With The Siege of Paris, Ubisoft delivers another excellent expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The main storyline is diverse and much more than just a siege, Paris and the surrounding areas are beautifully crafted and rats are an interesting new mechanic - although not always executed that well.- XGN

Monster Hunter Stories 2 is a great game thanks to its impressive combat system. The real star of the show however is the lively world that keeps you entertained throughout. Even though the Switch might not capable of the prettiest graphics, the game still looks great. It comes with a price however as the framerate is not that good.- XGN

Dark Alliance can lean on an enormous amount of lore. Many locations, friends, and enemies make an appearance. the level design is pretty good and challenges to explore. However, the game is held back by bugs and battles that just do not work. The game has huge potential but sadly falls short in execution.- XGN

Besides the obvious visual improvements, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD offers a clearly enhanced experience compared to the original Wii title. First and foremost the button controls offer a near-perfect alternative to the formerly mandatory motion controls, making the game more accessible. Beyond that, a lot of the original's hand-holding has been removed, leading to fewer interruptions of gameplay. The game still has other flaws, but the HD version does a lot to bring out the good of the game.- XGN

The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood offers a lot of new content, just like previous chapters for the popular MMO. The storyline and new region does feel a bit less special than heavy-hitters like Elsweyr and Summerset and the expansion doesn't offer any new classes and skill lines. It's not a bad chapter, but it's by far the weakest expansion for ESO so far.- XGN

The official game to the biggest sports event in the world offers an interesting variety of events to compete in, both online and offline. The controls are surprisingly varied and easy to pick up. The cartoony style might not be to anyone's taste, but the many customizations and wild outfits are a fun note.- XGN

F1 2021 continues where it left off with F1 2020 when it comes to core-gameplay. It brings well-needed changes to the UI and brings a few extra modes to choose from. For a season that is otherwise the same as the previous one, Codemasters did a great job of bringing changes to make it feel fresh in some ways. Issues from previous installments such as randomly placed tracklimits and occasional crashes are carried over. Something Codemasters could fix by bringing an update to the game (instead of track).- XGN

Mario Golf Super Rush is a fun game to play with friends thanks to a good variety of characters and some fun new modes. Golfing alone can be fun as well when you're honing your skills in Golf Adventure. People expecting this to be a full-fledged story are going to be disappointed a bit though.- XGN

Operation: Tango is a great multiplayer game. Though it is quite short it gives players a unique experience with both characters. There were some technical difficulties and errors, but Operation: Tango is a great, innovative, and unique multiplayer game, which allows players to have fun and engaging moments, while at the same time are trying not to ragequit because of each other's mistakes or jokes.- XGN

Miitopia on Switch is a remaster of the 3DS original. Sadly, it still brings the same tedious gameplay with little (need to) interaction during fights. Main eyecatchers are the extensive use of Mii for every role in the game and focus on building relationships between them. The use of these relationships in fights has great potential but isn't able to shine.- XGN

Final Fantasy VII Remake just got even better. With the new options in the free PS5 upgrade, you can choose between graphics and performance. The new DLC adds about 5 hours of gameplay starring Yuffie for a reasonable price. It's long enough and it adds enough, but just not enough to buy the entire package anew if needed.- XGN

GameStudio offers an excellent platform for playfully learning the intricacies of creating your own games with an extensive tutorial and plenty of tools to transform your creative ideas into reality. While the lessons are mainly focused on children, they might get overwhelmed by the vast possibilities Gamestudio offers, but this platform is an excellent introduction to both the difficulties and possibilities of game development.- XGN

Scarlet Nexus turned out to be a lovely combination of quick gameplay and an intriguing story of betrayal, conflict on a large scale full of plot twists and surprises. The interactions between the team members contribute to both story and diverse gameplay. The side-missions however don't add anything and could've been removed completely.- XGN

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is very important for the PS5 as it's a true showcase of what the hardware is capable of. The dynamic duo looks amazing in 4K, although it's the ray-tracing that really shines the most. Rivet is also an amazing addition to the cast, while the gameplay truly feels next-gen thanks to the DualSense and SSD. The game is rather short however which makes the 75 euro price tag stand out.- XGN

Mass Effect Legendary Edition offers a substantial upgrade over the original trilogy, even though the gameplay is still a bit outdated to today's standards. The trilogy still has a brilliant story and the deep RPG experience that Bioware became famous for. With around 100 hours of content, ridiculous replay value, and a cast of unforgettable characters Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a must-play for every fan of science-fiction and RPGs.- XGN

Famicom Detective Club bundles two games for 60 euros. The fact that these are old games meant only for the Asian market is clearly visible. The dialogues are in Japanese and the games are clearly polished in various aspects. Still, if you like a good story or two and feel the connection with your inner detective (and have a lot of time on your hands) these games scream for you. The writing of Metroid creator Yoshio Sakamoto only justifies the price even more.- XGN

Wrath of the Druids is an excellent first DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The expansion offers a challenging new enemy, a comprehensive story, and a beautiful country to explore. Not everything is perfect, but if this is the benchmark for future DLC, then players will be very happy.- XGN

Resident Evil Village is a deliciously gruesome game. Ethan Winters gets it again and once more has to go through hell to save his family. This time no crazy family, but a bigger setting that gives you more freedom. Although the game is somewhat linear initially, the level of horror continues to rise but this time combined with more puzzles and exploring. The enemies are terrifying and next to that survival is truly back with the RE4-inventory system.- XGN

Balan Wonderworld looks great but feels incomplete. The game lets you journey through six different stories while collecting golden statues and morphing from one outfit to another. There are 80 different outfits in the game, but some of them feel double or not useful at all. Where the game is great to play alone, the multiplayer feels rushed, where player two doesn't get to do all the things player one can. That being said, the game feels like a great way for kids to spend time.- XGN

Obsidian managed to hold on to their unique brand of humor throughout The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos, with the expected gags about capitalism and the value of human life. The story was fun and engaging, even though the mystery wasn't quite as mysterious as we had hoped.- XGN

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is brimming with content, both offline and multiplayer online. Even if you are only interested in one of the two, you'll find plenty to do. The port to Switch can be considered a success, as only the local co-op split screen seems to be missing. It's quite a feat to pack this much content into one package.- XGN

DOOM Eternal The Ancient Gods Part Two is a great finale story-wise, but when it comes to gameplay it is rather disappointing. The few new enemies and mechanics feel shallow and the actual final boss fight is a flop compared to what we've gotten in Eternal and the previous installment of DOOM. So just like Doomguy, we'll patiently have to wait until we can get going again because there's an itch that needs scratching.- XGN

Outriders is the new looter shooter from People Can Fly and Square Enix. It takes you to the planet Enoch, where mankind has to fight to survive and earn its place among the wild animals and hostile factions. It's got some great ideas, but lacks an interesting story and more importantly, good loot.- XGN

It Takes Two is an amazing game that keeps players on their toes with its impeccable pacing in both story and gameplay. While the Rampage Mode was a bit disappointing, Monster Hunter Rise ultimately manages to incorporate the excellent gameplay of its predecessors while introducing the interesting new Wirebug mechanics. The game also brings back the interesting and often wonky weapon designs that many fans missed in Monster Hunter World. While graphics may have been sacrificed somewhat for this timed Switch Exclusive, Rise's personality more than makes up for it.- XGN

Bravely Default II returns to what gamers loved about the first installment while using the better hardware to upgrade the graphics. The return of the Brave/Default system, a wide variety of jobs, and the many interesting, outspoken characters are offset by quite a difficulty spike in story-related fights which too often require extensive grinding.- XGN
