My time spent with Speedrunners on the Switch was more than enough to change my mind from my previous impression. Overall, it’s a solid game for single players, but local co-op is a blast and should be welcome at any gaming party.

Dread Nautical provides a very good turn-based adventure underneath an unfortunately cartoonish presentation. It can’t quite figure out if it wants to be scary or goofy, but the gameplay and level designs are deep enough to keep players engaged throughout.

OddBallers provides what you’d expect—an odd collection of multiplayer mayhem. Despite user interface flaws, there are plenty of laughs on offer in this quirky affair. Just don’t play alone.

The Plucky Squire is a breath of fresh air. It takes a storybook setting and tips everything on its head, with lush environments, fun puzzles, and humorous dialogue. Apart from a few technical glitches, this is a game that captures the imagination and is worth checking out.

Overall, Attack on Titan 2: The Final Battle makes significant improvements over its original release, but it still suffers from performance issues and has a niche target audience. With a steep retail price of US$59.99 this game is hard to recommend unless you are an Attack on Titan fan or just simply need another hack-and-slash RPG to play.

B.ARK is a fun (if awkwardly named) shooter that could use a bit more content and final polish. It’s hard not to like the game for its colorful presentation and fun gameplay. But it’s also hard to love it, knowing what it lacks at present. Make sure to grab Adventures of Pip first, but add B.ARK to your eShop wishlist.

The Smurfs – Dreams is going to pleasantly surprise a lot of people who think they’re just playing it to keep their kids happy. Although never too challenging, its colorful visuals, clever gimmicks, and solid 3D platforming gameplay help it escape the franchise tie-in doldrums.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is a logical continuation for such a nonsensical series. Despite some issues with mission structure and some signs of age, this is still a very good superpowered thrill ride of presidential proportions.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft does just enough with the original Tomb Raider games to make them a great fit for the Nintendo Switch. The ability to instantly flip between the original and remastered graphics is entertaining, but the real fun lies with the games themselves. And these are the three best Tomb Raiders ever made.

Clea 2 builds on the tension and atmosphere that earned its predecessor a cult following to create a decent sequel that leans into the darkly cute style and stealth-based horror.

If you’re looking for an enjoyable alternative after playing Mario Kart 8 for the past five years, Team Sonic Racing smoothly drifts its way to a decisive silver trophy. Start your engines!

Spidersaurs is a beautiful homage to a bygone era of over-the-top ‘90s cartoons and challenging platformers. The game does enough to make it feel distinct from similar games, adding in special abilities and beautiful art and voice acting. The game is a challenging yet short experience. If you are a fan of Contra, you won’t be disappointed.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! offers a unique take on party board games and anime-based games in general. It’s an easy recommendation for fans of the series, but those simply seeking a truly fresh spin on a somewhat perfunctory formula should enjoy it regardless of their mastered breathing style.

Cathedral is a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch library. It was a lot of fun solving the puzzles and finding my way around the cathedral and surrounding areas.

Out of Line is a simple, sweet game with clever puzzles scattered through a beautifully dystopian steampunk setting that suffers only from its short length.

One Night Stand is a game with a message, that gets it across concisely without compromising on how much you’ll enjoy following the story.

My time spent with HyperParasite was a lot of fun. Aside from the difficulty at times, it was enjoyable to take over host bodies. Being able to take over people and use different abilities kept the game feeling fresh. HyperParasite is definitely worth the asking price of $17.99.

Manic Mechanics is a fun party game with friends. Solo adventures can grow dull, but the gameplay is still chaotic with solid controls and unique levels.

Adventure of Samsara is a true metroidvania in every sense of the word. Sprawling maps, tricky combat, collectibles, upgrades; it’s got it all. Things may start slowly, but there’s a worthy adventure lying beneath the surface.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is a game that will definitely keep you busy. I was seldom ever bored while playing as there was always a task I was working towards and a lot to do. I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed playing it.

No Straight Roads often has a frustrating difficulty that stems more from developer choices and less from player skill, making for flawed fun. This rhythm brawler is best played as an in-sync duo or trio. But a slicker, more stylish toe-tapping passion product, you’re not likely to find. I hope to see more of Bunk Bed Junction.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an imaginative reinvention of the iconic Pokemon adventure, with a heart wrenching story and a real sense of soul, which is let down by sloppy mechanics, half-fulfilled ideas and disappointingly common cut corners.

Republique Anniversary Edition has an interesting story, fun sneaking gameplay, and quite a bit of the game to play. That said, is there anything exceptional about this Anniversary Edition? Not really. The change in perspective from its original release ruins the experience. It was far more tense, and ultimately enjoyable, when I was not in direct control of the main character. My actions felt far scarier because of their consequence on the main character. With the new perspective, I may be in control of the character, but I can’t see anything in front of me. In the end, if you were a huge fan of stealth games, then maybe Republique is for you. If you’re looking for the next great futuristic adventure, then you’re likely in for a disappointing time.

Just Dance 2025 doesn’t offer much more than its pervious versions, but it’s still just as fun. Featuring around 40 songs, it creates an inclusive environment for all types of people regardless of skill or mobility. Whether you’re playing for fun or as a workout, Just Dance 2025 is as engaging as ever.

If you’re looking for a title that relieves tension instead of building it, My Time at Portia is as soothing as gaming gets. The craft-heavy life sim offers new spins on mainstays like farming, mining, and even fishing. It’s the closest gaming equivalent to a warm cup of cocoa: soothing and satisfying. If Harvest Moon and Breath of the Wild had a baby, I’m positive their beautiful brood would feel like My Time at Portia.

If you really like the action RPG genre, Gothic II Complete Classic is a decent historical entry. I found elements which engage and disappoint in equal measure. Ultimately, the frustrations overpowered the attractions, and I was just as happy to put the game away.

Exception is a fun, aesthetically pleasing game. But it offers little to keep the player invested. Some new game modes would be an awesome addition.

If you like a puzzle game where patterns and timing are critical, then you will like Cyber Protocol. With 100 levels to keep you busy for many hours, it’s a pretty good value for the money (especially at the sale price of $2.99 at the time this was published). If puzzle games with picky timing and perfect patterns frustrate you, however, then you may want to keep looking. You’ve almost reached your decision gate and I can’t spare you any more time. End of line.
