STARBITES may be generic in a lot of ways but there's no denying how charming its cast is and how well its many elements come together to formulate a rewarding battle system that gradually becomes more strategic as you progress.

With some great games in the series' past, Puzzle & Dragons Gold is disappointingly stripped down yet it still offers an exciting combat dynamic, especially for those who prefer to flex their skills online.

Unplugged - Air Guitar is a lot of fun for the duration that it lasts but after the repetition and lack of visual variety starts to sinks in, you'll gladly put your axe down, take off your headset, and re-enter the real world.

Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 isn't going to give your brain a workout or challenge you with precision gameplay but you could do a lot worse if you're just looking for a simple and easy to pick up and play 2D action game.

When it comes to 2D fighters, Koihime Enbu Ryo Rai Rai is certainly a competent one that rivals some of the more well-known entries in the genre. If you're a fighting game enthusiast then you definitely won't regret giving it a download.

As a newcomer to the franchise, I enjoyed My Hero One's Justice 2. It certainly isn't the best arena fighter but what's here is definitely fun stuff. With that said, hardcore fighter fans may find the experience to be quite a tough pill to swallow.

Marfusha is a weird game. On one hand, its gameplay is one-note and repetitive; be it intentional or not. On the other hand, it's downright hilarious with its goofy dialogue, oddball premise, and dystopian elements that actually tie into the gameplay. I recommend it.

Cuphead is a stunning game that truly stands out from its peers on a presentational level. That being said, its gameplay doesn't do anything particularly unique and its difficulty is implemented in a way that it basically requires fruitless repetition.

If the concept of a competitive shoot 'em up appeals to you then Rival Megagun is definitely a solid choice. Although it could have been so much more, what's here is still a unique and enjoyable game. Here's hoping we see more shmups like it down the road.

Star Ocean First Departure R is a satisfying old-school ARPG that's sure to scratch your nostalgia itch. Some aspects may hold a bit too much retro baggage but there's no denying just how charming and imaginative this classic RPG is.

Megadimension Neptunia VII is a brilliant game that's worth playing through for any fan of quirky JRPGs. That being said, this Switch version currently performs poorly and it's definitely not the best version of Nep-Nep's grandest adventure.

No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES isn't one of the best games in the series but the escape room segments are handled exceptionally well and I had great fun hanging out with the familiar characters.

Magical Drop VI may not feel like the step-up for the series that I was hoping it would be but it still remains a thoroughly entertaining puzzler that's even more enjoyable with friends whether you play locally or online.

If you're a 2D puzzle adventure aficionado who doesn't already own Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on one of the half dozen consoles that it's currently available for then it'll make for a worthy purchase but those who do have it will find little reason to get it again on Switch.

PixelJunk Monsters 2 is a decent follow-up to the classic tower defense game. It may take a few steps back but there's no denying that its fresh visuals and addictive gameplay make it worth checking out for long-time fans and real-time strategy enthusiasts.

Hey! Pikmin is a laidback 2D puzzle platformer that includes a large amount of content and replay value. However, its easy-as-pie difficulty level will make any seasoned gamer get bored quicker than Captain Olimar can crash his ship.

If you have a soft spot for retro RPGs and want to spend time in a lighthearted world with plenty of humour then you'll definitely enjoy what Dragon Lapis has to offer. It may be too simple at times but there's no denying just how well-crafted of a journey it is.

If you're looking for an enjoyable online multiplayer game for Switch then you could do a lot worse than Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition. As long as you don't take the over-the-top violence too seriously, it can be a very fun game.

Fans of escape rooms and puzzle-solving games that don't mind a more adult and dark tone will have a lot of fun with Zero Time Dilemma. It may have dated graphics and sound but that shouldn't stop you from playing it through to see all of its endings.

Your enjoyment with Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom will vary according to how much mileage you get out of its gameplay loop until it begins to become tedious. Before that sinks in, it's a great RPG but afterwards, you'll gladly come back to it just every once in a while.
