Hades II takes the addictive roguelite formula of the first game, adds a few spices with minimal modifications, and delivers an improved execution. So mote it be.

FromSoftware has opened up metaphorically and its bet has paid off. Elden Ring is a solid contender for Game of the Year 2022 despite any technical issues it may have.

A monumental achievement of staggeringly aching beauty, the Witcher III stands proudly as the greatest video game of all time, regardless of genre. Geralt's final, epic ride, is the high water-mark by which all future games will be judged and found lacking. Indeed, it's only disadvantage is that it completely ruins every other title on the market right now by nailing every single aspect of game design with almost supernatural clarity and perfection. If you play one video game in your life, make sure it's this one.

God of War merges all its gameplay elements into one excellent package, dressed in unparalleled direction and amazing storytelling. The scale of the narrative, the divine but always human Kratos, the "boy" who sees everything with childlike enthusiasm, all this offers the player a thrilling story that has at its heart the most human and natural relationship between a parent and his child. Regardless of preference, God of War is a must-see title. Benchmark for each and all its elements and still fresh in 2022.

Resident Evil Requiem is not a eulogy for the series, but a celebration of it, with all the elements that made it great. It is Capcom's gift to all Resident Evil fans. For those of us who have an emotional attachment to it, it can convey so much more...

Despite its age, Okami HD is a very beautiful and enjoyable experience, as it enchantingly takes us to an era and traditions foreign to the western audience. It offers about 50-60 hours of entertaining gameplay, while it effortlessly passes the message of how we should respect the nature. A bright gem in the game library of those who will honour it.

A living, breathing, Cezanne that will not hesitate to cover itself in blood, wink bitterly at you as it runs deeper down the rabbit hole and whose propensity to stun, mesmerize and redefine everything you thought you knew about the concept of “expansion packs”, will have a lasting impact upon the video game industry. Unforgettable.

It might not really be the “Multiplayer Shooter to end all Multiplayer Shooters” (not quite yet, anyway), but Blizzard’s Overwatch masterfully manages to find the sweet spot between accessibility, class balance, competitive multiplayer and pure, unadulterated fun.

Kojima's latest epic is equally magnificent and frustrating, exhilarating in its gameplay and confusing in its storytelling. Even so, it is a truly great game that every gamer needs to experience first-hand. One thing is for sure, we will be talking about The Phantom Pain for many years to come.

An absolute piece of after hours magic, not really a video game by any stretch. Just a bit of magic you've pulled in from the abyss and dressed up in interactive trappings before placing it on Steam. The set pieces are magnificent and so is that haunting, elegiac "Too Late To Love You Now" song. It's not about a particular meaning but about an experience.

I don't think there's a motoring enthusiast who won't be excited about Forza Horizon 5, with a slight caveat for those who have had their fill of Forza Horizon 4 and might want more of the same - though honestly, I can't imagine how the formula could be improved upon, which in the arcade driving department is bordering on perfection. It promises and delivers an incomparably customizable driving experience, with dream-cars, in breathtaking landscapes.
