Bungie delivers a shooter that excels in moment-to-moment gameplay, with tight gunplay and a tense, addictive PvPvE loop that keeps you coming back. However, that strong foundation is held back by slow progression, gear imbalance, and systems that don’t always respect the player’s time. Marathon shows real potential, but right now, it feels like a game still trying to fully find its identity.

Calamity Angels: Special Delivery is a fun, bite-sized experience. It may make some not too happy about the number of things reliant on your luck and mood, but it was enjoyable.

While MLB The Show 26 does expand and move the dial forward for the franchise, some other things do make you realise that it isn’t a massive step forward. With its new features and World Baseball Championship inclusion they have opened up a lot of content. Also, another year of The Negro League is a massive win for history and learning.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 blends the musou gameplay of the Warriors games well with the world of One Piece. I do wish there was more of the story to offer fans of the series, but the game feels nice to play.

Etrange Overlord is a fun experience that will have you laughing and smiling. The gameplay can be a bit basic, but it still has its moments of fun.

Project Songbird soars onto the horror scene as one of the scariest indie games in recent memory. It’s also an incredibly moving title, aided by a heartfelt story and cozy compositions. Its various feathers of combat, puzzles, and traversal mechanics sometimes get ruffled, but they fly high in ambition for such a small game.

Ys X: Proud Nordics is built on the solid bones of Ys X: Nordics. It, however, doesn't add a lot of extra substance to warrant a new playthrough. It is the ultimate version of the game and the new recommended Ys to play for newcomers.

Neon Inferno is a blast. It has a lot of enemies you can shoot at, and with good visual design, you can understand how to react to everything on screen.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is a fast-paced co-op shooter that fully embraces its B-movie horror roots, delivering chaotic gunfights, grotesque enemies, and a thumping synth soundtrack. While its mechanics are familiar and progression is fairly light, the game shines when played with friends, turning every mission into loud, messy fun. It’s a confident, no-nonsense experience that values atmosphere and teamwork over depth, and succeeds by knowing exactly what it wants to be.

Combining a full narrative adventure with Rhythm-based gameplay is not something most would think about doing. D-Cell Games somehow accomplished this with a fantastic soundtrack, intriguing characters, and an animated flair that’s unlike anything else. The imperfections are certainly there with an over-reliance on exploration, jarring narrative elements, and some of the gameplay issues. But the game as a whole, nails the positives so well that it’s well worth pushing through to experience in its entirety.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian is a grand time in the Atelier series. It is fun and returns to the roots of the series, even by bringing back past characters from the series. It still suffers from the difficulties of the previous Atelier games, but fans will love it.

Cassette Boy may be doused in the green hues of Gameboy nostalgia but it certainly puts its own spin on puzzles with its modern Schrodinger system. Using the familiar elements of the Legend of Zelda and combining them with a rotating 3D camera has you questioning much more than just what you see, but also what you don’t.

Motorslice delivers an enjoyable experience with its chainsaw filled action and creative parkour obstacle courses. Aside from a few issues like the actual motorslicing mechanic and some parkour cues not working all the time, the game is well worth your time.

Trouble Witches FINAL! Episode 01 Daughters of Amalgam is a fun bullet hell. It adds a lot of content in the core experience, even if not all the content itself is very unique.

Code Vein II is what you love about the original game, with new additions and a new open world to explore. There are some performance and resolution issues that are present that can take some players out. Everything else, though, is beautiful. Especially the cast and character designs. The Character Customization is one of the best the series has to offer. Combat is engaging, and the memorable cast and story are what will make you continue the adventure. It may not be all gold, but it is an aesthetic work of art.

2K has done an amazing job with this years instalment, adding new things and improving other’s. Shooting feels amazing but Defence does need some tweaking. Also adding WNBA players to MyTeam, we come one step closer to Woman in MyCareer. Something that I think is more of a sooner then later addition.

Kill the Brickman is simple to pick up, but complex to master… but don’t worry, because a lot of it depends on luck with your build. One thing is for certain, despite the game overwhelming you up-front with its systems, it is highly addictive, and it will keep you playing for hours.

If Anthem actually had BioWare stick the landing, it would be something similar to what Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion has put out. Titanic Scion‘s story and gameplay does the job to somewhat get over the itch that Armored Core 6 came and went with. However, it feels as though it’s going the Vanquish route with how quick the pacing is. Titanic Scion delivers on giving players that freedom some mech games sorrowly need with a sequel that keeps you glued to your Arsenal.

Varlet brings a lot to the table in its systems and mechanics. It also adds a lot of self-discovery to the gameplay with the ruler and leader systems. The SSS requests are monotonous and definitely feel more like busy work than anything, but it doesn’t hold the game down too much.

Disgaea 7 Complete is a fantastic purchase if you own a Nintendo Switch 2 and don’t own Disgaea 7 already. If you are a hardcore fan then it is worth grabbing for the Asagi character to add to the collection. Otherwise I would say stick with getting the base version of the game. Disgaea 7 Complete does build on the original and having the DLC immediately is nice, but the base game didn’t really need the DLC.

Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights is a great entry point to the genre of Otome. It includes a simple premise and a basic dynamic that works well in the game’s favor.

PopCap and EA have managed to remaster a absolute classic. Plants Vs Zombies: Replanted is nothing if a brilliant oove letter to a game that could see a resurgence of the franchise or maybe some other classics that EA have twiddling its thumbs while sitting the vault.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage plays it safe but remains deliberate in its execution. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage gives both new and returning World Tournament fighters a reason to jump back in and welcome fresh challengers. Expecting more than the competitive spirit of “fight everyone on everything” might lead to a ring out for your expectations, though.

Hell is Us is an ambitious game, both in its presentation and subject matter. Exploring a dour setting without waypoints may not be for everyone. But for those looking for something different and experimental, Hell is Us offers a unique experience granting a sense of achievement.

Ys Memoire: Revelations in Celceta is still the same game from the PlayStation Vita. It is still a solid title to play with a strong core gameplay loop. It still has some of the problems of being made for that hardware, like its graphics and party AI.

Fallen City Brawl is a fun beat ’em up experience, but it doesn’t have any replay value. I also wish there was a bit more substance to the story in levels.

Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant may have its flaws with its execution, but if you liked the combat and the characters, then it is worth a look.

Cladun X3 is a pixel game that has a lot of charm and creativity. It can feel like it throws a lot at you, but at the end of the day, it is a fun and adventurous time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a cool roguelike that may stand on its own within the legacy of the brand. While it does its homework for what the Turtles are, Splintered Fate delivers a challenging step for a roguelike, whether it’s solo or even with others. If Hades is your stitch, the turtle boys’ new foray might be something to definitely check out.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach continues the same gameplay from the original without any meaningful innovations or ideas. That said, the brilliant story and unparalleled music and performances make this worth a look.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 is what we have come to expect from the franchise for better and worse. It just doesn’t do enough to set itself apart and recommend at full price, unless you specifically want the game for zombie mode.

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is a fighter brought back from the era of the PlayStation Portable. A lot of the enhancements are great but it doesn’t stop it from feeling like its still from a handheld from that era.

Little Nightmares III is a solid addition to the series, as it offers more scares and thrilling chase sequences. It could use some refinement to its systems, but Supermassive Games made for a smooth transition for the 3D puzzle platformer.

Homura: The Crimson Warriors is an otome game that should have been a hit with its setting, characters, and vibe. It does do a lot well, but some of the parts that it doesn’t do well with make the whole experience suffer.

In almost every aspect The Outer Worlds 2 is an improvement over its predecessor. However, been the rather bland and dare I say boring main quest, combined with the fact this game offers very little new to the genre by way of mechanics. It would be hard to say that The Outer Worlds 2 is anything more than a good, yet uninspired RPG. One that is harder to recommend given the stiff competition in the RPG genre and sub-genres here in 2025.

God of War: Sons of Sparta is a very good video game, with strong visuals, excellent music, and simple yet effective gameplay driving an ultimately interesting story. However, as a God of War title, it is held back from true greatness by early pacing issues and a presentation style that feels somewhat tone-deaf to the rest of the series.

Milano’s Odd Job Collection is a charming game that is basic and straight to the point. Do a bunch of mini-games as jobs to earn money, then spend that money on decorating the house or learning recipes.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout DX is an updated and enhanced version of the original game. It looks gorgeous, even if it is still a bit clunky overall.

World Heroes Perfect was taken from the crates with all its nostalgia intact and brought into the Premium Collection. If Eternal Champions was your Genesis fix back in the day, World Heroes Perfect might bring back those same feelings while letting you share them with the power of rollback netcode. Despite a few small nitpicks, it still has that same great taste you would get from the red and white MVS cabinet. It is something that needs to be experienced at least once. Its only real crime is not bringing the rest of its series kin along with it for a proper history lesson.

Styx: Blades of Greed delivers smart stealth design and expanded levels that reward patience, but rough edges and limited accessibility hold it back from greatness.

Rick Henderson has a lot to love when you get to play it and figure out the loop. It can be a bit too simple but for an arcade title it fits in well.

MY HERO ACADEMIA: All's Justice is the more improved version of the My Hero's Justice games. Unfortunately, it doesn't justify getting this game if you are new to the series. A lot of the narrative is gutted, and the controls can feel janky outside combat.

Atomfall Wicked Isle starts off promising with a trip to an eerie island inhabited by cults and creepy fish people. But the call of the mainland proves too much as it segues back to the base game in many ways. It’s a fine diversion, but doesn’t do much to differentiate itself from what’s already in the game.

Wrap House Simulator is just another one of those meme games that streamers play when they want to have a chill night, which is why it can be recommended. But if you don’t like the idea of working a virtual job after coming home from your real job, then this might not be for you.

In attempting to line up the perfect horror remake shot, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake takes a number of steps forward and a few steps back. The ghosts and environments are scarier, aided by new appearances and sound design. On the flip side, in chasing realism, the camera gameplay struggles under the weight of too many mechanics. As a game, Fatal Frame II Remake feels overdeveloped, though its horror elements are practically picture-perfect.

NASCAR 25 aims to be the definitive next-gen NASCAR experience on Xbox Series X, delivering stunning visuals, authentic handling, and a deeper career mode. While the foundation is strong, persistent bugs, technical hiccups, and missing features keep it from reaching full speed. It’s a solid start for the series’ revival, just one major patch away from greatness

Ninja Gaiden 4 delivers fast and furious action that will have you hacking and slashing through demons and cybernetic soldiers in a fun and satisfying way, but its overuse of gimmicks in its level design, lack of variety of weapons, and flat story keep this from being a game that will leave a lasting impression.

MotoGP 26 lands squarely in the middle of the pack, offering strong visuals and solid racing mechanics on Xbox Series X, but held back by familiar modes and a lack of real innovation. It’s an enjoyable and reliable entry for fans, yet it never quite pushes beyond what the series has already achieved, making it a good but not essential instalment.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection contains some of the greatest and most iconic games in the Mortal Kombat franchise! These were the games that put the series on the map, challenged censorship, and paved the way for other fighting games. Despite the games being fantastic, the selection of titles feels bloated and unnecessary, while the features, while good, seem like an average offering.

Thrive: Heavy Lies The Crown is not a bad game it’s just a game that is chasing the greats and constantly falling short. However, falling short in this genre tends to mean you are still a decent game.

Most people buy collections because of the games, and in that sense, you cannot go wrong here. Mega Man Star Force is a great series that you will have a lot of fun with, but it’s just not as good as Battle Network was. If you’re looking for special features, there are plenty here, but compared to other offerings from Capcom, it’s quite obvious that their Legacy Collections are copy/paste paint-by-numbers by now, so if you were hoping for something special or extra here, you won’t find it.
