While I'm not a huge fan of their material after the Black Album, the game is set in such a way that you don't have to play a ton of songs you dislike in order to progress, and there are so many classics here that even the most hardcore Metallica fan will love it.

As I've stated in the past, I love point-and-click adventures, but Broken Sword, with its engagingly deep storyline, gorgeous art, fun writing, entertaining puzzles and terrific vocal cast, just raised the bar to a level that will be incredibly hard to meet for any game.

There are elements of Monsters vs. Aliens that could be part of a really enjoyable game, but they are served up over and over again, and with an nonadjustable level of difficulty that's too easy for anyone who's graduated middle school, before becoming too difficult for the kids enjoying it.

If you have a kid and are already planning a trip to Six Flags, this is a solid pick-up, as this $25 game has a $30 kid's admission voucher in it (if you go before the end of 2009,) so it's basically like getting the game for free. Just be prepared to hear complaints from a soon-to-be bored child a few days after purchase.

Throw in some iffy control elements, a lack of in-depth online play and real players, and game-play modes that lack variety, and this game fails to excite. And now, with a cheaper downloadable version available that should satisfy fans of the big-name teams who make the Big Dance each year, this game's value is a bit lower yet.

Though there's not much more to this release than the 25 classics and nine previously-available XBLA games, and the presentation isn't nearly as clean as it could be (likely because of technical requirements for the online play) there's a lot of fun to be had with these games, and with the XBLA games running five bucks a pop, this collection is a genuine bargain (if you like the XBLA games, that is.)
