    A spectacular nosedive for a once-great show. In season one, the show took multiple episodes to show us the careful preparations required for a single murder: the relationship-building required for a cover-up, the planning, the missteps, the moral hesitation of the conspirators, and the final, surprising, ruthless kiling.     The show goes full soap opera:
    -Women find themselves instantly pregnant by dead characters.
    -Characters return from the dead! Only to be killed off minutes later.
    -Paternity mysteries!
    -Kompromat falls into the lap of the main characters as soon as they disagree with someone.
    -The reading of the will, followed by the.. SECRET WILL!
    -Open talk of conspiracies to murder
    -Sibling billionaires
    -Who Shot J.R., except we wish we had been dreaming.

    I could go on and on, but this was a slap in the face to any fan of the show. The lack of Spacey really wasn't the problem, (though it was A problem) when faced with cringeworthy dialogue, flat-out stupid stories, a brand-new cast with zero character development, pointless episodes, and a multitude of loose ends that had been dangling since the first season.

    Somehow the show hamfistedly panders to the crowd that demanded Spacey's firing while showcasing the first woman president as a frail pawn. She doesn't give a state of the union address, watch covert strikes from the situation room, dole out wisdom during cabinet meetings, outwit the opposing political party, or give an inspirational speech to the nation.

    Instead, she goes to parties with billionaires. Attends funerals. She cries in bed. She's pushed around by her cabinet. She lets someone hold her hand while she signs a bill. She schemes, she chews scenery, she talks to the camera, but she rarely does anything presidential. She appoints an all-female cabinet! .....Then dumps all over them.

    I was tempted to abstain from watching Season 6 because the ending just wouldn't be what was intended from the start. I didn't realize that it would just be outright bad television that didn't resolve anything from the first season.    … Expand

    Huge fan of Season 1-5. Watched episode 1 of season 6 and will not continue with episode 2-8. Is it fair, then, for one who has not watched the full season to give it a negative review? Perhaps not. But, I would ask, is it fair for episode 1's writing and storytelling to parody and disrespect everything that came before? (i.e. Claire to the camera/viewer: "Don't believe anything FrancisHuge fan of Season 1-5. Watched episode 1 of season 6 and will not continue with episode 2-8. Is it fair, then, for one who has not watched the full season to give it a negative review? Perhaps not.     What an absolute abomination. This show went so far off the rails it is truly pathetic. Nobody in their right mind should even attempt to watch this final season. Do yourself a favor and don't watch past season 2.

    Got through the first episode. Instantly clear the writers have lost the story. I perused the summaries of the rest of the episodes and I am glad I did. This season appears charmless, circular, and forced passion to make up for not having any passion. This is a case of a show better left to die. Clair was always a supporting role.     House of Cards is the undisputed world record holder in the plummet factor from Season 1 to its last season. The steady fall in the quality has accelerated to what I have to assume is the absolute maximum in Season 6 (which is, mercifully, the last season). The very last episode plays like a bad SNL skit of the actual House of Cards series.     No..Just no,you could done much better job Netflix.This season is not how you end one of the best series that ever came out,this show was the reason i started my netflix subscription in the first place!!
    But as all good things come to an and i hate how they just got rid of Frank because of some accusations against Spacey,but still..you were scared of the backlash i get it.

    Not this crap,at the end you are left wondering did the series at all have something to say,maybe it did but not with this finale.I love Claire,but this was horrible and i am sad to say but this season destroyed the whole series because how bad it was and i am a fan-boy of HoC.
    Really sad to see such a great show end in a unenjoyable way.
    I would recommend to any fan and casual viewer of the show DONT WATCH THIS DONT RUIN YOUR PERCEPTION OF HOUSE OF CARDS..
    Its not only my emotions that are writing the review,but the whole story,pacing and overall feel of this season was crap and you can see a lot of people and fans share my opinion.

    So stay away from this and find something else to binge watch as Hannibal,Mindhunter or **** it even 13 Reasons why...so sad to see this show go away like this.    … Expand

To be clear, I don't blame Robin Wright, she does the best with what she's given but without Spacey there to be her less-than-better-half, the writers have gone truly off the deep end.     I can't fault the actors, but the series would have been better off cancelled. There's nothing left of the House of Cards we came to love. Starting with a cheap cop-out, everything about this last season feels contrived and designed by committee. It's ironic that such an irreverent show would be killed by political correctness.

    Robin Wright, a strong bright white light of severity and cunning, is sadly led to the narrative guillotine by the hapless lazy writing of what is, thankfully, the last episode of HOC. I suppose there is some poetic justice to the crash and burn of a show that was, even at its best, an overglossed Machiavellian masterclass of assholism. But what an indolent ending to a truly antagonisticRobin Wright, a strong bright white light of severity and cunning, is sadly led to the narrative guillotine by the hapless lazy writing of what is, thankfully, the last episode of HOC. I suppose there is some poetic justice to the crash and burn of a show that was, even at its best, an overglossed Machiavellian masterclass of assholism. Diane Lane had a strong performance at least, but not nearly enough to save the pathetic excuse for a last season. You cant just blame the cast, whoever produced this should be ashamed.

    I don't care how many people Kevin Spacey allegedly groped... nothing is worth subjecting us to this pathetic trash. What a disappointing ending, especially after such a strong start to the series.

    House of Cards hasn't been good in years, so I was actually looking forward to seeing Robin Wright take over from Spacey. Spacey's corny and smarmy Foghorn Leghorn act and demeanor had gotten dull and tired, so I thought, maybe and hopefully Claire can pick things up.

    While Robin does a decent job, the show is still dull and stale. It's more of the same boring and irrelevant characters,    House of Cards hasn't been good in years, so I was actually looking forward to seeing Robin Wright take over from Spacey. Spacey's corny and smarmy Foghorn Leghorn act and demeanor had gotten dull and tired, so I thought, maybe and hopefully Claire can pick things up.

    While Robin does a decent job, the show is still dull and stale. It's more of the same boring and irrelevant characters, plotting, scheming, and double-crossing. Claire's motives are so dumb, shallow, and petty, her actions so short-sighted, that she winds up playing the role of Frank anyway. You can watch the entire season and be unclear why she even wanted to be president in the first place, and what she wants to do with her power now that she has alienated everyone in her orbit, besides start a nuclear war over nothing and make proclamations about feminism so hollow and self-serving, especially after she dumps all over the all-female cabinet she personally hand picked by calling them sexist (!), that Gloria Steinem would eyeroll.

    House of Cards became a dumb soap opera masquerading as a classy thriller. I don’t think they really thought past the first two seasons. It’s usually pretty easy to tell when showrunners have run out of ideas from their original concept. House of Cards had the original BBC show as a guide until Frank became President, then had no idea what to do with its time. The show started its steady decline after then. It was way more fun to see him work his way up rather than flailing to keep everything under control which they have now passed on that to Claire. The original UK version ended it after three seasons, they should've followed that lead and ended it around four seasons and then start a spin-off series with Claire working her way up to President.    … Expand

    I hated Season 6 and could not get past episode two. As much as I agree Spacey is a loathsome human being, he made this series and there was no point bothering without him.

    What a terrible ending to a great show. The men vs. women **** is overplayed to the extreme when we all know most people in power, men or women, don't care much about gender.

    Pathetic writing. Based on that I'd give it a 0.
    But the acting and technical aspects are still very strong.

    We have an excellent serie and now this season is all about women rights and women here women there, talk about abuse on childhood by mens, all to show that "hey look, we fired the protagonist because is rapist, lets talk about rapist and forgot about the heart of the serie".
    A waste of time this season.

    Atrocious last season. Why on earth would they cut the main character?!? And why would they change it so dramatically from where it began. First seasons were good, but this was a joke!

    The 6th season was absolutely not a series that began on 2013. The whole story was around the character of Francis and they removed it just as easy as they could. I have to mention that this thing caused to destroy the whole series. Maybe it was better to ignore making the last season.

    Every now and then, the nearly overwhelming clutter of characters and storylines gives way to intense, revealing scenes featuring only Claire and Annette. Thanks to the electrifying performances of Wright and Lane, in those moments “House of Cards” is as good as it’s ever been.

    The story of Season 6 just doesn’t cohere; it barely even tracks well enough to summarize. In a way, the total breakdown is sort of beautiful; it’s like watching the story collapse in upon itself, a deserted building, carefully demolished.

    Robin Wright is many things, but possessed of a light touch she is not. Her grim addresses--to the camera, and to anyone within camera range--are steely and unceasing, with very little variation in tone or emotion. It doesn’t help that the dialogue--for nearly every character, but especially for Claire--is stilted. ... The show has gotten rid of its biggest troublemaker without replacing him with new trouble that would be more entertaining.
