Boom Town is remarkably good for a filler episode. The physical comedy is hilarious, and it gets extra points for being the first NuWho episode to question whether the Doctor's attitude of always moving on is ethically correct. But balancing all these elements makes this one a bit tonally confused.

Meh. After the brilliant Empty Child two-parter we get this slog of an episode to save the budget. It's mildly interesting at the start and at the dinner scene, but it's mostly pad and even the charming cast can't do much to save it.
