The artificial feel of the game hampers its campaign to become one of the best shooters of its kind, and (as we’ve seen time and time again) the main gimmick has sold the rest of the experience short.

So, it’s a mixed bag then – some great shooting and driving levels marred by the lacklustre fps sections.

Rainbow Six Lockdown doesn't quite join the ranks of the big guns because it has too many inconsistencies and troublesome flaws to hold up as an endlessly entertaining experience.

On one hand, it’s got quite a good structure and the technical style is impressive, but on the other it’s just not fun to play.

We also love the fact that many of the in-world objects can be used as weapons (chairs, ashtrays, spades) and that you can take hostages, releasing them after a incapacitating squeeze to the throat.

Taking the accepted route and reviewing the title on the quality by which it ape’s real-life however, we find a game which delivers exactly what hardcore b’ball fans would want. You know into which camp you fall.

It’s a great game with visual flair and an immense depth of gameplay that recreates the “Sweet Science” perfectly.

Frankly, gamers fall into two categories: those who recognise these titles (and will probably jump at the chance for some cheap reminiscence), and modern gamers who should better know their history. This super-cheap pack is recommended to both.

Aside from a few camera issues the game is visually stunning, combine this with the show stealing repartee between the major players and Destroy All Humans! becomes an almost essential addition to your gaming galaxy.

Sadly, Genji gameplay appears to be as stuck in the past as its setting and there's no amount of elegance that can cover a flaw like that up.

For those with an open mind The Summoner is a very original and very entertaining game that melds PC and console gaming perfectly to create something very original indeed.

Add to this some slightly suspect enemy AI and a series of horribly misguided cut-scenes (these attempt to ape the dark humour of Robocop and fail) and you’ve got a fairly mediocre release.

Once the initial novelty of letting your Sims do a Petula Clarke has worn off, there isn't actually a massive amount of new stuff here.

The sheer quality of every graphic, sound effect, the gripping playability and the level of detail to be found in the game goes to show what effort the team has made to produce a stunning title, congratulations to them!

The responsive controls, intelligent racing and challenging tracks more than make up for the rather disappointing graphics that are becoming the signature of the series.

Manages to offer you completely believable and very original environments that don’t just go for all the usual stereotypes.

Repetitive and tiresome at times but that's not the problem. The problem is that the developer has made no effort at all with the shadow/lighting system.

Sadly, it would appear that most of Midway's classic titles have already been used in the first compilation and apart from a small selection; a lot of the games on offer are space filers and nothing more.

The rather twitchy controls don’t help matters either, forcing you to persevere through, rather than enjoy, the game.

At the very least this is a good-looking wasted opportunity, while at its most, it's a snazzy disappointment.

Third Age is the definitive Lord Of The Rings experience. It remains faithful to the film trilogy in terms of graphics and sound, and uses the licence to full effect, while at the same time delivering a captivating and enjoyable adventure. Good work EA.

With no improvement of note this one is for hard (armored) core fans only.

It’s the style of the game that makes Spider-Man a cut above the rest. Unlike most super-hero based games, Spidey is created for the fans, who'll lap it up.
