Talk about a blast from the past. SEGA Bass Fishing harkens back to the days of the Dreamcast and when arcades were still clinging to life. This Wii port barely changes the original formula which turns out to be unfortunate in regards to the presentation.

Sloppy and muddy controls, a broken aiming mechanism combined with a couple of characters who you’ll never really care for at any point make for a dull and tedious gaming experience. Compound that with the shoddy squad mechanics, lack of online co-op, and a seemingly broken online experience doesn’t make the game sound appealing in the slightest.

From the AI to generic gameplay and shoddy presentation values there are several things that keep this game from being as fun as it had the possibility to be. In the end this title is little more than a weekend rental for FPS fans looking for something to pass some time with.

But the real question is does the game itself warrant the purchase, and bluntly I don’t think it does. Arcade games are short, very short – and while that’s not a reason to ignore a game in the case of a one trick pony like Time Crisis 4 it is a reason to ignore it.

With the right controls, this could have been a fun, if repetitive brawler, but with the so-so controls that are in place, it became just a repetitive brawler that might be entertaining for younger players, but it probably won't hold their attention.

This game might not have caused such disappointment if the concept wasn't such an intriguing idea, but when you combine these fun elements, and the game is a) not all that fun to play and b) distinctly limited, people are going to be let down.

Unfortunately, with an unstable online community, it loses the majority of its selling power. Heap on top of that, a thin plot that gives up shortly after takeoff, graphics more haggard than London after a blitz, and some occasionally frustrating controls, and a recommendation can’t be given with a clear conscience.

Yet another game where the concept promises something great, but the execution falls far short. Despite the impressive look, satisfying puzzles and the helpful fail-safe offered by the time travel, the actual effort of manipulating the items around you is more like work than fun, thanks in large part to the awkward controls

The length of the game is completely dependent on your difficulty. If you play on Easy, you can breeze through the entire campaign in 30 to 45 minutes. If you crank it up a bit, you are likely looking at a couple hours of playtime. Unfortunately, the lack of multiplayer extremely hamstrings the replay value.

The eight missions can be knocked out in about 2 to 3 hours and the two player Steel Commander mode is buggy in addition to boring when playing against the AI. Ultimately, The Sims is a game you can lose yourself in, as you get caught up in the antics of the little digital people you've created. You share their hopes, their fears, their ups and downs. Or, at least, you can do that on the PC. On the 3DS, you mainly have to mop up a lot of messes, half of which are created by your Sim wetting themselves. It's about as fun as it sounds.
