    I've watched seasons 1 and 2. I loved season 1, it's Johnny-centric, it's funny and nostalgic.

    Season 2 started turning into full on teenage drama around the mid mark and I watched the remaining episodes with a hint of douche chills. Season 3... What was that? The full on teenage drama was dialed up to 11, almost every teenage character turned into a crybaby or completely evil, some    I've watched seasons 1 and 2. I loved season 1, it's Johnny-centric, it's funny and nostalgic.

    Season 2 started turning into full on teenage drama around the mid mark and I watched the remaining episodes with a hint of douche chills.

    Season 3... What was that? The full on teenage drama was dialed up to 11, almost every teenage character turned into a crybaby or completely evil, some episodes are bad copies of episodes of previous seasons, the overarching story feels like a car trying to accelerate while the handbrake is on. It was good while it lasted, had fun with season 1 and half of 2, guess the shine wore off.    … Expand

    Season 1 was refreshing, shifting the focus away from Dianel-san and quite well written (eschewing most nostalgic clichés), season 2 had some good moments but season 3 is really milking our last drops of nostalgia. The bad acting of some of the children is not so easily overlooked and cheesiness has crept in.     This object lesson on how to make a TV spin-off from an old movie franchise is even more fun third time round, and you don’t even need to be a Karate Kid fan to enjoy it.

    Enter season 3, which kicks up the nostalgia factor into an even higher gear while remaining every bit as soapy, playful and disarmingly funny. "The Karate Kid" might be 36 years old, but this series offers a battle plan for other revivals to study.
