Exception is a Tron-like visual feast, full of inventive and dynamic action platforming that’s as satisfying as it is stylish.- TheSixthAxis

Chernobylite is a game that's dripping in atmosphere, but doesn't quite hit the mark in other areas. If you can get past its clunky shooting and stealth mechanics, there’s some fun to be had in base building and people management.- TheSixthAxis

Astor: Blade of the Monolith offers an enjoyable action RPG experience with charming visuals and character design. However, with weak combat and a lack of things to see and do in the overworld, it’s an experience that will soon be forgotten.- TheSixthAxis

Abyssus brings a distinctive brinepunk style to an otherwise straightforward co-op roguelite shooter. There's fun to be had here, but the step up in difficulty when playing co-op is a bit too punishing.- TheSixthAxis

Tides of Tomorrow is a good story that's alternately helped and hindered by its asynchronous multiplayer. It enables some compelling gameplay options but sometimes takes agency away from the player as relying on other players means you can't really do anything yourself a lot of the time. The story can also contradict itself sometimes due to the nature of the gameplay. It's enjoyable despite this, though it starts to outstay its welcome towards the end.- TheSixthAxis

While it has its flaws, there’s a uniqueness to Get Even we rarely see in video games today. Right away, The Farm 51 demonstrates its desire to be different, crossing between genres and actually taking a gamble. While it doesn’t always pay off, we’re still left with something both intriguing, experimental and, at times, thought provoking.- TheSixthAxis

Stranger of Sword City excels at one thing, and really flounders at the others. It’s a rewarding experience if you’re a fan of challenging RPGs and gameplay depth. If you’re a fan of well-written dialogue, engaging music or proper difficulty curves though…well….there are a lot of other video games out there that may suit you better.- TheSixthAxis

God Eater 3 boasts fantastic monster hunting combat and the best visuals we've seen from the series, but hangs onto too many of the previous game's hang-ups.- TheSixthAxis

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has a slow and snore-worthy opening hour, but hiding behind that repetitive introduction is an incredible blend of high-octane 2.5D combat and rewarding resource gathering gameplay. The icing on the cake, though, is the Marvel Cinematic Universe-worthy parade of character cameos and appearances that promise some of the many faces you'll be battling alongside (or maybe even against) once Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes comes out.- TheSixthAxis

As you finish the Tour and start to take on more and more challenges, Driveclub starts to show its true colours. It may be difficult for some to adapt to in an age where racers sprawl across open worlds featuring hundreds of cars and tons of tracks, but this is a game with a very singular focus.- TheSixthAxis

A fairly well-rounded and solid entry in Milestone’s franchise, Ride 4 makes a similarly well-rounded and solid jump to the new generation. There’s no need to compromise on resolution or performance anymore, with the PS5 able to power the game to look its very best, but it’s really the smart take on how to use the DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers that will enhance how the experience feels.- TheSixthAxis

Transference’s inventively spins its story of obsession and broken families into a game that’s all about perception and twisted realities. It’s not entirely successful, failing to confront the topics it raises and failing to live up to its Hollywood billing and origins, but it’s still deeply atmospheric as you flick between realities, solve puzzles and figure out the lengths to which Raymond Hayes would truly go.- TheSixthAxis

I was so ready for an action RPG entry in the Neptunia series to come along and scratch my itch, but instead it puked on my lap and barely touched the itch. I had so much fun with the story and characters, but with better combat and more consistent performance, this game could’ve been something special.- TheSixthAxis

Whether you’re a Sudoku enthusiast or a new player, Hexologic is a puzzle game that’s easy to pick up and learn. If you’re looking to pick your brains at clever numerical puzzles, this game will keep you busy with its wide selection. It may not be one to try and beat in one go, but it’s definitely worth picking up if you like your Sudoku with a twist.- TheSixthAxis

Nexomon: Extinction is a solid take on the monster training genre with some interesting gameplay tweaks on the Pokémon formula and narrative decisions. The higher difficulty saps some of the pace and enjoyment of adventuring, making me hanker for a return to a Pokémon game. Still, if you’re after some monster catching and battling, Nexomon: Extinction will do the job.- TheSixthAxis

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is a great top-down Soulslike with the right mix of challenge and reward. It makes good use of the systems and mechanics it borrows from the genre staples and combines this with a darkly beautiful aesthetic and some memorable boss fights. It's not always clear how or the best way to progress, but if you’ve got a hankering for a bloody good time then you won’t go too far wrong with Morbid.- TheSixthAxis

With a career mode lacking in substance, strange bugs and a limited set of content, Assetto Corsa Competizione is hard to recommend. Perhaps in 2021, with a slew of patches and DLC expansions it will be in a better place, but for now, Assetto Corsa Competizione is a superlative solo driving experience trapped in a flawed video game.- TheSixthAxis

Automachef is a bizarre yet interesting take on a cookery game. Saldy, a lot of what it has going for it also goes against it and feels a little off – excuse the pun – as a result.- TheSixthAxis

Ruiner has some great set pieces and a dark, bleak world that I would normally gravitate towards. Yet when the dystopian renders everyone inhabiting it to be as relatable as raw sewage, there was little for me to latch onto. Maybe you’ll find the world of Ruiner to be more bearable than I did, but even the best films of the genre have a glimmer of hope for the audience to cling to, something Ruiner is devoid of.- TheSixthAxis

Reverie is a game that suits the Switch very well. As a simple dungeon crawler, it does the job well with a steady difficulty progression as the story goes on, but it's the puzzles that provide most of the challenge, with some solutions require quite a bit of thinking outside the box. This is a short and succinct game that's great for those looking for something quite light.- TheSixthAxis

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is a welcome remaster and it’s great to see this game reach the wider audience it deserves. I’d definitely recommend picking this up if you’re a series fan, or are interested in what makes it so unique, but it shows its ages and loses some of what made it such a good fit for the Wii U. Whilst by no means a damp squib, this remaster doesn’t quite get you soaked with excitement.- TheSixthAxis

Dark and Deep is a focused and atmospheric title that doesn’t outstay it’s welcome. Most of this time is spent immersed in the unique aesthetic and it stands out amongst the many other copycat PT wannabes that flood the horror tag on Steam. The ending is interesting although some of the imagery felt too separated from the Doré influence and instead moved into more conventional folk horror. All in all, Dark and Deep is a well polished and fascinating indie horror that has a look and feel all of its own, and for that it deserves a wider audience.- TheSixthAxis

Renegades does a good job of bringing some fun back to Destiny 2 with some great campaign missions and new hub area. The Star Wars elements are close enough for you to spot the homage, but not so conspicuous as to pull you out the world of Destiny. Enjoyable while it lasts, but Bungie still need to do a lot more work to rescue the game as whole.- TheSixthAxis
