Mar 20, 2017Season 2 of 'Into the Badlands' is even more badass than the previous one. It sure has narrative flaws, but the entertainment it delivers by displaying marvelous action sequences it absolutely wonderful.

Mar 23, 2017I held off on watching this show for so long because of low critic ratings. Stupid me. It's not perfect but I'm able to look past the negatives with this one. The fight scenes are amazing but it's not just that. I actually find the story intriguing, even if some scenes feel out of place or are acted poorly

Mar 23, 2017Definitely flawed but the highs outweigh the lows for me. They know their audience. I hope they can keep up the pace like they did last season, I'd hate to see this show get canceled

It isn't a bad show, in the sense of being a total swing and a miss. It isn't, however, the type of series that would be a gleaming jewel in anyone's programming crown. It's too derivative. Too uninvolving. Too inertly paced.

Badlands is a wilder, richer adventure in every respect [than Marvel's Iron Fist], while also engaging with big themes about what it means to be a good person in a terrible world. And it does it with a beautiful and blood-soaked style all its own.

Sure, at times the series feels slightly too busy, with too many layers of political intrigue, but most of those political scenes are quickly balanced out by a well-choreographed fight.
