    This show got interesting

Overall was a very gripping story, you got too learn about court cases and how they worked. Has a few new story's from Hannah which nobody expected. Whether people think it was pushed in or not that's just an opinion I enjoyed it.

Overall I'd say it wasn't as good as the first season but is still an amazing season and I cannot wait for the 3rd.

The negative reviews are seriously overblown. Look, its not perfect, but in terms of dealing with sexual assault, recovery, and following up on the characters you care about, Season 2 succeeds. Its a season less interested in giving you happy endings, but rather mirroring horrific world life events. It wont be for everyone, and the final episode's graphic nature will turn most off. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My only criticism of season 2 is that I did not like the Bakers vs. school trial plot device. I doubt a real court would have let the attorneys abduct the trial to investigate on the Bryce Walker rape allegations but hey, this is tv!

What was good particularly about season 2 was that the story was not very black and white. The Hannah Baker suicide was shown as what it was - a desperate but pointless and rather selfish act that nothing good really came out of. The same applies to the rape charges sub plot. Bryce's sentence seems realistic - that's the sentence you would get for a rape like that.

I think some of the bad reviews are based on moral indignation rather than the actual merits of the show.

Look, I do not get why this has such mediocre reviews. I get how some people were offended by the first season, but I bet half of these people who have given negative reviews for this season have either not seen this season at all, or don't see past all the controversy for them to formulate their own opinions. This show is very cautious this time round. Sure there are some weak points, but stellar performances are given by the actors and there is an interesting storyline. Even if it was unnecessary do a second season, it opens the universe of 13 Reasons Why bringing answers and saying that there is always a second vision to something. Moreover, it's so nice see not just Clay be the star of the show.

Season 2 is quite of a letdown due to its muddled storytelling which makes this season completely unnecessary. This season became more unrealistic with its direction it is taking. But granted they're so many things which is done right , It makes us fall in love with its characters and their perspectives ,and overall its a enjoyable series .

I had to write something because I seriously don't understand these reviews. Did the press try to match the public's opinion after season 1 was released (namely that the show was romanticizing suicide and depression, which is false)? Because that's the only reason I can think of with that metacritic score. Maybe I can agree with people who say that "nothing really happens" in the first half of the show but even that I don't completely agree with. They show us how the characters are copping with what happened and how they're managing their lives. I love that it's now focusing on serial rapes. It continues to deal with important subjects that practically no other shows talk about. Expand

It is pretty good, actually. It is not as well as it was, but it is still an amazing serial with a good story. But the atmosphere is not well, in my opinion. It deserves 9!

From what I've seen, this season is misunderstood. I appreciate the time and effort the writer's are putting into this season in regards to writing and truly understanding the teenage mind. Definitely a step up. In addition, they tackle the issue of suicide in a much more mature fashion and digging into taboo issues surrounding it. Well done, writers! Expand

Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why takes a dive in quality from the show’s first which, for all of its flaws, remains a moving tragedy and a potent conversation starter. ... Season 2 employs Polaroid pictures as the breadcrumbs propelling along its feeble mystery. Along the way it also leads us through Jessica’s journey as an assault survivor, indubitably the season’s strongest storyline.
