Made by a single developer, an industry rookie, FixFox really brings a good amount of ideas to the table. The main mechanics are quite simple, designed to be relaxing and reassuring. The outline, however, stands out for brilliant ideas and insights, which contribute to the creation of an intriguing context. Not everything is perfect, some aspect for example are a bit generic (music, especially) and some other may appear unclear at first glance. Its slow and somewhat repetitive pace might also bore more action-oriented players.

Infinite Warfare is a nice and solid game, but it is far more daring in the single player campaign rather than in the multiplayer modes. A classic CoD, in a sci-fi setting.

There will always be a place for games like Freud’s Bones, which have some imperfections, yes, but are also daring and willing to explore new themes. Fortuna Imperatore’s debut game takes some considerable risks, such as having to explain psychotherapy to the player in order for him to untangle the main mechanics, but it hits the mark and churns out one of the most interesting systems of recent times. Not everything else is at the same level, but there is always a clear sense of the desire not to go down paths already taken by others: from a forerunner like Freud, one could not expect anything else.

[REDACTED] is an excellent Hades-inspired roguelite that wants to introduce new elements to stand out from the crowd and ends up getting in the way of itself. Forget the race for freedom against rivals, and you'll have an excellent dungeon crawler right on your hands with a whole bunch of weapons and uniforms to unlock in order to tear apart zombies, monsters, and bosses in increasingly brutal ways. Try to rely on confrontations with other fugitives, and you will be disappointed. The gameplay formula is still relatively fresh, the art design and excellent, so let's jump into this new ordeal without caring too much about originality.

XCOM Chimera Squad is a brillant spin-off which introduces a huge list of fresh new ways to play. AI and difficulty level are not perfectly balanced, but fun is guaranteed.

The overall experience is one of the most impressive I've ever seen, even in terms of its robustness. The version we played on had some inevitable bugs and glitches, but nothing that had a severe impact on the gaming experience. The most significant technical limitation concerns the loading times , which are quite long even with high-end configurations, but are ultimately justifiable given the amount of data to load, especially since once in the game, noticeable loading times are practically non-existent. Then, looking closely, there are a few flaws: detail pop-up (well masked by the overabundance of stimuli) is noticeable while moving, the acting is a bit stiff, there are sporadic issues with lighting and reflections, and above all, a strange night whose darkness doesn't encompass the farthest visible portion of the world, while we are immersed in darkness. But, guys, it really does happen quite often that you're left speechless.

Downward is a good platform with parkour elements, featuring an imaginative art direction and some open-world ambitions. Albeit a bit rough on the edges, the gameplay is challenging, robust, and with some nice quirks that will surprise the player.

A Case of Distrust is a charming and gripping noir interactive text adventure. Halfway between 80 Days and Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, Ben Wander’s game tells us about the roaring 20s in a very stylish way. If you can turn a blind eye to some cumbersome mechanics and a couple of trivial choices you’ll spend three lovely thrilling hours hanging around San Francisco.

Avowed isn’t going to be the next Baldur’s Gate 3, or this generation’s Skyrim, being closer to The Outer Worlds than either of those games. And exactly like The Outer World, it’s a great action-oriented RPG set in a bizarre but not unpleasant world that is easy to recommend despite a few flaws.

Sniper Elite 4 is a first-class game, troubled only by some minor flaws, such as an Artificial Intelligence not always up to the task. If you love the tactical stealth genre and the sniper rifles, you'll be more than pleased: the game offers an inspired level design with endless possibilities for every mission, and a high replayability value.

South of Midnight is a decent single player action-adventure, overall and without giving too much weight to the linear gameplay or to some technical and structural limitations. Narratively and artistically it is really intriguing, too bad that from a gameplay perspective it shows much less courage.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers isn't a soulslike without its problems, quite the opposite. And that's a shame, because despite all these issues, the game is convincing: the combat is fun, the setting is appealing, it can be spectacular without overdoing it, and it's also quite long. But then you fall to the floor and get a few extra slaps, you die to a boss and have to walk all the way back, you enter a room and find yet another stupid enemy hidden in a vase, and well, a lot of the charm is lost.

Star Wars Outlaws might have a gameplay that is occasionally rough and five dozens of different upgrade materials, but it makes up for any flaw with its excellent characters, a main story that always pushes you to look for the next chapter, and an unabashed love for the setting.

Toukiden 2 improves the first episode in almost every way, and it's definitely the best representative of the monster-slashing genre on PlayStation 4. It's not too challenging, considering how lethal and precise the AI-controlled companions are, but the graphics are always smooth, and the gameplay is varied and deep enough to keep you entertained for a while.

Despite the slightly rushed ending, this Italian survival horror does not disappoint: the story is well-written and engaging, the environmental puzzles are good, and so is the non-scripted AI. The icing on the cake is the price, definitely right.

Overcooked: Special Edition is a funny game, especially if played with some friends. Less sophisticated than SnipperClips, it offers a good variety of silly yet challenging situations, with a simple control system that makes the most of the joy-cons, with an excellent use of the rumble. Do not expect some exclusive content for this version, though.

In conclusion, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road stands out for its attempt to deepen the lore of the Daedra through the enigmatic figure of Ithelia. Although the expansion offers intriguing narrative moments and a new mechanic with Scribing, which allows for deeper customization of abilities, it also presents some dissonances, particularly in the side quests that sometimes feel less engaging. Nevertheless, Gold Road proves to be a significant chapter for fans of the saga, offering new challenges and insights into the vast universe of The Elder Scrolls Online.

SaGa Frontier Remastered is a 25 years old role-playing game that was never released in Europe. While this remastered doesn’t do much in terms of graphics, it adds a fair amount of content that will certainly make it intriguing for returning players. Novices, on the other hand, might have a harder time adapting to some of its more dated mechanics.
