There are lots of areas that aren't fully detailed and one would hope that Asobo Studios work on beefing up the introductory side of the game ahead of its release on the Xbox One. There are times where the novel-sized instruction manuals of the past really should still exist and this is one of them. Despite this the game is still welcoming and post training you'll have no trouble jumping into any of the game's aircraft and taking to the skies - knowing the basics is enough to have fun but the amount of depth means that there's always something new to discover. Our hope right now is that Asobo and Microsoft manage to improve performance for those of us on lesser rigs and that a patch is forthcoming to help boost the frame rate a little. I can appreciate the game at less than 20fps in low settings but I would love to be truly blown away by it.- The Digital Fix

Heroes of Hammerwatch is rewarding, fun and the gameplay loop is very intelligently designed. Every time you return from a run through the dungeons, unless it was a complete disaster, you will be able to progress your town in one direction or another. Skully is light-hearted, old-skool fun. In an era of online shooters and battle royale titles it is a breath of fresh air. At times difficult but not overly so, it will respect your platforming skills and have you performing daring feats. Nothing is incredibly unique here but what you have is executed well. Skully is not my favourite game of the year but fun distraction nonetheless.- The Digital Fix

As a fan of the anime and manga series, I found enjoyable immersion in Fairy Tail for the PS4 and recommend any fans to give it a chance. Other than this fan service, though, there is little to compel a player to continue in this game past the first few hours due to the repetitiveness of battles, missions, and story tropes.- The Digital Fix

My Hero One’s Justice 2 is, expectedly, a slightly better, more story-relevant take on 2018’s surprise hit. The additions aren’t enough to sway those who were unsure of the original, yet appreciated enough for those that did play the proceeding game. No doubt the extended roster is the breakout addition, sure, but outside of those already invested in the My Hero Academia-verse, there’s little to be excited about, bar a damn good, albeit wholly casual, stylish anime fighter. Caught within a comic book, fight your way through as the protagonist Fury to help your creator overcome his doubt as an artist. A devilishly fun and extremely difficult rougelite that thankfully doesn't penalize you as harshly for dying as some within this genre. There is a steep learning curve in "Hard Mode" (technically normal mode) but there is an "Easy Mode" option with customizable parameters to make the game more accessible. Shoot, loot, and keep your combo going to shield you from enemies and collect health with each kill. Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders is not a remaster or remake, in fact it’s barely a port. Whilst the scale of the game makes it fun in places, it looks and feels incredibly dated, and you’ll lose a lot of that fun if you’re wedded to mouse and keyboard. It’s an old game, presented warts and all: if bad camera controls, dodgy voice acting and uninspiring storylines are going to put you off, then keep away. On the other hand the game is quite cheap, and it remains the gold standard for a genre that never really got the attention it deserves. If you’re a fan of the original it’s likely a must-buy, for everyone else I’d temper your expectations accordingly.- The Digital Fix

Even though it is short and not very difficult, Covert truly excels at being a co-op adventure like no other on the medium. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a stunning remake of the original Rescue Team games which ceaselessly captures their magic and emotion. While some fan-favourite gameplay elements have been lost, and the game feels much more forgiving than it arguably should be, it is faithful to the source material and is a nostalgic return to the humble beginnings of Pokémon's longest-running spinoff series. Worth picking up for both returning and new adventurers alike.- The Digital Fix

Infliction: Extended Cut derives almost all of its best ideas from much better games, making the whole thing feel like a chore rather than an ordeal. It simply does not cut it.- The Digital Fix

Retro in a way rarely touched on in modern gaming, Hayfever is a fun but challenging platformer with plenty of charm to spare.- The Digital Fix

Bookbound Brigade feels less like a literary Avengers and more like a literary Suicide Squad. It simply has not done enough to justify itself. Strictly for diehard Metroidvania fans.- The Digital Fix

This will never be a title that I to return to it in the way I do with Civilization V or Rome: Total War, but it was a solid experience nonetheless.- The Digital Fix

Certainly not for everyone and absolutely not your typical game, Actual Sunlight provides a deeply emotional and occasionally difficult narrative to wade through on a dreary afternoon.- The Digital Fix

Loud, colourful, and chaotic. Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is a more than worthy addition to the long-running, entertaining franchise.- The Digital Fix

Two Point Hospital is entertaining, quirky and very funny. It has a nice learning curve and its gameplay never gets stale. It improves on the game that influenced it in most areas and does not try to re-invent what was a good game to start with. I really enjoyed it a lot and I think most people will to.- The Digital Fix

Hunt: Showdown is a solid game, with genuine thought put into making it play in a distinct way, but it feels too anonymous in every other key area to be essential within the genre.- The Digital Fix

Lost Ember is a visually stunning game with a breathtaking world to explore. These features, as well as its beautiful soundtrack and engrossing narrative, make it a must-play indie - but its constant performance issues really hold it back. It is worth fighting through them, but be aware that your immersion will consistently be broken.- The Digital Fix

Mosaic’s strikingly beautiful aesthetic is not quite enough to overcome a frustrating core gameplay loop and buggy controls. Those with an affinity for great art design will find a lot to admire but those needing a mechanically compelling reason to keep playing will struggle with what is offered.- The Digital Fix
