    It would be nice to describe the game as Dynasty Warriors meets Monster Hunter meets Dragon Ball Z, but because there's no online play the Monster Hunter bit is redundant.

    With two great games that will take somewhere in the region of 15-20 hours to complete, superb presentation and a sense that you're playing something different to the norm, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena comes highly recommended. If it weren't for a few unfortunate bugs and the odd strange design decision that score below this paragraph might even have been a notch higher.

    The other major problem is that the game as a whole is pretty short: You can get through the game in about 10 to 12 hours, maybe less if your work swiftly, and once you're done there's really not much left to play for.

    Ninja Blade has no right to be as entertaining as it is. It's nowhere near as accomplished as the genre's heavyweights, but anyone able to see it as the roller-coaster ride it is should have a great time. It's a game to play in the company of friends, laughing at the on-screen randomness and insane bosses, and because of that we can't help but recommend it.

    The non-twin-stick controls won't be for everyone, but once you've got to grips with the system Doublesix has created there's no end of fun to be found here. With enough depth to keep you coming back for weeks, if not months down the line, high score junkies won't be disappointed.

    This Director's Cut deserved to be spared from patchy audio and shonky cutscenes, but it wasn't. Regardless of this fact, the brilliance of the Templars remains largely undiminished.

    The Wii version, however, suffers from a point drop simply because it's a lazy port that's got no effort behind it. So, as with so many Final Fantasy games, Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time is one for the fans.
