Summary: Barnabas searches around the rubble of the burned down studio to look for clues of Petofi's death. He finds Petofi's golden pocket watch laying on the floor. Soon after, he finds Blackwood's black chain. Then after going outside, he finds Petofi's glases.

Charles Tate comes in and is angered to see his studio burned down. He seesBarnabas searches around the rubble of the burned down studio to look for clues of Petofi's death. He finds Petofi's golden pocket watch laying on the floor. Soon after, he finds Blackwood's black chain. Then after going outside, he finds Petofi's glases.

Charles Tate comes in and is angered to see his studio burned down. He sees Barnabas and accuses him of destroying it. Barnabas tells him about the struggle between Petofi and Blackwood. He also tells him that the portrait of Quentin burned down as well. Charles admits to Barnabas that he stole the portrait because he believed it would help him against Quentin. Barnabas begs him to paint another portrait so that Quentin will not be threatened by the werewolf curse. Charles tells Barnabas that he will.

Meanwhile, Kitty is still tormented by the mind of Josette. She tells Judith that she's leaving Collinwood so that she won't burden them any longer. Judith tries to convince her to stay, especially since Edward wants to marry Kitty. Kitty tells her that she cant. Later, she goes to the Old House and meets Barnabas. She tells him that she wants to marry him. Barnabas is happy to hear it and tells her that he'll meet her later, and that they will run away together.

Barnabas returns to the studio to see how Charles is doing, but finds a note laying on the table. The note is from Charles, telling him that he has run away to New York and that he's decided not to paint Quentin's portrait after all. Barnabas knows that this is Charles's revenge for his dislike of Quentin.

Barnabas goes to Collinwood and tells Judith that he and Kitty have decided to get married. Judith tells him that Edward will be heartbroken as soon as he finds out. Barnabas apologizes for that, but tells her that he and Kitty were meant for each other.

Meanwhile, Kitty waits at the Old House. She continues to have a conflict on whether or not she should be Josette. Suddenly, she feels herself beginning to float. Her portrait looms up behind her. Barnabas enters the room, just as Josette disappears into her portrait.… Expand
