If a character starts tailing a professional assassin who knows she's being trailed there's probably about a 100% chance that character will be killed. Sandra Oh is so good in this show she almost convinced me to watch Greys Anatomy. Almost, though, I don’t hate myself enough to catch up on 15 seasons worth of medical soap opera.

Killing Eve is the funniest drama to come about since Breaking Bad.

This was a pleasant surprise. Kinda spy vs spy but there is something fresh about it. Not a zombie, vampire or super hero in sight. I get a sense that it does not take itself too serous but it makes for good tv escapism.

The show is dead-pan funny and serious. Sometimes deadly serious, or seems to harbor serious dead wish. Definitely a captivating take in the genre.

This one was a lot of fun. Although a spy show, don't expect Killing Eve to be a serious, drab affair. This is a surprisingly darkly comic show, complete with a quirky cast and plot developments.

Sandra Oh does a good job playing Eve, the MI5 agent who becomes obsessed with tracking her down. Credit should also be given to David Haig as Eve's wry colleague and Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia from Harry Potter) as Eve's calmly in-control boss.

One main downside of the show is that it tends to stretch the plot out, leaving some things for season 2.

Ridiculous black comedy the lead is excellent Ms Oh lifts it above the average. I'm actually looking forward to the third episode so it must be doing something right, for me anyway.

Don't waste your time on this crap. It starts brilliantly but loses steam after the fourth episode, descending into a cartoonish parody of the spy genre. A pity, because the cat-and-mouse game between a super-assassin and a determined spy had all the ingredients of a crackling thriller. Sadly, even a willing suspension of disbelief cannot save this mish mash of a plot.

Entertaining, quirky, mildly shocking unless you buy in a hundred percent to the comedy, which is nearly always possible. The amorality of one or two of the most brutal actions teamed with the intentional non-sequitur humour wears you down after a while. Just sometimes flags, sometimes agent Eve doesn't seem on the ball enough in tense situations and when that happens it loses its edge. This is a kind of female 'talented Mr Ripley' where we are meant to develop a soft spot for the anti-heroine. A great cast with Jodie Comer as the versatile psychopath and the ambience of cool contemporary 'spy music' will keep you watching, maybe even back-to-back episodes. Expand

The writing is simply amazing, comedy intertwined with gritty drama. Usually the comedy in these types of shows comes across as out of place and silly but never in Killing Eve, the comedy comes at the right times causing the intended effect.

There's a particular tone to this show, that makes it Playful and not destructive. Coming from the mind of Phoebe Waller Bridge it all makes sense.
I binged this in a day those 6 episodes went by so fast. The characters are quite unique. Gonna have to wait till next year for season 2.

This show had me hooked after two minutes. What sounds like a typical agent hunting a serial killer, surprises with great characters, surprising turning points, and the amazing cast. I absolutely love every part of it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just started watching this show because of the high critical reception. I didn't even read the premise. It's an action - spy thriller and I don't like a single word of that. The first two episodes were actually funny and I watched another two solely because it's written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and I loved Fleabag. So after four episodes, I'm hoping it will improve and I'll have to watch the rest because I'd already finished half the season and if I dropped it then I would think that I had wasted my time. I finished watching it today morning (I don't binge) and was so relieved that I was done with this piece of crap. I hate almost all of the characters including the protagonist and the antagonist. I am also of the opinion that this series would be slightly better if it had half hour episodes.
Spoiler Alert (But not really) : Eve isn't killed and none of the characters wanted to kill her, at least that's what I understood.

This writing in this show is dragging it down. Unrealistic, and borderline stupid scenarios that deflate what otherwise is a great premise supported by good actors. I understand trying to be original but not at the cost of incredulous story-telling.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 4 episodes in and wondering when I'm supposed to care about any of it. It doesn't even go for the most perfunctory believability, none of it even remotely makes sense.

Eve is supposed to be this genius, except that nothing she does is particularly genius-like, and each time she's under stress she turns into a gibbering nitwit. These are supposed to be MI5 agents and they talk and act like hysterical idiots. Like probably no spy ever, the Bill character, a 61-year old man, goes after the assassin by himself, unarmed, walking into a crowded dance club hoping to do who knows what and, big surprise, is promptly killed.

And the assassin character is too silly and childish to take seriously for even a single second. This show is billed as a drama when it's actually a cartoon, except without the laughs, an Austin Powers movie has more credibility than this drivel. BO-ring.

I think the overarching story is a good one but alas is let down by mediocre writing and directing. I think the viewer is introduced to this early in the first episode, 2nd scene I think, where the chinese chick is having a nightmare and screaming her **** off. Have we not moved on from this overly melodramatic, childish nonsense in 2018. A later episode has 3 assassins who turn on each other in just one of the most amateurish, nonsensical, childish scenes I have had the misfortune to witness of late. This scene would pass as slapstick comedy, quite out of place with the genre of most of the episodes, one where you find your eyes rolling up.

I think we also need to consider just how many shows we need pushing the feminine star/hero who just happens to prefer other women to boys. It's a shame, it's an interesting story which just was not translated to screen very well.

Killing Eve, which like Fleabag is mostly set in London, has the same irreverent sense of humor and the same intense exploration of the psychology of its lead characters. Here, those qualities don’t always come together with the conventions of the spy story in perfect harmony. But they do make something new, gratifying, and--in its finest moments--thrilling.

The dialogue has some of the snap of Alfred Hitchcock, both main and minor characters (again as in Hitchcock) are well-played and vivid.
