her behavior was sociopathic with each decision to do harm getting progressively worse. The writers then make the Robinson's, supposedly very smart and aware people, completely unaware of Dr. Smith's manipulations.

I even skipped one whole episode simply because it featured the bad Doctor and how she fixes Robot and gets control. I didn't care any more and frankly, Will ordering the Robot off the cliff was not even believable other than to set up Dr Smith's later act.. In one scene she some how figured out how to turn off a perimeter fence to allow a nasty creature into destroy a communication device. Why? No real reason other than to create chaos, but that no one asks the question, how did that happen, who may have done it...nope, the bad Doctor once again gets away with her bad actions.

But okay, she seems to gain the upper hand against Maureen and the family. she secures her seat on the Jupiter by force, then loses the Robot, is now discovered by the family to be behind all that bad things that happened, and they do what? They lock her in a room...on the ship...Why?

The actor played her role well in creating a monster and in the world of the Robinson's, there could be no room for such a human for at some point she once again can become a danger to the children and the families survival. I would have been very happy to see John, or Maureen "accidently" space Dr. Smith and let the show writers find a more fitting antagonist. They seemed to have no issue dumping Don West (who i thought was more Doctor like than the Doctor) and I think he would have been the better character to keep.

I am certainly not waiting on the next episodes to come out, and when they do, if the character of Dr. Smith remains in the same vein, I won't continue to watch the show for that one character ruined it for me.

Why does every attempt to resurrect this show end up being so... dour? The reason why the original 60s Lost In Space was even watchable and worth it because it was ludicrously over the top and campy. That was really its only charm. And that charm was real, even if it isn’t exactly “cool”. So why not try having an iteration that fully embraces that? Because this one like the equally bad 90s reboot took out all the fun and humor and made it all grimdark, serious, and angsty. And like the 90s version, that would've worked if the acting, pacing, characters, and etc were any good, but like the 90s one, it isn't. What's worse is that despite the dark and serious tone, its PG-rated and setup as family friendly, which means nothing truly dark, serious, or suspenseful really happens to the any of the characters as it doesn't take any risks to achieve any serious emotional drama and impact other than predictably putting people in danger on purpose by doing dumb things (especially the Hollywood typical annoying kids) for the most predictable, faux, suspense.

Someone needs to tell these sci-fi film producers that it's okay to relax and be goofy sometimes. There’s a place for that as the Marvel films have shown. Lost In Space was a perfect spot where that could have happened - just have a bit of camp and silliness in it, make it done with a bit of a wink to the audience and you could mix in some more deep stuff. Ash Vs The Evil Dead and Deadpool gets that right.

First, and importantly, this is a complete reboot/rethinking of the 60s classic series. In fact, this is closer to the plot of "Swiss Family Robinson"; it has hardly anything to do with space - they're stranded on an icy, treacherous planet. The only thing that even ties this one to that one is the character names, they didn't even fit the classic title-music theme in at all. The RobinsonFirst, and importantly, this is a complete reboot/rethinking of the 60s classic series. In fact, this is closer to the plot of "Swiss Family Robinson"; it has hardly anything to do with space - they're stranded on an icy, treacherous planet. The only thing that even ties this one to that one is the character names, they didn't even fit the classic title-music theme in at all. The Robinson family is now based on a broken marriage with a black Judy (!) that's not even explained in the entire first season! Dr Smith is a woman vs the original's old man and is even a more vile character than before. As dark and "real" as this could've been, it has a very Disney feel to it. There's a bit too much cheerfulness/joviality especially from mother Robinson given the dire events and conditions they're in. John Robinson is played by Toby Stephens who must've been a less expensive version of John McGinley ("Scrubs", "Stan Against Evil") because he looks, sounds, and acts like him. In fact, the whole cast is mostly unattractive/homely c-level actors if known at all; even Miss Obscurity herself, Parker Posey, stars as fraudulently-assumed-name Dr Smith. As evil, manipulating, and conniving as her character is, it's just so transparently obvious she's written to be in the proverbial catbird's seat the entire run of the series. When she commits heinous acts, no one's around to witness and she never has attendant injuries. They've written her to be a psycho-pathological liar and it's very frustrating to see her succeed time after time, so that in itself is a plausibility problem, but plausibility is a problem throughout, for instance when the chariots are driven extremely fast, even raced, over treacherous landscapes and it's treated like they're traveling on safe roads. And when everyone knows how to operate everything all the time without a single reservation, especially considering the young ages of most of them. It's just not believable guys. And the alien robot who's so intimately tied to Will Robinson goes unnamed by anyone, not likely. It's like the writers and directors don't have a solid, cohesive vision for the characters and plot, it's all very uneven and generally disappointing, especially since it seems they thought enough to emphasize racial and gender diversity, politically correct, check. It's a shame the acting can't keep up with the great production values. The final scene of the season definitely teases where they'd go in season-two, but it's not at all a given they'll be awarded that. Expand

The space ship initially sinks into the ice (then freezes over like an ice cube), and we're told that it's registering -60 degrees outside. But conveniently their faces are not covered over and show no signs of frost, freezing or as would happen in reality, fall to bits. I've given this two episodes and when you sit watching something whilst thinking 'I'm really not sure about this...', Then it's time to switch off and watch something else. Expand

Being a fan of the original, I expected a bit more from the 2018 version. It is too much teen oriented for me and lacks humor. Characters are well developed, CGI is good but Dr Smith is sometimes too dark. The robot has evolved very well from it's original concept. I have high hopes for season 2.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For such a long wait...underwhelming. I guess they felt they had to retrofit each of the original characters (welcome to the politically correct 21st century), save for Penny and Will.
Prof Robinson becomes Special Ops scapegoat of the family
Maureen Robinson becomes an AstroPhysicist akin to Steven Hawking
Judy becomes a black doctor - why not just go with an entire black family?
    Penny retains her playfulness
    Will is science boy
Major Don West is turned into a campy smuggler (not unlike the weekly villain of the original series)
Dr. Smith, now a woman, has no panache. That's what we liked about the original
    And the Robot - I just can't.
The plot is sooo predictable for the series to be so serious. When it was campy, we loved the outrageous twists and rescues. In this new version, when they do have a "surprise" twist like Will's discovery for fuel or Special Ops rescue, the writing falls flat. Too convenient for the serious tone.
The CGI was on point, although the escape of the Jupiter 2 in Ep 3 reminds me of the movie.
I guess I was hoping for more, and will be if there is a season 2 the way they are chatting it up. I'll probably watch that too...just wish they'd take more than a few minutes writing each episode.

Changing the origin, voice, purpose and look of the robot, changes the concept of a remake, to a new production that is so-so, and at best a feeble attempt at a remake of "The 100" with a cast of dozens rather than the original eight.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLDR: Had potential, but politics make it something other than lost in space.

First of all, the Robinson family was all white, but above all, they worked together as a family. In this version, those facts are contradicted simply for garbage PC/SJW purposes.

The father, John Robinson, is depicted as a bad person, but the mother, Maureen Robinson, is the fearsome righteous leader. Maureen Robinson is a scientist - she is not a do it all modern useless feminist that bosses everyone around despite her lack of knowledge in engineering and leadership. Conversely, if we want to briefly stick to their modern story, John Robinson has military experience and has the leadership-like attitude, but is constantly challenged by his wife who apparently is a walking encyclopedia that can do literally everything.

Will Robinson is supposed to be a genius, but you don't get that at all. You get a touch of his potential throughout the movie, but he is supposed to posses great intelligence which greatly exceeds his entire family.

As for the diversity token, Judy Robinson, like usual let's all hate the cis-white male because reasons that aren't true to the original story. The father was gone and now he's back, but she is too stubborn to show her care for her father.

Let's carry on about forced diversity. Mr Smith isn't actually a man.... no. It's a woman. Another contraction to add to the fiery mess of a tv show.

I saved this show to my list the moment I saw it but was disappointed from the first episode, to the last. The only thing that kept me watching was the hope that it would bring me some type of joy, it didn't. The acting, the writing, the solutions to troubling situations, were all bs. You literally have to be 12 years old to truly enjoy this show, because it's corny hollywood garbage.

The red haired daughter, the guy with the chicken.... and the robot are the best characters..... BY FAR. people saying the new dr smith is a woman need to watch more carefully..... dr smith is a man.... shes a criminal loser who stole his jacket. I actually liked that little twist. Befriending a robot alien responsible for the death of many and the crashing of the ship station.... not so much. Forgiveness is one thing... but a family friendly show basically saying murder is fine as long as you make up for it..... is wrong on every level.
constant 'omg were going to die' and instantly knowing 15 minutes earlier exactly what will happen.... in 2018....simply isnt good writing. Its repetitive and eye rolling. Having a chat whilst on a timer to save someones life.... but saving them in the nick of time..... eye rolling.
Peoplle are calling it a politically correct version.... yet when 2 of the leading women are complete aholes... they are wrong on every count. Like Fringe, it creates a good balance for all in that regard... thats one of its FEW positives... The others being production value, musical scores.... and the modern day darkness of the robot itself (without the 'lets forgive murder' part.
Lost in Space COULD get better.... but it need MUCH better storytelling, less 'look at me Im great' and over obvious predictability.... plus less wooden acting from some of the cast..... to be a great show.

Often you'll have the smart characters telling you how smart they are just incase you didnt know. We frequently shouted and rolled our eyes as our brains hurt on every episode after the first one (which is ok). Almost every scene damages itself inexplicably.

It's worth a watch if you like sci-fi. But leave your brain behind and get lost in dumb.

Impressive and beautiful high budget fun. If you like sci-fi and don't mind the whiff of cheddar then Lost in space is a definite recommend! I love the cast and characters, and the writing is okay. Looks really impressive in 4k HDR and does a fair job of being more like TNG than something more throwaway.

Accurate science is seldom exciting and spectacular enough to base a weekly adventure TV show upon. Lost in Space generally attracts generations of viewers interested in advanced science and engineering. So let's forgive the show for an occasional misconception in the service of an epic adventure.

Every Science Fiction series and film has major flaws relative to science and physics.

Barring a very unlikely demolition of Einstein's theory by revolutionary discoveries in quantum physics, warp drive and jumping to light speed can't exist. Physicists of today understand the space-time continuum rather well, and there is a very good reason to think that no object can move faster than the speed of light.

Earth is constantly bombarded by particles from space. These particles, called cosmic rays, hit our atmosphere and produce the gamma-ray light high above the Earth. The atmosphere blocks harmful cosmic rays and other high-energy radiation from reaching us on the Earth's surface.

Unfortunately, as spaceship velocities approach the speed of light, interstellar hydrogen H, although only present at a density of approximately 1.8 atoms/cm3, turns into intense radiation that would quickly kill passengers and destroy electronic instrumentation. In addition, the energy loss of ionizing radiation passing through the ship's hull represents an increasing heat load that necessitates large expenditures of energy to cool the ship. A magnetic shield can protect against particles coming from the solar wind, while other kinds of harmful particles, such as high energy gamma rays and X-rays, wouldn't be affected.

In Star Trek communication signals that can travel as fast as the fastest starship. This is just a convenient notion to get messages to Star Fleet and back by the end of a TV show, with no realistic physics behind it.

Light sabers are a genius idea: portable, lightweight, activated with the flick of a switch and oozing cool (at least if you’re a Star Wars fan). To create the saber’s shining blade of light, laser technology seems the obvious choice. Laser produces a highly directional light beam which can be used for everything from etching metal surfaces to eye surgery, so why not battling the dark side? Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as it looks.

Probably the most fundamental issue is that a light saber’s blade needs to stop short after a couple of feet. But a laser beam, just like any kind of light, never just ‘stops’, unless something in its way absorbs or reflects the energy.

What’s more, clashing light saber blades would be impossible – the beams would just pass straight through each other and make for a very boring duel.

So, the bottom line is: Lost in Space is an entertaining combination of real science, imaginary science gathered from lots of earlier stories, and stuff the writers make up week-by-week to give each new episode novelty. The real science is an effort to be faithful to humanity's greatest achievements, and the fanciful science is the playing field for a game that expands the mind as it entertains.

Do we really need a stubborn black woman in every single show now constantly demeaning and attempting to assert her dominance over the white male? It makes me cringe. Where did she come from anyway, the parents are white? Guess we need to shoehorn diversity in there any way we can.

Also what in the hell is with every single show destroying the nuclear family and splitting the parents up unnecessarily? It's so damn boring and incredibly lazy script writing just to throw in a bit of tension in there.

Regardless. The main failing is the script:

    - Awkward and unrealistic conversations,
    - The humour in many places is just not funny and incredibly jarring especially from the white daughter,
    - Show is predictable at almost every step,
    - Annoying, bratty children who know nothing and make illogical decisions causing huge problems for everyone yet somehow by the end of the episode they're the finder of the solution and are hailed as heros,
    - Logic never prevails in any situation. I thought these people were supposed to be the best of the best that humanity could offer? All I see is emotional illogical nothings who are doomed for extinction.

    Good riddance.

2 points just for the CGI.

I also didn't find the kids annoying, except for maybe Penny a little; she was definitely the weakest in terms of character development and in terms of useful skills. My biggest problem with the series was a few of the situations which make no sense. Either the situations are implausible or the characters make choices that are hard to believe intelligent people would make. There are a solid 3-4 of these at least and they all really break immersion. The show is pretty enjoyable otherwise. I'm really disappointed that other reviewers have criticized the diversity of the cast or the presence of strong women. These are great qualities for a film to have. The family is believable (many real families are blended, have half or step siblings) and I disagree that the men are weak. Not every man prefers a weak woman. The parents in the show are both strong and that really gives their marriage a partnership feel. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The original LIS was one of my favorite shows for years, both in its original run and reruns. It was melodramatic, and later got silly and campy; but the first season was an exciting Sci-Fi adventure show.

Many of the comments and critics panning the show speak to its lucky coincidences, inaccurate science, "dumb" character motivations and actions etc.

But the fact is that these characteristics were part of the original show as well--particularly the lucky coincidences. There's definitely room for improvement with respect to plot and character; but frankly they captured many of the elements that made the original series captivating to me as a child. I enjoyed the developing relationships among the characters, and I thought the family dynamic was well represented and believable. Yes, the science was wrong in many cases (e.g., when trapped in the tar, it would be physically impossible to lift that hatch--in the same way you can't open a car door in a submerged vehicle; the outside pressure would never allow it), and supposed scientific geniuses sometimes aren't very smart (e.g. Dr. Maureen can't figure out how to tell if someone pretending to be a physicist Ph.D is lying; why not ask about Maxwell's equations, or thesis work?), but the action was plentiful and enough new questions and surprises kept coming up to keep it all entertaining.

Maybe that does suggest it's really only suitable for young children; but I found it nostalgic in a way that made me want to stick with it. I'm looking forward to a season 2...hopefully!

Aside from the overwrought, hyperbolic and incessant music (reminiscent of the terrible Star Trek movie soundtracks of the 80's), it's a dark but harmless remake of the campy original. At its worst, Lost is a weak, cliché of script and uninspired plot-twists, but it's generally saved by good, fun stories and fantastic, ILM-worthy effects and scenery.

I enjoyed the first 6 episodes but by the end wanted to punch Will Robinson. Those last few episodes were bad, other than the dad and the guy with the chicken, I honestly didn't care about them by the end.
Netflix get to the point in future, adding in additional things going wrong to pad the story out doesn't work if they are so infuriatingly dumb that you give up caring about the characters.

Dr. Smith - new actor/actress needed - there is non of the humour or even villain-like character of the original Dr. Smith.
Space scenes needed for some of the episodes. They are not always on a Canadian looking planet.
The ending music is great - using part of the original theme - just hyped up a little.
There must be a second season, but what made the original LOS so awesome was not the paper cutouts, it was the spirit and the acting and the fun that the actors clearly had in making it..

Posey plays the role with a gravity that encourages the show to orbit her, eccentrically, whenever she’s in view. The dynamic exemplifies the awkwardness of this muddled update. Charging in several directions at once, it asks the viewer to imagine efforts to secure a proud future for humankind, but it seems most vital when painting depraved schemes to survive.
