I’ve been playing Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star every few days since launch, and the final game sadly lacks the content and variety in its current state to justify the asking price. It has a lot of potential, but needs a content update and an option to play with Japanese voices to be an easy recommendation even for fans of prior Fitness Boxing games.- The Mako Reactor

ONI: Road to be the Mightiest Oni’s gameplay and structure perfectly suit portable play, which makes the Switch version’s current state even more disappointing. Right now, I’d recommend it on another platform assuming those versions run better. This adventure game has a lot of soul and potential, but it is held back by a lackluster Switch port. The aesthetic does look great on the OLED screen, but everything else holds it back from being an easy recommendation.- The Mako Reactor

While Neptunia ReVerse is a great package for newcomers to get into Neptunia games, veterans should wait for a sale before jumping into Compile Heart's first PS5 release.- The Mako Reactor

If you’ve enjoyed No More Heroes and some of Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture’s other releases, you should definitely consider experiencing The Silver Case 2425, with its memorable narrative and excellent music, despite the technical issues on Nintendo Switch.- The Mako Reactor

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms should've been a great beat 'em up that took the Downtown Special: Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama concept to a Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting, but the lack of gameplay polish holds it back on Nintendo Switch. Hopefully Arc System Works revisits this in the future for another entry.- The Mako Reactor

Demon Gaze Extra for PC sees the PS Vita dungeon RPG finally arrive on Steam after all these years with a few new features, but the port is sadly bare-bones. Its high asking also doesn't help. Demon Gaze Extra is only worth grabbing right now if you're a fan of the developer and skipped the PS Vita original. Everyone else should wait for a discount.- The Mako Reactor

A nice addition to the base game for everyone who enjoyed this generation of Pokemon so far with a new location, some quality of life features, and its new content. It is however let down by a plethora of technical issues still plaguing the experience.- The Mako Reactor

Digimon World: Next Order isn't for everyone, and it might even disappoint Digimon fans hoping for another Cyber Sleuth, but it delivers for Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck owners who wanted a simulation RPG to play on the go. The asking price is a bit too high though for a re-release like this.- The Mako Reactor

Slap Fight has been the most interesting game from this collection, because I hadn’t played it before in any form. The 1986-released vertical shoot ’em up with its sci-fi setting looks great, but feels sluggish to play compared to what I’m used to in the genre. I like the gameplay mechanics that reminded me of B-Wings, but this game ended up being the weakest of the four in this collection. I still recommend it, but not as much as other games in BitWave’s classics series.- The Mako Reactor

Taito Milestones offers good value with its 10 arcade games, but lacks any extra content or bonus features making it feel like just a set of Arcade Archives releases rather than a package worth owning for fans of the developer with bonus interviews, artwork, and other potential extras.- The Mako Reactor

Despite the visual cutbacks and online experience right now, DNF Duel on Nintendo Switch is a competent fighting game. This version isn't close to the best way to experience the game, but those who only play on Nintendo Switch could do a lot worse in the genre than DNF Duel.- The Mako Reactor

Sisters Vs Sisters on PC is improved over the PS5 version even on Steam Deck despite a bare-bones port. While it isn't a massive leap for the franchise, it is one of the better entries despite its issues.- The Mako Reactor

Digimon Survive is an great visual novel that sprinkles in tactical RPG encounters, but it needs some optimization work on Nintendo Switch and to address the localization issues. Digimon Survive also makes good use of the Switch's features with touchscreen support and even HD Rumble adding to the experience. Hopefully Bandai Namco Entertainment can build on this for a sequel or new entry in the future.- The Mako Reactor

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series brings remasters of the first two Klonoa games to Nintendo Switch with some quality of life improvements, but it is held back by some unfortunate performance issues both docked and handheld. This release should've also included the bonus artbook and soundtracks in the base release as a museum or gallery to be a true celebration of Klonoa instead of being expensive DLC.- The Mako Reactor

The Guinness World Record winning Clockwork Aquario has gorgeous visuals and great music but some mechanics that aren't fully realized. If you're interested in this as a fan of Westone or arcade games, you will find a lot to like here assuming you're ok with how short it is.- The Mako Reactor

If you don't care about portability or motion controls, No More Heroes is worth getting on PC despite the port issues. Everyone needs to experience the awesome No More Heroes, but it deserves better than this release that still hasn't completely fixed even months after launch.- The Mako Reactor

Yurukill: The Calumniation Games on PS5 attempts to bring two genres together, but falters on both fronts. The adventure parts don't hit the highs of genre greats, and the shoot 'em up stages are a bit too basic for me. The setting and presentation are great, and Yurukill has potential, but it would've been better had the developers stuck to building it in a single genre.- The Mako Reactor

Deadly Premonition 2 on PC is the most bare-bones port I've played so far, but it runs without any issues on Steam Deck while being massively improved over the Nintendo Switch version. If you have a Steam Deck and skipped the Switch release of this game, it is worth getting to play on Valve's handheld system.- The Mako Reactor

Pac-Man World Re-Pac should've been an easy recommendation on Switch, but the inconsistent frame pacing in both performance modes holds it back. I hope future updates can address this, because this is perfect for playing on the go.- The Mako Reactor

Cannon Dancer Osman is a fun action platformer with great set-pieces, but one that would've been an easier recommendation if it cost half of what it does right now. The lack of any extra content like a gallery or interviews with the team makes it disappointing even as a retro re-release.- The Mako Reactor

Crystar is an action RPG with a compelling story, great voice acting, and excellent music. It is let down by mediocre combat and level design. On Nintendo Switch it includes all the DLC right from the get go at a lower asking price than other versions, but it has seen some noticeable visual and performance cutbacks compared to the PS4 version.- The Mako Reactor

Panorama Cotton is only essential for those who own every other Cotton release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It is a great showcase of what the Sega Mega Drive was capable of, but serves as more of a curiosity for those who already are into the world of Cotton.- The Mako Reactor

I've not played enough of Monochrome Mobius on PC for a full scored review, but I can say that this port is a lot better than the PS5 version going by the Japanese console demo I played. I'm looking forward to dig into the PC version more and see if it lives up to my high expectations when it comes to the narrative after how much I adore the Utawarerumono trilogy. Right now, I'm enjoying my time with Monochrome Mobius Steam Deck quite a bit.- The Mako Reactor
