    For all I know I’m the only person left on the planet that cares about Snow Bros. and Toaplan’s legacy in single-screen platformers. Nonetheless, it is a bit of arcade history and this is preserving a property that was almost lost. I’ve had an absolute blast playing through this, the new levels are great, and now there’s an outside chance that there might be all-new Snow Bros. adventures on the horizon.

    Snow Bros. Special is a faithful remake of the arcade classic that's sure to bring back memories for those who played it back in the day. The disappointing part is that the original really isn't all that good which pains me to say because I remember it fondly.

    This new Snow Bros game is great. On the one hand, the most veteran players can return to its fun mechanics and its great sound effects, in addition to allowing us to play 30 new levels.

    While I’m happy that this remake turned out better than expected and there is now an easily accessible way to play Snow Bros., Snow Bros. Special feels like it’s caught between the couch cushions of a straightforward re-issue and a full-blown revival. It’s a bit pricey to be the former and a bit light on features to be the latter. Snow Bros. fans who don’t mind dropping twenty bucks to have a decent remake will be happy with what they get here, but others may find there isn’t quite enough here to make a decent snowman.

    It’s not a ridiculous proposition, but it’s not an outstanding one either. Snow Bros. isn’t exactly a classic, so while I’m happy to see it pop up again, I’m not very enthusiastic enough about the end result to start throwing around recommendations. It’s not a game that has been ported very often, so having it available at all is worth the release.

    Look, there's no way to sugarcoat it — Snow Bros. wasn't worth bringing back. It's pretty much a D-grade arcade game with no interesting hook, and no amount of gussying it up can disguise that. The Monster Challenge mode sounds interesting, but it's DLC. All that was really needed was 'Arcade Archives: Snow Bros,' so that fans could get what they want at a decent price, the game was preserved on a modern console, and we could all just move on with our lives. It's gonna be a snow from us.

    I love Snow Bros! I have played dozens of hours of this game (both the arcade and Mega drive versions). For fans of the game, this is a worthyI love Snow Bros! The visuals are nice, the presentation is smooth, and it plays really well. The monster challenge DLC adds lots of replay value to the game and the 30 extra levels provided in arcade mode are a nice extension to the traditional 50 level campaign. There are a couple of difficulty spikes - the bosses on levels 70 and 80 are REALLY challenging in single player mode, but you can just 'cheat' past them if they get too frustrating by tagging in and out with the 2nd player if you have a second controller (just keep on tagging in with the other player when you get down to your last life). The only real negative thing I can say about the game is it's price, but I just picked up the game and the DLC for $15AUD at 60% off, and at this price Snow Bros Special is pretty good value.… Expand

    -bajones de fps sin ningún motivo en algunos mapas
    -estilo artístico inferior al original
    -no incluye ningún modo para aplicar los gráficos originales
    -los mapas nuevos son bastante sosos
    -precio muy alto para las horas que te va a durar hasta que te canses
