In a climate of next-gen gaming, Rogue Trooper comes across as an anachronistic ode to the Xbox third person shooter. Not exactly rough around the edges but then not entirely polished either, it's a game best suited for either rabid fans of the comic upon which it is based or those who simply must experience every game out there that lets you play with big guns.

The Simpsons Game is easily the family's best outing yet: genuinely clever and with a devilish ability to spot gaming's weak spots and exploit them for massive laughs, it's the kind of game that will appeal to fans and gamers of all ages.

Fruit Ninja Kinect is a game that many people will instantly enjoy, and the Kinect controls make it much more accessible to those who may be averse to traditional control schemes.

As possibly the only tennis game to be released in 2012 (no others are announced yet), and the only tennis game released in almost a year, Grand Slam Tennis 2 will definitely suffice, just don't expect a game-changer. There's a bit of work to be done before EA climbs to the position of number one seed.

While tactics are required the crux of battle really comes down to brute force, which may diminish the longevity of the game's appeal.

Whether it's the story that will remind you of your favourite Japanese animation series, the relentless action and fast paced gameplay or even the unusually likeable angry Asura, it's an action game that many fans of the genre should have a go with at least once.

The strategy is basic at best, while the audio-visual presentation is tepid and uninspired.

If it weren't for issues with pacing and repetitive environments during the first half of the campaign, Armageddon could really have become something memorable. Instead it's hard to think of it as anything but a forgettable third-person shooter where it's fun to explode everything to smithereens.

Crackdown 2 still feels rough and unfinished. In fact, it feels even more so than the first, especially when viewed as a single player experience.

Overall, The Sims 3: Pets on the Xbox 360 is a fun and addictive game where the time will fly by and you will not notice it. A few bugs do affect the gameplay from time to time but do seem to be rare.

A slow paced game that will turn away many potential gamers. On the other hand it has a story which is of the highest quality and will keep patient gamers happy the whole way through the game.

Virtua Tennis 4 is a great tennis game that features more of an arcade like, less realistic feel when compared to the recently released Top Spin 4. The career mode is robust and very interesting, featuring some obscene mini-games that teach the player the ins and outs of the game. If I had to say, though, Virtua Tennis 4 definitely provides a much more accessible and less technical tennis simulation and it is bound to appeal to more people.

It looks great, it's dangerously addictive, and most importantly the wealth of professionally presented and enjoyable content makes it a value-packed purchase for anyone who likes a good puzzle game.

There are a lot of great ideas contained in the game, but overall the game falls flat and leaves you feeling greatly unsatisfied.

Timeshift is a simplistic and vaguely enjoyable shooter with an unfortunately scheduled release. It's a shame about the other shortcomings Timeshift brings to the table, otherwise it could have been a sleeper classic.

Sega Rally Online Arcade is a very arcade-like racer that is bound to impress those who loved to get their race on in arcades whenever they could, but be warned that the formula has not been shaken up too much since the original game hit, which is a bit unfortunate.

Just Dance 3 is evidence that despite the questionable quality of the franchise that the series is here to stay. While it's not particularly a bad game, it's just more of a case of it not feeling like a game at all but rather an interactive jukebox. This will be a hit with anyone who has Kinect and a group of rather confident or at least willing friends, but the whole experience feels notably half baked.

Even with new levels, added extras and a new multiplayer mode with Xbox Live support, it really doesn’t scrub up and match the polish of some other recent titles.

It's fun to play through though and the Career mode is quite long and challenging but a few more game modes such as a couple of arena style levels and a few extra weapons to mix things up a bit definitely would not have hurt.

As such it really boils down to that third group, the Guitar Hero fan who doesn't care about Aerosmith one way or another, and sadly this game won't do anything much to win them over either.

I would have liked the building and object acquisition to be a little more worthwhile than it is, as that is a big aspect of the original and brings out the interior decorator and architect in all gamers.

Homefront succeeds in many areas. It's an improvement in storytelling and multiplayer in every way over their first game, Frontline: Fuel of War, and Homefront shows that in many areas they've clearly listened to the fans of their (underappreciated) first game. It's not the killer single player experience that having someone such as John Milius onboard should have given us, but it's still an enjoyable, if slightly dated, and short, experience.

The violence in The Punisher game is over the top, like the comic it is based on. It never seems overly disturbing like in the game "Manhunt," and you never feel that you are playing anything other than a comic based game.

An A-grade platform adventure romp that is enjoyable for anyone regardless of their age. It’s a bit too easy for veteran gamers, and the scenery pop-ups can distract, but neither detracts from the top-notch experience.

Enchanted Arms could best be described as a Japanese-style RPG for Dummies: it introduces players to the sort of Eastern RPG philosophies that games like Oblivion tend to shy away from: soap-operatic stories, linear narratives, turn-based combat, and lots and lots of collecting things.

There's two ways to interpret Earth Defence Force 2017: you can love it for its campy B-Grade trappings, or dismiss it as a crap quality game and go back to your Gears of War.
