    No, it isn't living up to its potential yet, but I'm convinced that if it just applies itself to its work, it could be something really good. For now, I'd just settle for the show becoming as funny as the people in the show are capable of being.

    Like its protagonist, at this stage, A.P. Bio is a guy with a bad attitude and little sense of direction, one who has some potential but is too committed to his own cynical plans to do something actually great.

    When the funniest things about a comedy are the cameos, it’s time to go back to the drawing board. Or in the case of NBC’s new sitcom A.P. Bio, back to the chalkboard.

    It’s not a pleasant show to watch. ... Kids would usually be shown to be thrilled that their rule-breaking teacher was showing them how to, you know, really enjoy life! But in practice, A. P. Bio ends up ridiculing the students.

    NBC knocked it out of the park with this one. The premise is a little played out but honestly, The cast saves this show and turns it intoNBC knocked it out of the park with this one. Howerton carries that same fire he has playing Dennis on It's Always Sunny and Oswalt plays a quality number two who's short appearances keep his character fresh and his interaction with Howerton's character fun to watch.… Full Review »

    Quirky and downright weird. At least that’s my first impression. One has to suspend reality to buy the premise that a disgraced professorQuirky and downright weird. One has to suspend reality to buy the premise that a disgraced professor could get a gig as an Advanced placement Biology teacher when he has no credentials or experience doing so. One also has to stretch credibility to accept the ineptitude of the high school principal as portrayed. Finally, to get AP credit, the students will need to pass an AP test at the end of the term. Don’t think all the students would go along with getting absolutely no instruction to prepare for this test. Once one suspends all reality then there’s a bit of fun to be found in this strange setting. Whether that’s enough to sustain this farce for a season, well that remains to be seen. Right now this trip down the rabbit hole is worth a tenuous D- and may easily sink lower.

    Recent episodes do not have any tie to reality, so lowering my score. A guilty pleasure - just because it is a farce, but nothing more than that. Past time to flush this one! Hear a report a renewal has been issued. Scraping the bottom of the barrel are we?    … Full Review »
