Sandra Oh is so good in this show she almost convinced me to watch Greys Anatomy. Almost, though, I don’t hate myself enough to catch up on 15 seasons worth of medical soap opera.

Killing Eve is the funniest drama to come about since Breaking Bad.

This was a pleasant surprise. Kinda spy vs spy but there is something fresh about it. Not a zombie, vampire or super hero in sight. I get a sense that it does not take itself too serous but it makes for good tv escapism.

The show is dead-pan funny and serious. Sometimes deadly serious, or seems to harbor serious dead wish. Definitely a captivating take in the genre.

This one was a lot of fun. Although a spy show, don't expect Killing Eve to be a serious, drab affair. This is a surprisingly darkly comic show, complete with a quirky cast and plot developments.

Sandra Oh does a good job playing Eve, the MI5 agent who becomes obsessed with tracking her down. Credit should also be given to David Haig as Eve's wry colleague and Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia from Harry Potter) as Eve's calmly in-control boss.

One main downside of the show is that it tends to stretch the plot out, leaving some things for season 2.

Ridiculous black comedy the lead is excellent Ms Oh lifts it above the average. I'm actually looking forward to the third episode so it must be doing something right, for me anyway.

Entertaining, quirky, mildly shocking unless you buy in a hundred percent to the comedy, which is nearly always possible. The amorality of one or two of the most brutal actions teamed with the intentional non-sequitur humour wears you down after a while. Just sometimes flags, sometimes agent Eve doesn't seem on the ball enough in tense situations and when that happens it loses its edge. This is a kind of female 'talented Mr Ripley' where we are meant to develop a soft spot for the anti-heroine. A great cast with Jodie Comer as the versatile psychopath and the ambience of cool contemporary 'spy music' will keep you watching, maybe even back-to-back episodes. Expand

The writing is simply amazing, comedy intertwined with gritty drama. Usually the comedy in these types of shows comes across as out of place and silly but never in Killing Eve, the comedy comes at the right times causing the intended effect.

There's a particular tone to this show, that makes it Playful and not destructive. Coming from the mind of Phoebe Waller Bridge it all makes sense.
I binged this in a day those 6 episodes went by so fast. The characters are quite unique. Gonna have to wait till next year for season 2.

Dug it. Sandra Oh is great, if not a bit over the top as the brilliant/disaffected MI-5 agent discovering a new player in the European theatre. Always am up for some nitty gritty British/Euro spy stuff. Watched the first episode online, wish I didn't have to wait an entire nother for the second.

Throw in British style black/deadpan humor/snark, and you pretty much have a winner. One of the best new shows on TV this season.

While there is enough action, suspense, and intrigue to keep one entertained, if you're looking for gun battles, explosions, sex, and frothing at the mouth, eccentric villains, look elsewhere. This is the true "thinking mans" spy thriller.

You are a good person... because you are sad and sad people are usually good because they feel things more.
Villanella reacts in her heavy eastern-European accent: OH GOD... you're one of those profound little kids! I'm not sad... I have a happy face.

Jodie Comer playing psychopath Villanella provides a stunning and superb delivery of the primary protagonist in this dark comedy.
I question my morality when I enjoy this type of entertainment. Nevertheless, this is an excellent series.
Fun to watch - does not have anything significant to say... except, perhaps... watching horrible, evil people do horrible evil things can be fun to watch. Perhaps that is profound.

The thematic humor used over and over is the juxtaposition of the macabre and normal/trite aspects of normal everyday life. It never seems to get old.

The Canadian/Asian/female actress Sandra Oh seems bizarrely cast in her lead role. I kept thinking of dozens of actors and actresses that I would have selected to fill the lead role. And, then it is clear she was brilliantly and perfectly cast to fit within the context of this film series.

I'll rate Killing Eve season one a 7 because it starts off well and our two lead characters, Eve of British intelligence, and Villainelle, the assassin, are convincingly written and rendered. The problem of course is that neither one of them belong in this series. A backroom intelligence analyst shouldn't be running around like a field operative and an assassin who can't obey orders, and who develops a tendency to simply kill anyone who proves irksome, including operatives she's supposed to be working with, would herself be "retired" by any organization with an interest in its own survival.

And this pretty much sums up the problems I have with the series. It keeps doing things that seem implausible. I mean, maybe the FBI really did take a cadet out of training to help investigate a serial killer, but until I see the proof of it in writing I'm not going to believe it. And the same goes for sending a backroom analyst to Moscow and allowing her free rein to "follow her instincts."

I know crazy things happen in real life, and that's why truth is stranger than fiction. For fiction to succeed it absolutely has to make sense. It must be believable, and in the end I just don't believe Killing Eve.. And frankly the worst of it is the final few minutes of the season finale. Oobatz!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Killing Eve is my favorite new show of 2018, my favorite black comedy show, my 3rd favorite comedy show of all time, one of my top 5 favorite drama shows of all time, and one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time. Jodie Comer (one of the best portrayals of a villains I have ever seen) and Sandra Oh give astounding performances, they give very complex, powerful, and deep performances and they just have outstanding chemistry and play off of each other perfectly and Sandra is funny and Jodie is hilarious in a dark way. Fiona Shaw, Yuli Lagodinsky, Kim Bodnia, Sonia Elliman, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Sean Delaney gave pretty fantastic performances. The writing is phenomenal, Villanelle is one of the best written villains I have ever seen and Villanelle and Eve's odd but so well-written connection and obsession with each other is just superb. The costumes are exceptional especially on Jodie Comer. The makeup and hairstyling is stupendous especially on Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Fiona Shaw. The cinematography is remarkable. The music is terrific. The fight choreography is great especially in the scene between Villanelle and Nadia. This first season was better than I ever expected, it was an A+ Expand

The premise of Killing Eve is great and the execution from the actors is fantastic. Jodie Comer as Villanelle is remarkable. However, the story never really grabbed me and demanded that I paid attention to it. It's still a solid watch, but I do think there was some potential left on the table.

Killing Eve, which like Fleabag is mostly set in London, has the same irreverent sense of humor and the same intense exploration of the psychology of its lead characters. Here, those qualities don’t always come together with the conventions of the spy story in perfect harmony. But they do make something new, gratifying, and--in its finest moments--thrilling.

The dialogue has some of the snap of Alfred Hitchcock, both main and minor characters (again as in Hitchcock) are well-played and vivid.
