Summary: We have mothers and their children in Portebello, just outside the center of Edinburgh, Scotland.
James and his mother Jeannie live in #33. Jeannie is a social worker in a psychiatric hospital and has a passion for leopard skin. James is 14 and loves his computer.

In #37, Louise and her mother Aileen have very different style views, but they both would like to see Louise's bedroom transformed. Louise goes to the same school as James. They have known each other for 11 years and "got married" when they were 4.

Anna Ryder Richardson breaks out some very purple colors in Louise's bedroom. She has a dark purple for the ceiling, and then will fade the color down the walls, getting lighter at the bottom. After painting the ceiling, her team of James and Jeannie say they can't stand the purple and they want blue. Anna gives them their wish. Andy makes a new bed that and a bookshelf. The bed will go on top of the bookshelf, and underneath the bed is a nicely hidden closet area.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is in the kitchen with Louise & Aileen. They begin by ripping off the very pastel wallpaper. They do an odd technique on the walls by adding sand to the paint. It gives the walls more of a mediterranean feel. Laurence also paints some diamond shapes around the room. However, he does it in a rather different manner. He sprays a small spot on the wall one color, puts a stencil diamond shape over that spot, then paints a different color all over it. Once the stencil is removed, there is a diamond shape of the original color. He does this on the walls and cabinet doors.… Expand
