    Badlands is a wilder, richer adventure in every respect [than Marvel's Iron Fist], while also engaging with big themes about what it means to be a good person in a terrible world. And it does it with a beautiful and blood-soaked style all its own.

    Sure, at times the series feels slightly too busy, with too many layers of political intrigue, but most of those political scenes are quickly balanced out by a well-choreographed fight.

    It isn't a bad show, in the sense of being a total swing and a miss. It isn't, however, the type of series that would be a gleaming jewel in anyone's programming crown. It's too derivative. Too uninvolving. Too inertly paced.

    I held off on watching this show for so long because of low critic ratings. Stupid me. It's not perfect but I'm able to look past the negatives with this one. The fight scenes are amazing but it's not just that. I actually find the story intriguing, even if some scenes feel out of place or are acted poorly… Full Review »
