Earlier in its run, Cobra Kai was able to live equally well in the past and the present. Not anymore, unfortunately.

The third season isn't a knock-out, but if all you want is cheap excitement, it'll do.

The bad acting of some of the children is not so easily overlooked and cheesiness has crept in. It should stop here and not ruin the whole Karate Kid story like some other Disney franchise. I've watched seasons 1 and 2. I loved season 1, it's Johnny-centric, it's funny and nostalgic.

Season 2 started turning into full on teenage drama around the mid mark and I watched the remaining episodes with a hint of douche chills.

Season 3... What was that? The full on teenage drama was dialed up to 11, almost every teenage character turned into a crybaby or completely evil, some episodes are bad copies of episodes of previous seasons, the overarching story feels like a car trying to accelerate while the handbrake is on. It was good while it lasted, had fun with season 1 and half of 2, guess the shine wore off.

You may get a feeling of discomfort at first because they scaled up everything (including the violence), and it may feel too exaggerated and drifted from that seasons 1 and 2's captivating simplicity at first. A consequence of that is that sometimes characters may seem to come and go too fast and not feel impactful at all. But that's as far as criticism gets, considering the change from Youtube to Netflix as producer, things could've gone terrible on this season, it could've easily lost its core identity, but instead it just evolves, and brings a ton of cool stuff with it. I got goosebumps from multiple scenes as past and current events connected throughout the series, everything just made so much sense. It's a full plate if you liked the previous seasons, it would be a shame if it didn't gather enough support to go on, which is why i decided to create an account just for posting this, I honestly believe it deserves a 9.
