Zombie High Dive holds the reins too tightly for me to sit back and enjoy the simple physics game this could have been.

The issue is that the meta-game surrounding Space Colors is a bit lacking.

If you like RPGs, this is a game you need to play. It's a fantastic port of one of the true essentials of the genre.

With the right people and mix of devices, a raucous time is in the offing, full of last-second upsets and opportunities for gloating. Every aspect of Astro Duel contributes to achieving its specific ambitions; it is a product of singularly focused design.

Micromon is probably one of the best dollars you can spend on a Japanese-style RPG in the App Store, and if you're even slightly into monster collecting, you're going to get a fantastic amount of value out of this game.

There's quite a bit of fun to be had from playing Crazy Taxi: City Rush. It's buried deep under its heavily-monetized metagame, full of energy systems, wait timers, and currency systems, in a way that is extremely labyrinthine, and I wish the energy system wasn't there at all, or at least had a way to buy out of it, but they far from ruin this game.

I have no doubts that we'll be back to business as usual before too long, but in the meantime, if you've been waiting for Kairosoft to try something different, you'll definitely want to check out Kairobotica.

As long as you don't mind a short experience, The Great Prank War is consistently fun from start to finish.

If you really must see how the latest Unreal Engine plays on iOS, then feel free to try it, but I really don’t think it’s worth it at this point.

There's just too much work for too little fun for anyone who isn't already attuned to what Blood Bowl is about.

Give Deep Loot a little time to sink in, and I think you will be suprised at what you can bring out of it.

If the floaty jumping and difficult dashing are things you can live with, then Super Heavy Sword might be worth your attention. Otherwise, you're better off giving this one a pass and hoping, like me, that Monster Robot Studios are someday able to address the chronic problems that are holding back their excellent ideas and enthusiasm.

Revolution 60 would make a terrific animated movie, but as a game, I'm left a little cold by it.

And I mean that in the most endearing way possible, this is a game that shouldn't be as much fun as it is but it's just so wonderful.

Verne fans in particular are going to have a fantastic time with this game, but I think almost anyone is going to find plenty to like in 80 Days.

It's another strong licensed effort for the Ninja Turtles, even if it probably won't be one for the history books.

This has never been the strongest single-player KOF, so I'm not sure it's worth suffering the finicky controls if you're only going to play against that vile, cheating CPU.

Dragon Raiders isn't perfect, but it is a darn solid entry in the endless runner category, with plenty of levels to make it more than worth the $0.99 price.

Mad Bullets isn't likely to revive the genre, but as a lighthearted homage to vintage shooters and Western movies, it's a winner.

Traps n' Gemstones could probably benefit from a little more flash and razzle-dazzle, and a few bosses wouldn't hurt, but I'm not going to gripe too much when what's here is as good as it is.

Just progressing through the game normally is okay: killing hundreds of zombies at a time is hard to make boring. But the meta-game struggles.

I think there are plenty of better choices in the genre on iOS, but if you've exhausted the usual suspects and are looking for something else decent, Secret Files is worth checking out, warts and all.

I'm not sure if it's a case of Telltale stretching themselves too thin or if it was just a bad idea to try to make a direct sequel to what clearly worked well as a standalone story, but whatever the case, I've almost completely lost faith that Season Two can be salvaged. I guess we'll see in the next episode, though.

Fans of the Guardians, whether the new team or the old, will certainly be pretty happy with The Universal Weapon. It's not an original game, but it is a well-crafted one, and it fits a team-based set of characters nicely.
