    The wonderful fight scenes and the excellent work by the costume department are the pluses. The minuses outweigh unfortunately and by a long shot at that . A bland disjointed script with absolutely zero believability, badly directed and poorly acted. Danny Wu is as wooden as you can get.     It isn't a bad show, in the sense of being a total swing and a miss. It isn't, however, the type of series that would be a gleaming jewel in anyone's programming crown. It's too derivative. Too uninvolving. Too inertly paced.

    Badlands is a wilder, richer adventure in every respect [than Marvel's Iron Fist], while also engaging with big themes about what it means to be a good person in a terrible world. And it does it with a beautiful and blood-soaked style all its own.

    Sure, at times the series feels slightly too busy, with too many layers of political intrigue, but most of those political scenes are quickly balanced out by a well-choreographed fight.
