Summary: Vera misses work due to the flu and in her time off she becomes addicted to soap operas. When she returns to work, Mel becomes furious with her when she is caught sneaking into the store room to watch her soaps which results in her quitting her work at the diner and getting a night job so her days are free to watch every soap on the air.
