Its stylish comic book-style visuals look great, the voice acting is top-notch, and you definitely get the feeling of being on a Jurassic Park adventure. What hurts the game is the overall lack of variety in the gameplay and how far it tries to spread what is here. The gameplay is just too simple. The cheap scares get a little old, and the cheap deaths get very old. Not a complete disaster, but ultimately only of interest to fans.- TouchArcade

In its current state, I’d recommend picking up Hokko Life on another platform over Nintendo Switch if you have the option. The long load times and performance issues even in early parts hold it back. The developers have said that they are still working on the game and bringing more to it, and Hokko Life has the potential to be much better on Switch. Right now, I can only recommend it with the caveat about technical issues and assuming you like the aesthetic. I enjoyed my time with this blend of elements from Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons.- TouchArcade

Moonglow Bay has a lot of good aspects to it that unfortunately are balanced against some balancing and pacing issues. All of this is overshadowed by the game’s buggy, unpolished state here on the Switch. Between framerate issues, crashes, collision mess-ups, and other bizarre bugs, it’s hard to properly get into the world the game is trying to build. I’m hoping the game can improve with some updates, because there is something here that compelled me when the problems weren’t pushing me away.- TouchArcade

It's certainly not the most interesting revival we've ever seen, and neither does it forge any new ground in terms of a standalone iOS title. I'd never accuse it of being a bad game -- far from it -- but it's simply too pedestrian to get remotely excited about.- TouchArcade

Subdivision Infinity is a slick-looking shooter that offers excellent action and accessible, arcade-style gameplay. It's a straightforward game that has a few nasty difficulty spikes here and there, and it will definitely test both your skills and patience at times. That said, the pure thrill of zipping around and shooting down a pack of enemies more than balances out those frustrating moments. It isn't much more than a weekend's worth of joy, but it's a weekend well-spent, to be sure.- TouchArcade

World’s End Club is an odd thing. It feels like it’s trying to tell a more family-friendly version of the now-common Death Game tale, but in doing so a lot of the tension and fascinating character work is tossed to the side. I like a good twist in a game, but most of the ones in this game just feel like they came out of nowhere. The platforming bits are somewhere between atrocious and irritating. It’s not without its merits, but if you aren’t completely opposed to playing the game on Apple Arcade that is probably the wisest course of action.- TouchArcade

I could imagine some people getting into Monster Menu. As I said, it’s not as though it doesn’t work as a game. But its signature mechanic isn’t fleshed out enough to carry an otherwise rote affair with so many other far more interesting roguelike games out there to enjoy. I would like to see a sequel hammer some of the ideas in here into something a lot better, because there is almost something to it. For here and now, it’s hard to generate much enthusiasm for this particular title.- TouchArcade

Given the amount of games in the genre hitting Switch lately, Paleo Pines does enough to stand out with its dinosaur and ranching elements. All in all, Nobleman: 1896 has an extremely unique blend of ideas and mechanics that show their potential at the beginning of the game but don't quite hit their stride until the latter half of the game. However, if you learn the game's various mechanics and press forward through its slightly repetitive beginnings, there is a unique and strategic experience to be had. The battle system is simple, but reasonably engaging and strategic. On the other hand, exploration is basically just moving from node to node on a map, fighting the occasional battle or watching an event play out. The visuals are okay, but they feel very budget. Indeed, that’s the feeling I get from the game as a whole. When you consider what twenty dollars can get you RPG-wise on the eShop, that’s not a good thing.- TouchArcade

Qualia is a visual novel that can’t seem to settle on what it wants to be. A sweet little romance with a quirky premise? A piece of science fiction? An excuse for lewd scenes that have been cut from this version? At times it is all of these things, but it fails to nail down any of them to the degree that I would have preferred. It’s not entirely without its charms, but Qualia ultimately doesn’t live up to its potential in any regard.- TouchArcade

Like Andro Dunos 2 earlier this year, Ganryu 2 is a faithful sequel to a game that few ever expected to get a sequel to. In terms of gameplay, it goes well beyond the relatively humble design of the original, resulting in a title that fans of Shinobi and Strider will almost certainly take an interest in. It’s unfortunate, then, that even after at least one patch dedicated to addressing issues, this Switch version of Ganryu 2 has a number of problems that interfere with the gameplay. I’d love to give this a strong recommendation on the basis of the solid game behind the wonky performance, but I really can’t muster more than a weak nudge.- TouchArcade

Curse of the Sea Rats has a nice presentation and I like the multiplayer support, a rare sight in a game like this. Unfortunately, the dreadful controls knock this game on its tail before it even gets up to speed. Slow, fussy, and prone to losing out to animation priorities, the very act of moving your character around and attacking feels unpleasant. Even if you stick with it long enough to get used to all of that, the game that awaits you is a decidedly average entry into its genre. Let this one sink with the ship.- TouchArcade

I found enough things to like in Hell Pie that I could probably see my way to recommending it on other platforms. On Switch, there are just too many technical issues dragging down the experience for my liking. If you’re very tolerant of that kind of thing, you might still enjoy the game. It has some fun ideas, a crass but amusing sense of humor, and some interesting levels. In the end, Great Battles Medieval is a pretty good RTS/RPG hybrid that gets enough right to merit your attention whether you’re a fan of the genre or new to the style. It’s not perfect, but it’s still fun in a lot of key areas.- TouchArcade

Though I truly enjoyed the brainteasers and the puzzles are well-designed, Ferris Mueller’s Day Off is a bit of a tough one to wholly recommend.- TouchArcade

I think Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes does a good job of carrying out its goal of giving Suikoden fans a new game with a similar sort of appeal. There are some pacing issues here, and its commitment to the bit means those without the necessary nostalgia might feel a little annoyed at times, but overall this is an enjoyable RPG that hits some notes these ears of mine haven’t heard in a while. Unfortunately, this Switch version suffers from too many technical issues to recommend with any real vigor. Play this game, but I wouldn’t play it here unless you really have no other option.- TouchArcade

It just didn’t work for me. If you can see things the way the game presents, and you don’t mind some truly irritating puzzle design in places, you may take to LOVE better than I did.- TouchArcade

I’m a huge fan of both Star Wars and Tower Defense, so a game like this seemed like a slam dunk in my mind. Unfortunately, the game feels more like a cash grab of a true TD game in the Star Wars universe that actually focused on gameplay or story.- TouchArcade

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is marginally better than the previous game in many ways, and I'd dare say we are approaching the quality of the early console open world Spider-Man games in most respects, which is a delight for just a fiver. At the same time, there are a variety of things included in this game that not only do not benefit the end user but actively sabotage the entire experience of trying to enjoy the game.- TouchArcade

Ultimately, if you love Superman and you miss the days when arcade games didn't bother with all that story nonsense and just let you get straight to beating stuff up, you might get something out of this game.- TouchArcade

Skull and Bones is a hard game to recommend at full price, but I do recommend checking out the free trial. I enjoy naval combat and open world Ubisoft games, and Skull and Bones with all its updates so far is good, but it has potential to be better. If you do plan on playing Skull and Bones on Steam Deck, keep in mind that it is an online only experience. I will likely grab it on console to also play there with cross progression. For fans of Tony Stark and his universe, Iron Man 3 is definitely a fun adventure. For those who care nothing whatsoever for comics or the Iron Man universe, it’s still fun as an endless runner. It doesn't feel as finished as other Gameloft games, but time may change that. But be prepared to either spend lots of your time, or your money, to get the most out of Iron Man 3.- TouchArcade

At first, the Switch version seems fine enough. A clear visual downgrade, but it’s all running reasonably smoothly. But once you start getting to busier battles, more crowded areas, and situations with more chaos, everything comes unglued. The framerate flies all over the place, which is bad in a game whose chief combat gimmick is timed dodging. It hitches up at times, and flatout stops in the middle of the action to do whatever. I recognize the technical challenges in realizing this port on this hardware, but if this is the best that could be mustered, it perhaps should not have been done. We’re left with a heavily troubled port of a rather middling game, and I don’t know that filling in the story gaps is worth dealing with that.- TouchArcade

Of course, everything else in No Red T-Shirts is really all in good fun. But man, it's hard to shake the feeling that there's something a little wrong with punishing protesters and shaking down photographers.- TouchArcade

The game is decidedly dated for numerous reasons, and although the game was a trailblazer for its time, the touch screen controls don't really lend themselves very well to a precision platformer.- TouchArcade
