One of the best RPGs of the recent years finally lands on consoles, with a new (and mostly good) UI and both of the expansions bundled in, and, even after more than two years, can still be a very good choice for all the role playing games aficionados on both Ps4 and Xbox One.

It would be a crime not to play this little gem of a JRPG, that shows to everyone (to Square Enix in the first place) where the Final Fantasy saga should have gone. In fact, even not owning a 3DS would be a valid excuse: go out and buy one.

Star Wars Jedi: Survival is the classical sequel "Bigger, better and more badass", but due to some technical issues and engine limitations it cannot fully take flight.

Although the mods are not supported as in the PC scene, the Switch version of Slay the Spire is pure bliss, a dangerously addictive roguelike card game like you've never seen before on Nintendo's console.

Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War II is an interesting hybrid between strategy and action in its single player campaign, but shows a completely different face on the multiplayer side, strategically deep and less frantic. Several flaws, like the repetitive gameplay and missing modes and maps from the multiplayer don't allow a full marks promotion. Strategy newbies and casual gamers will love it, but RTS hardcore fans should try before buying.

With the new characters and modes, Killer Instinct reaffirms itself as one of the best fighting games in the market. The combat system is still great, and the netcode is probably the best around. Definitely a must for Xbox One owners who love the genre.

Red Faction Guerrilla is an ambitious free roaming game; putting this game’s disc in your console, you’ll find a great open-world, ready to be completely explored and destructed...Secondary missions missions become really repetitive, but the main mission are really enjoyable and multiplayer sections are very intense.

Leaving Possum Sprigns is one of the hardest things we've done in the last years of gaming: Mae Borowski and her fellow young adults have left a memorable stain in our hearts, and we're already looking forward to go visit them again. Don't miss one of the best narrative experiences ever.

Madden NFL 10 may well be the best Madden game. This is a great pickup for any football fan. Franchise mode is great this year. A lot more features added to give you a more in depth look at your team, and what is happening around the league. Online franchise is a great addition.

Continuum Shift shows all the great experience of Arc System Works in the beat'em'up genre. New fighters in a well designed roster, new modes, new locations and useful options for beginners add new weapon to a brand with solid, deep and satisfiing gameplay. One of the best bidimensional beat'em'up of all times.

Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is a beautiful platform "on rails" driven by the rhythm of music, just like its predecessor Bit.Trip.Runner. Gaijin Games was clearly extremely inspired when began working on the title, and the result is a product full of content, challenging and, most importantly, extremely fun. Highly recommended.

Among all the weapons Crysis 2 offers to the player, the most important is choice: the free roaming structure of its predecessor comes back somehow transformed, more streamlined and best suited to the NYC concrete jungle. A perfectly balanced gameplay, stunning graphics and an entertaining multiplayer make this a must-have for every FPS addict.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is a game that, while solid and captivating, doesn’t quite recapture the groundbreaking impact of its predecessor. It attempts to offer a fresh take on the series, but does so a bit too conservatively, lacking the sense of novelty that defined the bold direction of DOOM Eternal. While the deliberate pacing of combat and the intricacy of the environments have their own appeal, the absence of that dynamic drive leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste. For longtime fans, it’s still a journey worth taking — but it certainly doesn’t represent the saga’s highest point.

Delta is a remake that walks a tightrope between admiration and routine. It takes your breath away when you traverse the jungle as Snake, yet it constantly reminds you that you are experiencing something already seen, merely dressed in new lights and polygons. Konami has done an impeccable job technically, but without Kojima’s wild touch, everything remains predictable, elegant, yet lacking the spark that made the original an unforgettable experience.

Frostpunk 2 puts its gameplay at the service of storytelling and, through relatively simple game mechanics, manages to make the player experience strong emotions and a constant moral dilemma. From a gameplay perspective, it is a fairly straightforward city builder, but the political and social dynamics are where the essence of the game created by 11 Bit Studios truly lies. Frostpunk 2 dismantles any notion of social utopia and shows how humans are inherently irrational beings, ready to self-destruct. The limitations imposed on the player’s decision-making power work perfectly within this framework, forcing the player to make difficult and uncomfortable decisions, offering a much more satisfying and refined level of strategy compared to traditional management games.

Like a punch you didn't see coming, Hotline Miami will make you bleed and leave you enthralled with its violence, its responsive controls and, more than that, with its fun and frantic blood fest. A great port, expecially on PSVita.

McMullen did it again. With the latest expansion The Binding of Isaac got bigger, better, and it became even more of a virtual drug (if that was even possible). It’s a disturbing game, but also one that needs to be played, and slowly analyzed. Room after room, trauma after trauma, forever and ever.

We won't waste time in small chat: Final Fantasy IX is a timeless masterpiece. It's a nostalgic medieval ballad, that takes the player's hand to guide him into a fantasy world. The game was optimized for PlayStation 4, but the remaster suffers some little flaws such as old textures and pixelated pre-rendered environments. If you never experimented this videogame fantasy symphony you should buy it without thinking, but if you also bought it on PSX or PS3 you will not find any reason to take it again.

There's hardly something wrong in the Playstation consoles version of Rogue Legacy: this is still the same, excellent roguelite rpg seen last year on PC. But now you get to play it at 60 fps and on the go, thanks to the cross buy option.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a blend of genres that demontrates how Capcom is one of the few brave Majors left that can experiment with games in a market of mere clones. Not a top-notch game, but a very consistent one.

Dark Souls is nothing more than a porting operation. The lack of experience from the developers made this process complicated, with a final result that is far from what this game could and should have been on the PC. That being said, Dark Souls was and still is a masterpiece, a game designed for hardcore players packed with content and very different from what the modern market uses to offer. A must buy for anyone looking for a real challenge.
