Zapling Bygone is a fun and challenging Metroidvania that will keep you entertained for hours. With fantastic comic book artwork telling the story, completionists will be in heaven… or Valhalla using the skulls of their enemies to collect every last item.

Whether you want fun as a group or something to occupy your alone time, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime can check both boxes. Charming visuals and addictive gameplay are always a potent combination, but the game just slightly lacks that wow factor needed to be deserving of an even higher score.

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is a lot more engaging than it ought to be. It's a little awkward scrolling through questions, but the game will let you move to the next day when you've asked enough, allowing for a myriad of endings.

Unique and beautiful, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon isn’t afraid to mix elements from different genres to explore the somewhat unique concept of a ‘co-op game that you play alone’. The best part being that it executes that idea in an almost flawless manner.

Take a slice of side scrolling action game, add to that some match-3 elements, and mixes it all with a pinch of visual novel. The result is Battle Chef Brigade, a beautifully crafted game about cooking that delivers something unique due to its complementary gameplay and engaging narrative.

By expanding on an admittedly short base game, the Snipperclips Plus DLC does away with one of the game's only faults and makes this an absolutely essential purchase for the Switch. Get some family and friends round and you'll be roaring with laughter for hours!

Pikuniku is the perfect Sunday afternoon game; short, but sweet. It’s an enjoyable romp through a pleasant world, teaching the important life lesson that kicking things is often the simplest solution.

Resident Evil Revelations is a great entry in the legendary survival-horror series and a great fit for the Nintendo Switch. The bite-sized chapters make short bursts of play in handheld mode ideal, whilst also translating well to the big screen. Just make sure you don't book any cruise holidays in the near future - it's certainly put me off!

Observer may be a little rough around the edges on Switch, but it’s an incredible psychological horror experience, and Bloober are right to refer to it as one of the most advanced cyberpunk games on Switch. With some incredible Sci-Fi dream set-pieces, and a harrowing dystopian world starring Rutger Hauer, it’s easy to recommend.

Splitter Critters is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. An engaging puzzle game that provides a challenging experience that gradually expands. This is all wrapped up in a distinctive paper constructed world that’s waiting to be ripped apart.

Descenders offers almost endless fun thanks to fantastic arcade action and infinite procedurally generated levels to play with. Though the move to Switch does come with some graphical concessions, this is a fantastic way to play this sort of game.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition is probably the most content-rich, sit-down and zone-out kind of game that has ever existed. With a multitude of modes at your disposal, and with friends in tow, you can’t go wrong with this.

Dead by Daylight makes the transition to Switch adequately, retaining all the asymmetrical horror goodness it’s known for, albeit looking a little worse for wear. The higher price is off-putting, but the flexibility of handheld play certainly helps.

While it won’t scratch the itch for anyone looking for a competitive puzzler, there isn’t a music-based puzzler quite like Lumines Remastered so beautifully executed, and at an affordable price. The Trance Vibration gimmick you can take it or leave it, but you’ll still be able to bliss out regardless.

Aegis Defenders manages to avoid the boredom found on some tower defense games by mixing it up with action and platforming elements. Its complexity and depth of strategy doesn’t lose its light even with its somewhat convoluted controls. With its top-notch pixel art style and charming narrative, it delivers an entertaining and unique experience.
